I miss live auctions. Here in Alberta, due to Covid restrictions, auctions went to timed online auctions. And auction companies that did that will never go back to live auction. They are getting so much more on timed auction, it's ridiculous. The Super H is not more rare than a Super MTA, but It was a good buy., I like it. I like the 656. My grandpa bought a hydrostatic 656 like that brand new, but his doesn't have the 3 point. We still have that tractor. I like the 706 too. The gasoline seems to be a more common option on Farmall tractors. A standard tread 706 with a gas engine is super rare, and virtually non existent. The suitcase weights would be nice to get for us. Since IH tractors with 3 point hitches are few and far between in my area, those suitcase weights aren't easy to find. Most of our implements are trailing type. We got a good deal on our Ford disc. Only paid $600 CAD for our 12' and it's in fantastic condition. The young man did good on the Super H and it's nice to see young boys into old tractors.
The real "steals" that I observed in this video were the JD 1020, the Farmall Wide Front End, and the IH 4-row planter. All sold well below their typical market value. That beat JD Gator 6x4 in the beginning was well beat & rotted. That $2,200 price it fetched was all it was worth. Parts for them are VERY expensive, so their condition is critical to their resale value. We bought our used, mint, fully optioned one from a private party over a decade ago for $3,800. Only thing we've replaced in over a decade of regular use are the 4 rear mud tires (they rotted, cracked, & leaked due to age), both seats, and normal basic maintenance. They're relatively bulletproof runabout work machines if not allowed to be heavily abused by the damned kids or any hired help.
I had one of those old Grimm tedders. The PTO ones were obviously better than the ground drive ones because I couldn’t drive fast enough. I sold it for twice what I bought it for: something that never happens to me.
Hello looked nice weather there. Here would be mud all over. Nice auction had to laugh also its for sale the kid with his tractor. Plows they went cheap. Discs sold cheap Anything diesel selling not bad that ford sold good for what it looked like. The John Deere tractor sold cheap my opinion. Thanks your video enjoyed this I couldn't attend the live feed. Have a good day.
@James Morrison : The Ford 5000 was no great deal. It had a broken/non-working PTO. Nowadays, that's a VERY expensive repair. Ya gotta be aware of what you're bidding on.
Hay farmall fanatic, would you consider going to a plow day with red power? I love watching plow day videos and I love plowing in them even more!! Also, could you do a quick video of you plowing with your 400. I think that's the only tractor you have that hasn't plowed yet.
Here in the Ozarks the Super H & M and 300 & 350 row crop etc. Are not as useable as the standard H &M's are. We can put a super kit in the engine and have the same HP. Mainly its the Brakes. Those disk brakes get glazed and dont stop worth a flip. The old band brakes are better. The live PTO's are in constant need of adjusting or repair. Now the live Hyds are very good. I dont like internal Hyds. External are easier to repair.
I don’t attend auctions, guess I should. The JD Gator seemed a steal, was it? Same w the 1020 ?? If I drag my trailer to an auction you can bet stuff would go high. LOL. All the smalls I look for sure seem high. Still fun. Thanks for being there.
Missed it again 😭 due to havin an early start this mornin ☹️ great video though I thought everything seemed to sell too cheap 🙄 ford 5000 was really cheap 🤔👍💥
It always kills me when they say their asking $$$ on tractor house. Asking isn't selling, you can ask what ever you want. Auctions is where the rubber meets the road. That was a good buy on the 886 though. looked like an american 360 instead of the German 358
Surprised the John Deere 1020 went as cheap as it did. I know that area of the country isn’t necessarily John Deere territory but that’s hella cheap for that machine. The B brought almost as much and it’s barely 1/2 the machine.
@@FarmallFanatic I bet you spend your off days picking on old folk like me …. I need to head East without my trailer and no check book….my dad never bought me a tractor but I got a new Western Flyer bike for Christmas back in 1964….I was still riding it back and forth to my job at the gas station I worked at when I turned 14. That bike still looked new and I had to replace the tires on it twice and had a wheel driven generator for the head and tail lights. Put some pull back handle bars and a banana seat with a sissy bar… I worked every day after school and every Saturday to feed my addiction I had for my first set of wheels. I gave it to a kid just up three houses from me in our neighborhood and made him swear to keep it clean and maintained properly which he did until his dad ran over it with his one ton Dodge after too many wobble pops.
They're not all worth the same I can tell you that... I come across very very nice ones that would be worth 5000 and I come across average ones that would be worth $1500
