Thanks! I'm doing a machine learning training and I needed to split a long audio unto 1 sec chuncks and you just saved me a couple hours worth of time!!!
dude thanks I didn't know about this man, just a basic quick thing too, you helped me with something big and stupid and I will love and respect you forever
what... no... huh... WHAT!!! NOOO! I've had Audacity installed (on every computer I've owned over the past several years, used it a lot but as a "casual user"... but many years ago I recorded a couple of training seminars at work with plans on splitting them up in to manageable tracks and did... VERY TEDIOUS AND TIME CONSUMING. After a few I said "no more" too much trouble. BIGGEST FACE PALM I'VE I'VE EVERY KNOCKED MYSELF OUT WITH!!!!! YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING... YOU MADE THIS SO FU---REAKING EASY!!!!!! Rushing to the closet... where's that old 1 gigabyte hard drive, man I hope it'll still spin up and read!!!! OH! and you got my subscription too by the way, NO, THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for expertise in this area. My church want me to take DVD and bring Audio to mp3 and make the 1 hours long so we can play them on the conference call line. The only problem I currently have is I have lost the volume from importing from DVD to mp3 in audacity. but now I am able to split the dvd's in to 1 hours segments. thank you very much, May God bless your life richly.
Thanks! This was so helpful (Heck- didn't even get all the way through it- 3:50, and I was good to go). You saved me a bunch of time, and made my process more effective. I had to break multiple hours of audio into 4 minute segments to transcribe them, and use them....
Interesting, what I want to know if it's possible to split an wave audio file into individual channels and that so for instance, you got the drums pattern, vocals, baseline and lead synths, is there a possibility for that?
If we were to use the regular interval method, is there a way to make sure that the cuts don't happen in the middle of a word being spoken? What I mean is, does it automatically look for pauses in the sound or does it just cut based on time?
I'm also wondering this... There's a program that splits audiobooks into its individual phrases, and it does it perfectly... but you can't export those. I want something like this except I want to be able to say "Make each file a minimum length of 2 seconds and a maximum of 8 seconds..." and it just chooses what makes the most sense based on the silences, but then I want to export those.
