Hi mate, I have an issue with my Skoda Octavia mk3 clutch.. Pedal feels very light and occasionally stays down. I have to physically pull the pedal up to return to its default position. Is this a fluid issue or am I looking at a new clutch/slave cylinder?
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Fair enough but a mechanic told me there may be a risk that the pedal collapses if its the slave cylinder when doing the fluid bleeding?
Yes, it can, but u need to carry on bleeding it and lift it up and then have someone helping you while you push it down. And then lift it up. While someone undoes the bleeding niple
@AlexTheGrumpyOne Actually it same procedure..seemed the 1st time it got better then now it not bleeding. Only air comes out. Shall I use a pressure bleeder? Will.that be better? cos one press of the pedal it goes flat to the floor now. Only air comes out and a bit of spit of clutch/brake fluid. The fluid is still full in the resovoir
@rebel.mma.youtube use the vacuum bleeder. The level is very sensitive u literally need to keep it topped up to the top all the time. Clutch fluid pick up is higher in the bottle
@AlexTheGrumpyOne u legend. OK that would explain only air coming out. Thank u. U very good at videos. I only worked on subaru before. I followed your video to change the gear box. Thank u. Liked and subscribed
I tried this as I managed to get the pedal back up but keep getting tiny pin head size air bubble. I tried opening the bleed valve and got someone to push the pedal and it lost all pressure again and went straight to the floor. I had to start the whole process again but not this way. Didn't work for me. Car are to frustrating 😤
@AlexTheGrumpyOne Hi buddy I managed to to get it bled in the end but unfortunately like you say. Maybe the slave cylinder. I've changed the master cylinder and seems to holding out for now but we will see. Thanks for the reply anyway. 👍
Nobody wants to SHOW it step by step. Just talking about it. It was not clear what the pedal does at each step. It stays down? It goes up by itself? Do you have to bring it back by hand? It was clear as mud.
Open it. Push it down. Close it. Pull it up. Open it Push it down. Close it pull pedal down. Once you get a bit of a pedal then pump it for a bit and then Push down and hold down while opening the bleeder for a bit to get rid of the rest of the pressurised air.
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne So as long as there is air I will have to pull the clutch pedal BY HAND, and eventually the pedal will start to come back by itself so I will pump it like a brake pedal for the final air bleed?
@zbigniewrichard8291 yes that's correct. And make sure it's always full on the bottle! If you got vacuum pump to suck it through that would help a lot as well
