My s5 cluster died, I bought another cluster, now it says SAFE and doesn't display anything. Can the programming be done with VCDS?

Hi! No, it can’t be done with vcds. You have component protectin ON. You need to get it removed.

@iNf3rNuSdI4bLuS1 you need to search online for someone who can help you local, or remote. They need a more powerful software, vcds won’t do it.

Tbh I don’t even remember, but I guess it was facebook marketplace. 😂🤷‍♂️ I have it for some years. Just search for vcds and uou will find some near your. 👍

It’s not that simple for meto send a direct link. It depends on your location. You need to source locally a Vag-Com or a VCDS diagnose tool. You can buy original or clone. I’ll leave you the link to official website. store.ross-tech.com/shop/cat/VCDS/

@@istillplaywithcars I‘m from germany. I see there is one for 1.200€ but also some cheaper ones. Idk which to buy.. I only want to do the needle sweep thing which you did in the video and if there are some more cool features i might do them asweel as long as they work with that cable but i don‘t need an expensive one where u can start a diagnostic and all that. Need the cheapest thing. How much did u pay for yours and is the application for free too?

If you only want to do simple mods, I recommend you go for carly. Google it. It much less expensive and more user friendly interface. You can do everything from your smartphone. 👍

@@istillplaywithcars even the needle sweep thing? what do you do with your cable? like what things can it do for exampe that u can‘t do with the smartphone?

You can do logs on different channel, use the data to create graphs, for example monitor turbo boost with acceleration, time and speed. But this is more complex stuff. I’m not sure, but I think you can’t do that with carly.
