I have a 2013 Audi S5 with the TFSI 3.0l, on every start up when cold it sounds like the chain is rattling, im assuming this is a good point to replace the chain then huh? 146,000 miles on it. No idea on the maintenance because i bought it at auction. Never did one of these. Rattle goes away on warm start up
Hey man, I see you posted this very recently and I have an urgent question about the turbo inlet hoses for the B8 2.0T A4's, and the one for the B8 2.0T Q5. I'm trying to install an aftermarket intake for an A4 on my Q5, and saw a video of someone making the fitment, but not showing how he did the inlet hoses. I'm concerned about this, because the inlet hoses for the Q5 and A4 have different part numbers. (A4: 06H129629J), and (Q5: 06H129629L). I personally couldn't find a difference between the two parts, so what do you think?
The chain had stretched to the point the tensioner wasn't very effective. I have to admit it has been a while since we did the job but I know what you mean. However the tensioner spring usually holds a but more tension on the chain than this one had!
I'm confused. Why do the marks on the chain not line up after 2 revolutions? Unless the cam wheels move relative to the cog teeth or there is loads of slack in the chain I don't see why they don't line up...
Chains used to be better but now, I'd rather have a belt. Belts when used, are meant to be serviceable, hence placed in accessible locations and both tend to last around 100-140k miles! The only advantage to chain is if you only do low miles per year and hence, never reach the 150k+ mark before car is scrapped.
Iam freelance mechanic mot tester this week ive had 2 inginous chains rattling would you be interested in the job if i get any direct contact with customer i wont touch them
