Welcome to Carburetor show ladies and gentlemen! Today i want to share my thoughts about the best Audi ever produced, that today costs around 2000 euros and it is still a great, great car 20 years after the model was released.
Not a diesel fan, but I hear ya. My friend owned an 04 a6 1.9 avant quattro 131hp.That thing was a dream on fuel at 6-7l/100 city driving. And the power was surprising. I own an 02 a6 sedan with the dreaded 3.0l v6 gasoline and the more dreaded cvt. Mine's a front wheel drive only. But it is fully spec'd out. I love it. The front windshield is factory sound-proofed, all door glass is factory-tinted, the ride is silk smooth, full black leather, heated rear seats, visor integrated garage remote, wheel buttons for the radio, solar sunroof and more. Not as maintenance-free as the 1.9tdi but the ride quality and comfort are out of this world for a 2002. I now also own a c7.5. 2016 a6 3.0tdi diesel with the 8 speed zf - canada car. Not the biggest fan of the diesel, but the motor is solid and the transmission has no comparison to anything else in the world. I own this one from brand new and I am in love with it. I think that the c5.5 and c7-c7.5 generations are the best generations of the a6 hands down. The c8 I don't like. Neither the c6.
I have the 1997 1.9 Audi A6. Great, unbeatable car, now with 332000kms and still running great. Comfort of the ride, cabin quality, comsumption (mine car is chipped a little bit in a computer and egr off), in summer once reached 4.7 liters/100km - no bort computer, counted by liters divided by kilometers x 100. Transmission and engine shows no problems at all - always doing regular changes. The only thing is the rust.. Arches and doors suffer from it, I have removed it and repainted with spray paint, it looks horrible now, also I should change doors because of it. Mine question is it worth to work on this car's body? Body work and paint is very expensive compared to the car's price, but I really love this car and need some kind of advice.
