Audi A8 quattro D2 CML-transmission rear end teardown (part 3 - reassembling ) 

Great stuff! Does anyone know where to get the service manual for this gearbox?

I have a stupid question, hope you can help. I have an Audi A8 with this tranny, but I would like to make it RWD only. Looking at the transfer between the main shaft and the connection to the front, it looks to me that it does not have a dedicated center diff, but only the three gears. So the question really is this, would it work as a RWD vehicle if I just took off the front halfshafts, and just put the ends into the hubs so the bearing still works as intended? And if it wouldn't, what would it take to do it? I have seen a lot of RWD conversions with the 01A or 01E tranny where they weld the center diff, but this one does not look to me like it has one. Maybe this summer I will go into a manual conversion with one of those since I really prefer a manual, and I am currently looking for best flywheel/clutch combinations for the ABZ.
