The camera manufacturer does not recommend for power to be on continually. I wonder if the camera will burn out quickly. I would connect to back up light circuit.

Hi, I purchased the same camera set from ali, will receive it in a few days. But when I plugged my car to VCDS, I saw I don’t have the 10 to activate the rear camera function. What do I need to do to get it? Thanks!

The black wire you that you split into 2 then put into the black of the radio, is that the video cable with the yellow end?

Yes, it's the video cable as I get the power from the rear of the car

I would assume you can just get one like mine and then just join the wires from the old one to the new one at the back of the car

Great job! A lot of manuals tell to hook into Reverse light power, why did you chose to hook into 12v socket? I am going to do my set up, just want to be sure what to do. Thanks!

So that I can turn on the camera anytime, not just in reverse! Also the camera screen stays on a few seconds after coming out of reverse, if you power by reversing lights, you will have a blank screen for a few seconds, also, lights are not that simple today, they are controlled by an ecu which may detect a strange current drain and flag the lamp as faulty

Hi sorry to bother you but bit of a random question. Is that a wireless charging pad you have in your audi under the mmi unit and if so was it aftermarket as would like to fit something like that myself but unsure where to find 1 if you could help. Great videos on the audi by the way 👌

Cheers mate! Yes it is a wireless charging pad, I just searched on ali express for one to fit my car. They are about £30 but work brilliantly and fit in the space perfectly!

Hi mate, I’ve just recently bought one of these cars, I like it so far, but.. It’s to quite!! What’s your thoughts? I’m considering a res delete, but I’m reading all different contradicting things on the web, some say H pipe, some X pipe, some neither and just remove back boxes and some swear by a whole new set up which currently I don’t fancy doing. Your opinion would be grateful. Thanks, Jake

Hi jake, thanks for watching…I know what you mean about the sound! I’m planning to do a back box delete on mine to start with, if that doesn’t improve the sound, I will then look at H or X pipe and just work like that until I’m happy. This is my daily driver so I don’t want it too noisy!!

It does! If you follow what I did, then as soon as you engage reverse, the screen will show the rear camera

Hi, thanks for watching, if you get vcds plugged in and enable the reverse camera like I do in the video, if the screen changes like mine did, then it should be possible!

Hi, thanks for watching! Plenty of fuses are in that and the opposite side area, if you get a test meter and look for a 12v supply that is switched on with the ignition, that should do it!!

Best is connect to your reverse light wire as soon you out in reverse wire get power and your camera

Hi, you can buy the camera off eBay or Ali express, just search for an “Audi A5 reversing camera”, you don’t need any other module, as, if you have the “high” mmi like mine, the wires just go to the missing pins as per my video

@@philscars Okey, i will try it with a VCDS cabel. I was in a shop the other day to get a price for them to do it, they wanted £1264, this is in Norway btw. They said i needed an adapter for it to work, what is this adapter?

Hmm, I haven't tried to manually turn it on, I also have a wireless carplay unit installed but haven't had any issues at all
