Cool review about a very cool car...😎 Glad that Audi listen their customers and kept the physical buttons.👍🏼 Hope that they will do it on their future models as well.
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nP_CvLlaFlI.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. If you are interested in how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tkjCAmq1_8E.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
Just wonder why Audi didn’t go with the TTRS/R8 steering wheel with the integrated start/stop and drive select buttons. As you say - needs more sound. Am sure the deer near-miss would have been avoided had he/she heard you coming :)
Great review of a real dream car. If a car can take your breath away, I can't imagine how much I would love it (you get to drive a few more cars then the rest of us). Audi - thank you for returning to sensible climate controls; a touch screen for the climate controls is a deal breaker for me. I am really jealous, that just looks amazing to drive.
Let’s hope that those who use the acceleration and top speed have the driving skills and common sense to actually use them without endangering other drivers. Useless in the speed restricted U.K. Still uneconomic in terms of ICE cars but a Toy for the rich. Excellent video Thomas.
This is one of the coolest cars no doubt the only drawback I see is that this has to be bit more practical like no gears and the back hatch should be bigger then even model S can't stand before this go Audi go Audi👍
Great review as always. Can the interior of this car be fully leather-free? Considering that you are the only car reviewer on RU-vid that addresses the issue of animal skin use for car interiors, it would be great if you could let us know which cars/sports cars have the option to be fully leather-free. thank you!
Without any doubt....the best looking Audi ever made. I'm not a EV fan, but the looks of this sedan is the best. (this color looks like doggy barf however)
I love your attention to details in your reviews and you also have very good taste in from everything to the naming to physical buttons 😁Thanks! One day I hope to be able to replace my Audi A5 with this, but not necessarily the RS version.
Thing is just begging to be a sportback, would add so much more practicality. I think the interior is the best blend of tech and real buttons, still too much gloss black though. It doesn't even look very good without dust, fingerprints, and scratches. What is wrong with matte materials? The matte carbon fiber looks very premium.
Hi Thomas, great review as always. Not only did I like the car, I really liked the top you wore when in the Thomas Driving Lounge. As I would be more likely to afford the top than the car I was wondering if you could share some details about it. It looks very "Thomas blue."
I really like this kind of retro reviews. Thumbnail is like from the '80s or '90s. Type of jokes, his stile, everything is bringing me back to childhood when I was watching car reviews on my SABA TV :)

OG Autogefühl fans rejoicing at the classic intro 🥰. Thomas, do you find that you drive sporty EV cars differently to traditional sports cars - ie efficiency and range is always at the back of your mind?
I think the naming convention is on point. Usually it would be RS4, RS7, etc, so this is the RS Etron GT. Though I think it would make more sense to do something like RS E7
Good point. Imho the RS prefix works very well with numbers, but it is weird when a longer name is followed. With RSQ8, you can go RSQ8 or RS Q8, its kinda well combined, whereas RSe-tronGT is very weird, and therefore RS e-tron GT, just too complicated. Feels like e-tron GT RS works better. Speak it out loudly and you ll see what I mean :-)
I really like Audi, I currently have the last gen A4 with the facelift (2014) but their new designs still look really nice compared to what a lot of other manufacturers are doing…. Aka bmw and I might be in the minority but I prefer this over the Taycan
What EV is like a Toyota Prius? A Prius is a hybrid. Do you mean EVs were economy cars and not very stylish and sporty years ago? The Tesla Roadster was a very stylish sporty car and its the car that jump started this newer EV era. BMW i3 is a very futuristic/modern looking EV and it certainly handles better than Toyota Prius.. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV, and the first generation Nissan Leaf, I would consider to be sorta Prius like..
thanks! Trying around a little bit, adding some more spice :)

Thanks for the reply. 🙂 Your logo and white color title better suited this very professional content that you deliver every time. Keep up great work and see you in a next video. 🙂
Audi puts the RS at the beginning. You put it at the end. I personally think it should be in the middle. Other than the TT, the RS goes before the model designation. So, E-Tron RSGT makes a little more sense to me. I always thought of Tesla being an energy/battery company more so than a car company. It's a battery with the notion of a car on top of it. Elon always encouraged competition so it would make sense to eventually provide the super charger network for non Teslas.
Thomas: I've been reading about the coming Audi e-tron A6, which looks like a current A7 but has a more reasonable cost. I'm looking forward to your review of that model when it becomes available. Thanks.
I know Audi kind of popularized the cascading indicator lights but imo it's already starting to get old, now that a lot of other brands are copying it onto lower class cars. Oh and those rims are terrible, lol. Beautiful car though...
I quite like it but it seems quite compromised, especially in the rear. It’s supposed to be a GT car but it’s luggage and passenger space is quite limited. It’s a cool looking car though. I would probably rather a larger car like an A8 but with a similar drivetrain :)
Lol, you cant compare the shitty design and quality of a Tesla to a new Audi. All you can compare is drivetrain, range and performance figures. Nothing more.
