AJ Hurt, You were also a tad too far back (in the back seat) much of the way down. You were perhaps a bit intimidated by the steepness and the iciness. Being in the back seat means you generally cannot carve well (or at all). It means you almost have to skid to turn. That is not good. You probably needed to make a minor adjustment to have your center of gravity a bit farther forward (i.e. have your upper body a bit farther forward). If you look at Holtmann's upper body compared to yours (she ran just before you), you will see that she is farther forward in general. She carved more with less skidding. It is not surprising that she was faster.
AJ Hurt, You were noticeably jamming on your edges. At least part of this was because you needed to take a higher line than you were/did. You skidded through too many of your turns. You needed to try to be much lighter on your edges. That would mean that you would have had to carve your turns more cleanly. It would mean that you would have had to be more prepared for the gates by taking a higher line. Then the skidding/braking would have been much less. Still you had a great results yesterday for third overall. That had to feel good. You just have to realize that you are not automatically a champion. You have to try for excellent execution in each race. Trying to be lighter on your edges will also tend to make you handle the icy conditions better. You should with lighter edging be more aware of what line you have to take to not skid at each turn. The skidding means you are slowing down in each case. You do not want to do that.
