To get the light housing out, once the screw (on the MY2018 model it is torx T25) has been loosened, better to reach up under and across the bumper from the inner end, and push the housing out. This avoids the risk of damaging the bumper paintwork - it is very soft.
After removing the access plate for my Audi Q5 Prestige , I cannot find the retaining screw to remove the bumper light panel to replace a bulb. There is a large hole in the center, but I cannot locate the screw.
@@georgerizk1631 I think it’s actually a T25 torx bit on our model, and it’s way up there. The owners manual for the car actually says to take it to an authorized dealer to have the bulbs replaced, rather than explaining how to do it. Very aggravating.
Looks easy easy enough, but on the 2018 the hole is completely obstructed by the steel behind the bumper panel; the screw hardly visible. I just laid down beside the car, reached up with one arm and managed to turn & remove the plastic wing housing of the bulb. After replacing and cleaning it, I changed position and used my other arm to reinsert and tighten it in its socket. It was tricky, I couldn't do it visually so it was all done by feel, but the technique worked.
I did it on my 2018 Q5 prestige. Easy, first open the rear and get out the factory tool kit (should be wrapped up next to the spare tire). Use the flat head screwdriver from the tool kit to remove the same access flap in the bumper like the video shows. lay on the ground and look up and in at an angle with the flashlight and you should see a red cone shape that guides you to the torx retaining screw. Now change the screwdriver to the extra long torx bit that comes with the factory tool kit. It was made for this task. Guide the long torx up and into the red cone and unscrew the screw until it spins freely. Then reach up under the bumper and push the light assembly out from the bumper. The screw is retained so it won't fall out and you won't lose it. :) DO NOT pull the light assembly all the way out as it is still attached on the end opposite of the screw. Just pull it out enough to turn the bulb holder and release the bulb. Put the new bulb in and reverse procedure. The bulb appears to be 12V 18W but I am taking mine with me to the store to match the replacement. Yep I got to it in the end. The key is to feel for the screw from under the car, where the boot opening sensor is. I used the torch from my phone to see where my torx screwdriver was aiming at, and eventually felt the screw with my fingers and aided the screwdriver. The pain was putting the screw back on which took twice as long.
