Honestly I'm not sure it's that better.. You have to compere the same engine (horse power), light underneath and the same wheels. Than, maybe we can have an effective test.
I have owned both Audi Quattro and BMW xdrive. I can tell you right now their is very little difference when it comes to driving in snow. What does make a huge difference is winter tyres and knowledge and experience of the driver. This is far , far from being even close to a fair comparison.
still you have to acknowledge that models like the BMW X6, being roughly 1 inch higher than the average sedan, is an insult to the word "SUV" and should be given an own category called "DDV" - Downtown Douchebag Vehicle.
Bence yanılıyorsun dostum bende her iki aracı kullandım karda bmw ile audiyi kıyaslamak büyük saçmalıktır audi kar performansı en üst düzey arabaların başında geliyor.
I'm an audi fanatic and have owned more of them than I should, but even I see that this is not fair at all. When will people realise that comparing these premium brands is just stupid. All of them have their own pros and cons and everyone is entitled to drive whatever they want. End of the day, all of us who watch these videos love cars. Lets just embrace it!
80% depends on tires and pressure. Sure Quattro is good, but, Xdrive with right tires are good too. 10% depends on driver, and last 10 on the transmission.
xDrive is shit awd system, because its uses electronics to move power between wheels, quattro uses torsen mechanical differential so if one wheel is spining it moves power to other, but if all wheels are spinning it just lets them all spin and move the car, if xdrive all wheels spinning Ecu just cuts power to all wheels and try again
@@babyyodo4173 nope Quattro in A4 and bigger models is Torsen and it can send up to 85% of power to rear wheels and up to 70% to the front wheels, in my A5 its set as standard 40%front 60%rear
@@kalletpp1321 you audibutthurt all audi cars are RS and all are in different positions from bmw, im not saying one of them is better than the other but if audi is good only for snow than now days no one needs one
Bmw: 2008 Audi: 2016👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Bmw: Summertyres Audi: Wintertyres Bmw: 1 m snow Audi: 20cm snow Bmw: trying drive normal Audi: drifting and say its traction🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
As a former Audi owner and current BMW owner I have to agree. A good set of winter tires is crucial. How many of the BMW in this clip where stuck to begin with? No matter what make or awd system, when your cars undercarriage hits the heavy snow, you are stuck. Audi, BMW, Land Rover, it doesn't matter. I am currently on rwd with a set of Goodyear Ice Arctic Studded and I have no problems in snow.
Im an Audi driver, and its easy to get stuck with Quattro, like it is with every other AWD System on the market. You cant compare 50cm of powder snow with 20 cm of heavy wet snow... Still i prefer quattro, because xDrive is electrical provided AWD and can overheat on extreme conditions, which means no AWD anymore, until it got cooled down again. Dont know if this counts for the newest xDrive generation...
Although I don't like BMWs and owned several AUDIs (including 2 Allroads) this "comparison" is meaningless as the driving conditions are totally not comparable.
I love how light and fluffy the snow is for the audi... hahaha could blow the snow ❄ away . The bmw all have the heavy wet shit with all seasons even my truck would get stuck
1) the title should be "winter tires vs summer tires" 2) BMW with weak motors and big mass(SUV) vs audi RS and S in sedan or hatchback with more powerful engines from 300 hp.
Don't forget that looking on those BMWs they all seem to have summer or bold tires because they just literally slide on the same spot, without even moving couple inches
@@-rotukezge---6564 1. That is fresh snow (easy to move) 2. He for sure had winter tires. Not like the most bmws in the video.. Buy yourself a little more brain you fanboy
The funniest part about this whole video is that Audi people really believe it. Obviously there is a consistent difference in tires. So what this video REALLY shows is the difference between summer tires and winter ones. But Audi people won't catch that, lol... :)
U r delusional - there is not 1 clip of a bmw in deeper snow than the audis. But I get it, if you go back the way u came from - u'll find a ton of copium. Use that, u r a bmw fanboy - u're gonna need it lmao
You took new Audis and old BMWs. You filmed the Audis in flat snow, BMWs in 1m deep snow. It's a very unfair duel. But quattro still makes good all-wheel drives. best regards
I actually like Audi's but this vid is not fair all the Audi's are rs or s and are the new ones where as the BMWs are all old . But Quattro is actually better than X drive
I can assure you, xDrive works in real life without any issues. Third xDrive BMW here and it works beautyfully. It reacts faster than Quattro Torsen and finds traction where Quattro doesn't. It's not a big advantage and you really can't notice it unless you hit ice patches under front or rear axel in an intercection for both cars while having dry asphalt under the other axel. That's where BMW wins. If you want a car that understeers rather than oversteers, get an Audi. If you want a car that rather oversteers than understeers, get a BMW.
in my 25 yrs driving, when there is a little more snow on the roads, first cars stuck on the road are always bmws... i know it is not statistics but in real world it is the situation i experienced! real road conditions are different than test grounds... surfaces are not evened out constantly, and they are not smooth nor homogeneous all around. there are bumps up/down hills with very mixed conditions and on top there are other drivers around! experience does matter however you still need the tech to work with you not against you...
Nope quattro gets all wheels pulling when tire spins 0° and xdrive cant even find grip cause front wheels get 180° spin then rearwheels gets pulling, you cannot even drive in snow because the rearwheels drives more than in front. And torsen name comes from torque sensing
@@acdfifter what are you even talking about😂 i drive my bmw in high snow and plow my way through snow. And bmw can send 100% to the front or rear if it wants to. Audi cant do that
Any fool can see that many of the audi's have winter tyres on. Just look at the tread pattern on the audi's tyres. Totally bias and pointless review but Audi lover
Да это компание ауди за рулём бмв🤣🤣🤣суки подставили бмв. А так аудиу делает бмв по проходимости, я ездил и на бмв и на ауди кватро, а обычная ауди сразу ляжет в снегу, тут просто кватро
Wow, worst comparation video Bmw : thick and tall ice and snow and old snow with mud and trying to climb Audi : plain road barely snowly road thin snow etc Wallpaper one audi and bmw on a snow track, that will be fair, same condtion and same driver or same experience driver
The first generation has XDrive. From 1999 to 2003, they were made with 60% rear traction and 40% front traction. From 2003 to 2007, they were produced by lighting the front wheels as needed (XDrive).
personally I am a supporter of the audi brand but in this film bmw cars are equipped with summer tires so it makes no sense ... this only indicates bmw car drivers
I've owned both a quattro and an xdrive. Oh, and I live in Minnesota. Both are great but honestly without any disrespect to the person who updated this video, you have no idea how many more times the Xdrive has saved me or got me out of bad conditions. So, if you're saying the quattro is better and the Xdrive is useless, then you lack honesty my friend. (mic drop)
This video is incredibly not objective. It is simply made for Audi fans, it shows only pluses of Audi and minuses of BMW. And you know what? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.
I am a BMW fan and their xDrive system is really good Considering that the bmw videos were filmed in 50cm snow with summer tires and base models, when the audi videos were filmed with winter tires in barely any snow and RS engines
Why did you test audi on normal road and bmw on a road where it's 1 meter tall and snow over the wheel and none of the bmw was xDrive !! xDrive is on the latest bmw and there are old models !!
Thank you, I would like to buy Quattro. My last car was A6 Avant, just front wheel drive. Now currently I have Mercedes E Class. I live in Wales, UK. We rarely if ever or never have the snow. I definitely fancy purchase Quattro. Maybe A6 or A7 or A8. As I normally have preference for the larger car types.
Bmw 30 cm snow summer tyres Audi 2 cm snow winter tyres The fck is wrong with man who made this video, did he ever heard about winter tyres in winter, 4wd is pointless without winter tyres, how stupid people can be
BMW's rear wheel 60/40 bias would be the culprit. Leaving it's front wheels under powered in certain situations where having more power and torque under the weight of the engine could help it a lot. The video is clearly biased, but audi's are simply better in the snow.
