We tested the new Audi R8 V10 Plus on the autobahn. Great power, gearbox and the ceramic brakes are amazing! Hitting a topspeed of 333 km/u - more than 205 mph
fractalzoomgoggles The only point of your comment was to suggest that driving the car like this is bad for it, when in fact it isn't. It's overengineered to the point where the oil temp won't go one degree up when driving it like this over just cruising in town.
christian kane the diferince* betweed Germany and the netherlands is: ppl is Germany have good cars but don't show off. While the ppl in the netherlands got bad cars and show off😂
In the EU people have to ride on the right lane unless they are overtaking, otherwise you get fined (of caught obviously like anything else) and lose license points (where applicable). Doesn't mean people do that all the time in every country and every road, just like every law or rule, people break them, but you do see it more in these roads where people know there might be a guy coming at 300 km/h.
When driving on the autobahn you always have that experience like WTF. Even when you are driving at top speed. Somebody will always signal you with their lights when checking the mirror to say: make way and go right
Yes they are. Even though I'm not German, I did work in Germany and I drove many thousands of kilometres on the Autobahn. I don't think I've ever seen someone going this fast. Most people drive around 160-180 km/h, and some people drive up to around 250 km/h. But there is always stau or baustelle, so it's hard to maintain that speed.
correct. I live in Holland and drive on autobahn occassionally. 160-180 is common on most part. But 333km/h is very rare. Sometimes a audi or bmw passes with 200+. In Germany when passing on left lane always double check the mirror for the incomming cars speed. Especially when driving with a caravan which i did a few times to austria. You drive about 90 Km/h and cars comming by at 200+. Insane sometimes. But the Germans are one of the best drivers. They hold there speed when there is a limit say at a baustelle, but when the sign appears " end of all speed and passing limits" speeds up. but you always have to put 100% attention to driving. I once had a near death experience at the autobahn. I live 5 miles from the german border and worked in the north of Holland. The fastest way was through germany. I had a lease VW Golf SDI at that time which is the slowest VW Golf. Top speed was about 168 km/h. I was driving home from work and drove about 160 km/h . A German was driving about 80 km/h in front of me. i was listening to the radio or checked my mobile. I wasn't paying attention. I saw him just in time to pass him. You must understand i had also checked my mirror. Just passed im time. Very scary moment. But still i find it very pleasant to drive in germany. The autobahn is build for speed. When i go on vacation (normally austria/italy) i always have to go through germany. I leave at night on a sunday (no trucks allowed on sunday) at about 03:00 and have to drive about 800 km through germany. I can drive hours at 180 km/h. Very pleasant. What like atilla840702 says. It is very hard to maintain a top speed. So far my experience at the german autobahn.
actually audi had some problems with power output in the past. the N/A engines often had not the power as written on the paper. The RS4 b7 for example had this issue. Turbocharged engines sometimes deliver more power than they should. we upgraded the software of a BMW 1M Coupe (N54 Engine) and it had 357hp instead of 340hp it should have.
From the engine to the wheels there is always 10 to 15 % power loss But here this is break horse power and i don't know what's the percentage of the loss ? Sure it's much less
its located in germany, the R8 has a dutch licence plate and the speed limit on a german autobahn varies from 80km/h up to no limit and on construction sites from 40km/h to 100km/h. the actual sections on a german autobahn to have no limit is below 20%. hope that helped.
It always does, but with that amount of power even 5 passengers would make a difference of something like 1-2 kmh for vmax, so it's marginal. Mass for vmax only matters in very low hp cars.
Very irrelevant. Weight of a car is NOT affecting the max speed (but the acceleration). Having one more passenger will take more time to reach the max speed (with 600HP it will be negligible anyway) but wait few seconds more and the max speed will be the same at the end. What's affecting the max speed is essentially the aerodynamic of the vehicle. Also the friction of the tires to a much lesser extent... (theoretically, adding one more passenger will affect the friction, but that's too marginal to be considered).
Nuts. I once drove 240 km/h in Germany, and I was getting sweaty palms. This looks mental. I mean, just look at the speed difference in relation to the cars in the right lane.
Hello there! I have just seen your video and i have to say that it was an awesome video, the grip on the r8 is amazing, no wonder QUATTRO is the best in the industry "imho" all hail the NA v10!
The autobahn is one of those things that I’m like “why on earth does this exist” but deep down in me, I’m saying “this is the greatest place on earth...”
Gehe mal davon aus ihr seid Deutsche, woher hattet ihr den Wagen? Offizielles Testfahrzeug oder habt ihr bei einer Probefahrt die Kamera mit genommen? Gutes Video, Abo wird da gelassen.
The passenger guy is still texting calmly even at this high speed.. now "i gotta tell u guys that actually he has got the steel balls than the driver " :D lol
I have this car and sometimes you hit the gas and think fuck me, let's go, it's a super car and it's slow. But when you drive it properly- you hit those rev counter of 6-plus k, then this thing really fucking goes. I'm used to turbo, but this being naturally aspirated is a whole new learning curve.
Megablademe Germany for one is filled with speed limits... I don't know where you guys get the assumption that its limitless. The autobahn is highly restricted for speed in a ton of areas. Tell you what, blow through a speed camera or speed past the polizei and you'll be pulled over/receiving your ticket in the mail within 30 days. Just speaking from experience.
