nah for the price of the turbo plus NOS buying a jeep srt8 and putting all that on there is still cheaper then buying the audi v10 r8 ( msrp of $68,000) (msrp of the jeep srt8 20,000) plus $5,500 worth of mods makes it $25,500 which is miles cheaper for double the reward
This is just an overall display of sheer power and torque. No if ands whats or buts about it. Regardless of the 500hp difference, the jeep doesn't exactly have the upper hand. It has waaaaaay more weight and is like a piece of plywood flying thru the air as opposed to the Audi which is more of a humming bird. The Audi also has a much faster clutch set up and I've never personally seen an R8 that isn't factory equipped with a turbo. At the end of the day, its two people that wanted to run their fast cars against one another and the jeep is a better build. Being the owner of one of these fine machines (not anything built like this one), I'm surprised he didn't blow the transfer case right at the start lol. Must have big boy in it. Great video!
My boy has a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8-8, fucking DOPE RIDE and the seats are sooooooo comfortable! It made me miss my 2005 Chevy SS, THAT truck had the most comfortable seats in the world and the motor, with a 450 corvette engine was no slouch. The all wheel drive gave me the confidence to drive 120 mph while it was snowing with 6 inches of slush and ice on the freeway, I loved that truck!
The price for a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 (2014) including the Performance Upgrade Package is $80,000 US Dollars, the starting price of an Audi R8 V10 (2014) is $151,200 US Dollars.
Wow, if the driver of the R8 didn't know what he was up against he would be eating a pretty big piece of humble pie after that race. I did notice though the cloud of smoke behind the SRT after the finish when it was rolling out. I wonder if he held the NOS on the entire race. Perhaps he both won and lost at the same time.
Now I'm no drag racer and don't know much about it, but isn't that reaction time a bit... slow? I mean, if it's the actual time how long it took for driver to react to the green light? That's old folks reaction time O.o Or is there some specific way they calculate that in drag racing?
Modified engine vs stock engine. Almost 500hp difference... yes a very fair race. Now try to turn at high speed with that Jeep, it's a coffin with 4 wheels
+The bogan show proud to be a bogan Jeep, far cheaper and the hemi's have a distinct advantage having hemispherical heads when it comes to boost, that is the reason why top fuel dragsters are hemi.
***** true but its a crossover. the first thing that comes to mind when i hear suv is a vehicle that if it hits you, its gonna hurt. nothing scary about an oversized station wagon running into my car lol
More badass coming from the X5m and the X6m than any shitty Amerikan "SUV" coming from there. The only thing i think about when I think of Amerikan SUV's are gass draining shit handleing, over-zied tanks.. that do literally nothing better than a wagon lol, then again, i like sporty cars, not gas burners..
Even without knowing exactly the weight of each, 600 horsepower against 1,100, is an unnecessary comparison, because the result is evident before doing the test.
Just in case!? No one has notice.. That's not a regular srt v8.. It obviously has a brand new create motor in it. Just lesson to it on the line. It sounds like a funny car...probably alcohol only for fuel.
