@@CertifiedCarLover for sure, but I wouldn’t say a TT is a novice platform - fiat500, mini one, up, older fiestas.. there’s a lot of novice cars out there, but a TT is a little more than that in fairness
@@OffHeading well, TT is basically a golf/a3 underneath the skin. I think that this 200 hp is great for a new driver, but buying more powerful versions like TTs or even TTrs is a bit risky.
Spoiler with this design is actually crucial. It was first added to the mk 1 on re call after any high speed collisions. With that in mind, I’m sure designers would definitely not go without one for the mk2
This is the 4cy that is good on gas ⛽️ mine is the 3.2 vr6 250 eats gas lol 😂 but it sounds so good wishing for the 5cy 400 hp Version this is one of my favorite car 🚙 ever made the gti is fun but this car going around curves is really phenomenal to bad this car is no longer made 😢
TT with a 3.2 vr6 is basically a mk5 golf r32. Cool car with an amazing engine! You can put turbo on it. 5 cylinder AUDI engine is a true piece of art. They sound amazing and are quite reliable. One of my favorite engines.
The spoiler was added due to a loss of downforce above 105kph which can lead to a loss of control under acceleration. Caused some fatal accidents in earlier models, the spoiler fixed this
Great video mate! I have a 2007 Audi TT and I have 19s on mine and it looks very good. 16s just dont fit the car well at all had 16s for my winter setup. Very floaty ride and couldnt put the power down.
@N/A Garage I think you're are doing right by keeping your big rims for summer and putting smaller rims for winter. It's just better for driving in snowy conditions. Maybe you're right about R16 being too small even for winter.
The 1,8 TFSI 118 KW pulls better than the 147 KW - 2. Litre one because it has less Turbo lag as it's a newer engine. The 2 Litre 155 KW and 169 KW are a different story.
@igorszopinski1822 I don't agree with you because 147 kW engine has a barely noticeable turbo lag. Golf R engine definitely has, but this one with a small turbo responds fast even at low rpm.
@@CertifiedCarLover Take a drive in the 1,8 TFSI 118 KW after 2012 you will feel the difference. The 2005 1,8 FSI Turbo and 2,0 FSI Turbo do not pull that hard. They more reliable however as since 2009 onwards the TFSI engines has major oil consumption issues which needed piston rings replacements. Apparently Audi addressed the problem in 2012 but those engines were still not as reliable as the 2005 engines.
@igorszopinski1822 I have a 2014 golf 6 GTI right now with the newer engine (EA888, CBFA). Very reliable and almost no oil consumption. 0,5 l per 10000 KM, so almost nothing. The turbo lag is barely noticeable. Every engine has flaws, some more, some less. I don’t expect VW group products to be super reliable, so I'm ok with that.
@@CertifiedCarLover hence you noticed the turbo kicks in quicker than on the 147 kw 2 litre version. Thats why the newer 1.8 T also pulls better than the 147 kw version because of the lesser turbo lag.
@@igorszopinski1822 I see that we can't agree on this topic, but maybe you driven more vw group cars than I did, so maybe you are totally right. But what is strange is that 2.0 EA113 and first gen EA888 have the same turbo. By looking at the power curve, i see that EA888 starts to punch at lower RPMs, so probably something else makes them less laggy.
So interesting that this is seen as a woman's car in Europe but not so much in the U.S. All the better for me as it decreases the value making it more affordable for men and women in the U.S. I see this as a modern Karmann Ghia. I'm currently looking to buy a 1st generation with awd, manual, and 225 hp, which makes this a true sports car in my book but at a very reasonable price. These are only going to go up in value. ☺☺☺
It's hilarious how he went from I don't like Audi's and the TT is just an A3/GTI designed for women to I think I want to buy one.😁 He started out trying to not admit he liked the looks, then when he sat inside you could already see him changing his mind. After driving it, he was no longer thinking of it as a A3/GTI or just a woman's car. 🤣
Well, I still think that it is A3/GTI in a different body, but it doesn't mean that it is bad. I just think that if you don't really care about the coupe body style, you should go with A3/GTI and save some money. But if someone is in love with TT's styling and wants something that looks a bit more special - TT is a good option for them.
@@CertifiedCarLover , I think it's more of a price thing. If an A3, GTI and TT were all the same price , most would probably pick TT. A lot of brands use the same parts/engines/chassis, but as we know things can be done to give each it's own character. I respect your opinion, just giving my 2 cents.
I think that TT and MX-5 are very different from each other. Audi TT has a lot of electronics, you sit in a quite expensive-feeling interior, while a Mazda MX-5 is more about having fun while driving in a bit raw-looking, very noisy cabin. I believe MX-5 is more of a driver's car than a TT, but the TT is more like a coupe for everyday. That's why for everyday use I would go with a TT, but if you have a second car or you live somewhere, where all roads are perfect and the weather is fantastic, get a MX-5. MX-5 has a low center of gravity, so it should drive better than TT.
@@jjkingkongjjracingstar8410could you give more info regarding comparison of both cars mate pls? I’m at the end of turn where I have to choose either 2.0tfsi tt or NC mx5. Problem is mk3.5 mx5 is more expensive than most TT’s
@johanng956 One owner only, and the person I trust, so the mileage is correct. You can see the wear on the bolster, but it's alright or this mileage. While getting in and out, you always rub it, and it ends up like this.
great review ok for taller guys? and any blind spot over the shoulder due to that piller? I'm thinking of getting amk2 TTRS - the tt is starting to be a car guys car - the mk2 especially
This car is perfectly fine for taller people. I am 182 cm, and I felt like there's enough space for me. The cameraman is 190 cm, and he was also fine! There is a bit of a blindspot because of the rear piller, but nothing major. The rear window is quite huge, so you can see all the cars behind.
