I am a vocalist and I think she was wonderful. Her feeling and expression of this song was fabulous. She definitely chose the right song, just beautiful!
With that personality and that skill (not to mention good looks), she deserves a LOT of respect from musical producers. She needs more than a couple of minor musical theater roles. When she ended the song, everyone was waiting for more. She was leading them with her voice in a way that had the audience completely mesmerized. Anyone who DIDN'T say "YES" to THAT performance wasn't listening.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who left comments about my daughter I'm sorry for all the pain and loss you've experienced as well it was a blessing to know that there was such sweet people out there that don't even know me but I thank you and God bless you
What is your daughter's name. I am trying to search for more songs she performed. Her way of singing speaks to the soul. Please let me know where I can listen to more of her signing. links or CD ?
I liked her before she even began singing-- awkward with a subtle hint of confidence stirring beneath it all. And then she just belted it out in the high points, gave the emotional lows all that they meant... she wrapped my heart in that song.
Phenomenal pipes. A perfect soft pitch like Idina Menzel and then belts those high notes like Celine Dion. God given talent for sure. Thank you for sharing your talent with us 💜
Thought the same thing re Eva Cassidy. As a studio player I hear great voices every day. So, I'm a little jaded. This woman moved me 2nd only to Eva. She's got it all.
My sweet husband, Denny, passed away last week after a short illness. I held him in my arms and spoke my I love you's and goodbye's into his ear as he took his last breath. I am picking up his shirts and finding him everywhere I look. This song was written for me right here, right now💔
She's definitely trained...that is the kind of vocal range and projection that is indicative of a musical theater vocalist. No special effects or enhancements on her voice. Just clear talent! Beautiful!
I have goosebumps all over me when she gets to the first passionate, louder part of the song... Wow! She is incredibly good! This is what I call a breathtaking performance. Thanks!

@@OregonCrow Why would you even leave a comment, especially one like that? This person was sharing their experience as it relates to this song. You decided it wasn't applicable to your feelings and to basically suggest that this person not believe the feeling that they felt, even as it relates to them. You have to be around the age of 10 or 12 for that comment to be accepted or overlooked. Let's hope, in this case, you are indeed 10 or 12.🙄
@@robincranford8360 She will. She just chose that one for the competition. It was a sad song. It happened to me but now after seven years I'm free and have moved on.
She has a pure voice and doesn't try to have the contemporary sound a lot of contestants have. She's authentic and true to herself. That was so moving.
In my opinion, this young lady (and I'm much older than she is) has lived this ......she sings it like she means it....and she sings it with power, and beauty.
Amen Brother... We can look forward to singing like this in Heaven; only better... After all; we will be singing to the King of Kings who died to bring us home with Him...
Transitioning from the 3rd modality (loud chest voice) back down to 2nd (normal speaking range then down yet again to 1st (almost whispering) and maintaining perfect pitch, tone and clarity is EXTREMELY difficult. And the fact that she said she was nervous…even MORE so because your vocal muscles and everything connected get very tight making it tough to maintain ANY decent sound at all. She’s like The Bionic Woman of Voice! I’m a classically trained Mezzo-Soprano so I speak from experience.
@@acolon4617 - having a daughter trained as you, she would agree with every word you said (as do I :) When you grow up with someone that has perfect pitch, you get spoiled.
Rachel I have returned many times to experience the raw honesty and magic of your rendition of this song . Every time I find myself holding my breath as time stands still in a moment of perfection , aspiration and transcendent wonder . Thank you for your courage and beautiful song ! May God bless and keep you .
I’m a 64 yr old widower... 3 yrs now... they say it gets easier... not to sure that’s true... it gets different, but the missing her is there every day.
It reminds of women who love me for me my only love. She pass way few months ago this was her fav song. I play it before go to sleep she got voice of angel. Def dreave golden buzz . Was beautiful
@@ezriderzzr7104 Actually, she WAS good but the problem is that there are literally Hundreds if not thousands of people who are just as good , but are also trained singers which she is not(among other things her pitch was questionable often). There is no shortage of good singers, unfortunately you have to be in the right place at the right time, or you need that defining song , or that incredible part to get the spark started. People spend their entire lives with great voices, properly trained and controlled, that never get the big break. And others get that one song that will always define a star, even if their singing is questionable. Ethel Mermen would be a great example of that, her voice had power but little else - but there is still NO business like Show Business. No, it is not fair but that is the way it is.
@@lifeforse13 time heals, remember the person, but you can’t hold on to the pain or the past. That’s the only way to heal and move on. Sorry for your loss!
I'm sorry you lost your wife. I'm 63 and I'm glad you had the opportunity to find love 💕. I'm happy for you. You were blessed. My name is Barbara and I am not a weirdo. I just read your message and thought id say something so you would not be sad. Have a good evening.
I'm so sorry for those that have lost loved ones, my heart hurts for you. I'm 65 years old, raised my 2 daughters alone, their mother deserted us, used me as a plane ticket to the U.S.A., I've never been Loved, not even by my parents, I gave my Love to my daughters, I know the pain all too well, I'll pray for you all. Bless you all.
You go girl! After four years I pray that you’re doing very well. I will tell you what my son just climbed up in my lap to watch what I was watching and he’s not even two years old and just laid his head on my chest. You have a calling and don’t ever let it go. God bless you.
Me Too! Although it moves me to tears each time (I know, "men are supposed to be made of Steel", "emotions are for the weak" Blah!), it also gives me a perfect chance to reflect and reminds me that life is a fragile thing. It's important to live your life each day as if it were your last day, do those things you've always wanted to, but especially to say those words you meant to say to someone else but for whatever reason, you haven't. Now can always be the last chance for ALL things. ♥

Absolutely beautiful!!!! Powerful vocal talent...perfect control....perfect in every way! She sings with such emotion...really draws the listener into the heartache of the song.
I keep coming back to this performance which is absolutely fabulous, its the best cover I've heard. Well done Rachael its superb, you sould have released it on an album I would buy it ...thank you
This woman has pure talent!! She has an absolutely beautiful voice no doubt about that. She could have an amazing career. Thanks for sharing and God Bless you all!!
To the person that reads this, I ask the Lord to bless them and their family, to cure them of every sickness and pain, to fill their emptiness with love joy and peace, to rebuke the enemy from their lives. " ASK JESUS TO COME INTO YOUR HEART AND SAVE YOU, AND TO FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS, FOR WE GIVE THANKS AND GLORY TO THE LORD. IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST AMEN!
Never heard this song before but couldn't help think of the first time I heard Carrie Underwood perform on American Idol . Beautiful tone and control. 💜
Breathtaking and endearing performance! Most beautiful interpretation of this song I have ever heard! Her Stage Presence is Remarkably Powerful and lovely. Her notes were pitch perfect -- Rachel you are a treasure!
Not perfect pitch though. She went a tiny bit off but it isn't a problem. Big stars go a bit off sometimes and fix it in the studio, but live, a lot do go a bit off. Karen Carpenter was never off, and opera singers have such technique that I've NEVER heard a major opera singer go off pitch.
When such a voice makes everyone listen to more of it while carrying everyone away on an emotional rollercoaster, winner or not, she should record for the lay men like me. I loved her soulful singing. Wow!
I'm a hard-core combat vet whose job it was to kill the enemy. I enjoyed my job. However, hearing such angelic voices like Mrs. Wooding's brings me to tears every time. Thank you!
I have never left a comment on any of these RU-vid videos But not only did this song have me choked up because my wife also passed away in 2013 but when I got to your comment and saw your name (my wife's name was Virginia and she went by Gina) I totally lossed it. I truly love and miss my wife every day and this song was perfect for her ❤
Wow! I've heard this song sung by other people but this lady really put such heart and meaning into it... Beautifully do one! I wonder how far she went in the contest!!!
Could you feel the excitement in the crowd? So, so quiet as if anticipating, savoring every note coming from Rachel. What a wonderful performance. A Disney princess like performance!!!!!
