I love the look. Separates them from the same old same old crowd. Plus the purify woofer is one of the best in the world Buchardt says it is the best. They come with the circle grilles but I leave them off. : )

You will love them! As for stands I actually adore the Buchardt stands (but I know they are not for everyone). They are in my guest house now being used by my Son. Here I am using a rare set of Falcon Acoustics stands that I paid way too much for 4-5 years ago. Any solid 24" stand should do the trick. There is a set on Amazon I like as well that are affordable and pretty solid (and I have owned them): amzn.to/456PLia

I have the stock A500s and use them with the Buchardt tripods stands. With isolating gel pads between speaker and top plate, they sound great, and aesthetically they look fab, with a War of The Worlds fighting machine tripod vibe to them.

I dog the style of them and these are one of the worlds best woofers. High quality stuff. I’m sure it’s that way for a reason. These best towers I’ve had here for bass tightness and output. As for the look, I think it’s part of what sets these apart. Not the same old same old.

They are excellent for low volume and have some design features to ensure they are full and powerful even when turned down low. The bass doesn’t weaken at low volume but stays in line with the volume. Some speakers sound thin and lifeless when turned down, these pretty much stay the same no matter the volume.

@@michaeljoyce4415 I've been designing and building transmission line speakers for nearly 35 years, and there are very few commercial speakers that I would pay for ... and these are too boring to even consider buying. Sure they have a bit of bass kick, but one can do a lot more, with a lot less!

Wireless. I prefer it to using with a preamp. There is no loss of quality when using wireless here. I was skeptical at first, as the hub is a small plastic box. But it’s been faultless and super easy to set up and use. My review talks of using with a preamp. Posted it a week ago. Thanks.

They are out for now. Didn’t need them with these or the Daniel Hertz system. This room is really too small for all of the stuff anyway. I much prefer a clean minimal look :)

It's the design and one of the worlds best woofers. I think they look awesome and unique vs the same old same old,, but this is how they are supposed to look. The performance is otherworldly when it comes to bass and bests most towers I have tested in the bass dept. That woofer is part of what makes these speakers so special.

I wouldn't say you are missing alot. These will just be a different flavor. More extension in the highs and even deeper bass.

I use Puritan audio ultimate cables with a PSM 156. Been in my system for a year or so now. The cables I like because they are floppy and so easy to route. Zero stiffness. I have two 3 meter cables that I used with the A10”s.

I HAVE A500s - For the size of the speaker, the bass is astonishingly loud, deep, and tightly defined . I don't need a subwoofer.

@@HiFiHuff this is what I though. Saw her with a trio during the winter in a small venue. Small recording studio that has room for about 30 people, the GigSpace.

@@HiFiHuff, I am having the speakers for about a week and just played this song to check and see what will be the result. It is truly amazing and the atmosphere is top tier. That being said its not like that with everysong. Even with high quality flac those seems to be very critical about what you feed them with. If the recording is not very spectacular they sound relatively regular to a point i am confused if i am stillnto find the correct setting for my room. In the same time this song sounded just amazing so apparently the issue is the the source material. I would prefer if the speakers could cast at least some of this magic in more mainstream recordings...maybe in few weeks i will find a solution but for now this is my initial observation ;)

They may but there is something to like about everything matching perfectly. Also the tunings (which wouldn’t work with passive) make a pretty large difference in tuning to your tastes and room. We’d also lose the room correction. Even so, I’d love to see a passive version of this speaker as well. Not everyone wants to ditch their amps and equip :)
