Hey update for my CS2 AUDIO AMIGOS!! production of episode 2 was disrupted by the wildly passionate S&Box Game Contest, and the Eagle One project Rogue Arena took 3rd place! Episode 2; the creative sound design tools is back in production, aiming for a speedy release ASAP It'll thoroughly answer your questions :)
I just found this and please for the love of god please help me because I can not understand the s2 sound design kit it seems super in depth but sooo confusing. Thank you so much!
Episode 2 is public! This is depth you seek in a tutorial, a fully fleshed out presentation for the CS2 audio engine Creative Sound Design Tools - CS2 Audio Academy #2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-63TY0qGY8Kc.html

Soundscape is played everywhere as an ambient, sound entity is used mostly for directional sounds In this tutorial he has put soundscapes by both sides of the doorway, so that when he passes the doorway he switches soundscapes. While sound point just... Plays the sound in radius

could you please show how to use the sounds that do not work? or how to make them work. For example i wanted to use the waterfall sound from anubis but it wont play
Yea thats one way to put it; across the source 2 games there's different entities, different soundevent properties. CS2 doesnt use the ambient_generic entity but other games do
Thank you again for this great video ! Are you gonna do more video about sound subject ? On my maps the sound seems to be the same in small room than outside, I dont understand why 😞
Hey you're welcome, next video coming soon! If you followed this video and got those results, I would troubleshoot by changing every soundscape entity to the outdoor soundscape to see if it will load at all. If the outdoor soundscape plays, the sounds are all good, you can be certain it has something to do with your soundscape entity placement- try moving them a few hairs into plain sight for LoS purposes. If it doesnt load.... oh jeez you'll need the second video to know where to look. Good luck!
Interesting, the sound you chose must be positioned relative to player so it follows you around. In this video I share how you can make adjustments to fix your problem :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-63TY0qGY8Kc.htmlsi=I9GEHH6CX28S-ZZv&t=956
Thanks for another great tutorial! I wanted to ask if it's possible for a future video to be specifically about detailing your levels. It's fairly easy to make a layout, then decide a buidling will go here, a wall will go there, a pathway there and so on. However I struggle when it comes to choosing the right textures, or things such as making multiple buildings look different while still fitting the same theme. Any info/tips on improving this part of the mapping process would be a HUGE help! Thanks!
