Among the many car audio manufacturers at the recent MasterTech EXPO training event was one of my personal favorites: AudioControl. They brought a super cool demo to easily understand the value of their popular "DM-RTA" measurement tool. In this video we also discuss their new ACX amplifiers they are adding to the line, the new ACX bluetooth controller, and the ACX version of the Three.2. I love audio control i wish i could afford it all! The master volume button thing looks sleek, I told me myself when i get a brand new Ford Bronco im going all out on an audio system

Don’t do my mistake b&o system doesn’t work with audio control the voltage drops frequently you need a part from NAV TV that converts the output from Back of the radio to rca analog output but it cost around $700

You're the only person I hear ever talk about Audio Control. When I got my system installed the installer never mentioned this brand, just RF, JBL, DB, etc. Is this gear higher quality than most, for example, I went with RF just because it was a well-known high quality brand.

RF is definitely a high quality brand and "old school." Audio Control makes squeaky clean sounding products mainly for audiophiles. It is not really popular with spl folks and bass heads unfortunately.

@@DriftyFollower3 if you want top of the line audio quality skip Audio Control and JL Audio and get ZAPCO amps instead. They have no features, they are just pure class a/b quality first amps.

RF is just a well known brand that's average imo. Much like Alpine. Anything you can buy from a chain store is average compared to what's available today. Not dissing your purchase, just trying to inform. I'd say audiocontrol is above average. They've been making very good LOC's for a while and that's how I found out about them and seeing them branch into amps, dsps and even amp/dsp combos now is awesome.

In the mobile market, Audio Control has got the solutions. Their gear was really good back in the day. Hoping you will have a Knu Concepts video to show off their offerings also. I’m not alone when I say I enjoy your videos because you always break it down for those who don’t do this for a living. Waiting anxiously for the next video. Keep up the good work Mark! Love your channel. You're very talented and knowledgeable. One question I never see asked is; Say you're running a music app through your system like itunes or spotify . What should your settings be for sound in the app? It seems to me those settings could interfere or change signals going to your in vehicle system. Maybe that's not a thing and I'm thinking to much. Thanks

The dm rta has to be the best value implement on the market IMO. Double the price and it's still a relative bargain given its functionality and it's ability to combine and eliminate the need for multiple other tools and connections. Ac is on the ball with these products. Would love a d series 8 channel 1600w amp. Bridge 2 channels for sub, run rears passive and run an active front stage with tweets and mids, or a 3 way component front stage with 400w bridged to sub. That would sell like hotcakes.

I am very disappointed that a lot of shops don't know how to tune these amplifiers, I bought AudioControl D-5.1300 for my car I did all the installation but was not happy with the sound so I took it to lots of car audio places here in Los Angeles but some did not want to deal with the software or didn't even know how so I ended up returning a great amp and replaced it for an JL 5 channel JL Audio HD Series HD900/5 very easy to tune and I am very happy how it sounds now, nothing against this company.

Dang it- I was hoping to hear RMS ratings for the new ACX amplifiers broken down by channel at 4 and 2 ohm. Oh well I’ll be stocking them as soon as they come out anyways.

THANK YOU MARK !! Really wanted to see more on what they were doing with the Sentra. I recently purchased the 2021 Sentra SR Premium. I am wondering if AC would happen to have in depth testing on the Sentra's Bose stereo system, as I can't find anything about it on line.

No plans for the Sentra, merely a stock vehicle just to show what many of us have to deal with when interfacing a stock signal.

Did you see if the ACX multi-channel amps will have the same summing feature as the LC series?

All of the ACX amplifiers, new models and existing, have the ability to take as little as 2ch of input and still provide output on all channels, so there will never be a need for Y-adapters. However, they do not have our "front high input" like the LC and D series amplifiers do. This is for two reasons... One, to keep the ACX amps competitively priced, and two, because these are all-weather amps, most will find their homes in powersports applications like boats, side by sides, and motorcycles, where signal summing isn't generally necessary. Hope that helps!

Great point! It certainly is... The DM-RTA is so much easier to use than an engineer-grade bench top RTA or O-scope. Not to mention it is a fraction of the price!

It is so easy to add any upgrade to a base stock car system, but they never show how to add an upgrade to cars with a stock premium system like bose, infinity, JBL. I myself is using the LC7i to add a DSP and amps to my 2019 Cadillac XTS bose system. The LC7I is just ok. Going to JL audio TWK-88 and 2 alpine amps.

Can we determine the same max volume of a factory head unit using the 1k test tone and a lumy oscilliscope meter?

Yeah, an oscilloscope will work exactly the same. They just built it in for convenience

Yes, but the DM-RTA has a ton more functionality including the ability to look at the ELECTRICAL response of a signal along with ACOUSTIC response via a mic

@@CarAudioFabrication Oh exactly if I was a professional installer it is such an inexpensive tool for all of the feature sets it offers. I wish there was a rental market for these kinds of tools. An individual who has the know how but can't justify the cost of an entire set of SMD analyzers or even this beautiful AC DMRTA to do personal installs.
