For me, Denon has a more condensed sound and more musical. Audiolab has a flabby, indifferent sound. I prefer Denon!🎶Thank you for the nice presentation.
@Simon W Erm, okay, how presumpuous can a person be ? How can you be so arrogant to assume I am using a tablet , headphones ? Fool. If you havve nothing constructive to offer, dont bother.
If the audiolab had tone controls, I would have bought it, Instead have the Denon ( new) miles cheaper as well, have it with matching used DCD 800 player, for less that the cost of the audiolab, superb sounding combo👍
I love this channel as a concept, but hate that the same clip of the song isn't played twice back to back so you can actually compare the sounds. The way the clip plays through, but swaps units makes it harder to hear differences.
Audiolab has better dynamics and more clear sound better midrange as well…..denon is not bad a bit laid back not as clear muddy upper bass…..but its ok
If you hear music while sitting down you will prefer the Audiolab..., sounds more open to midrange, ...but if your body moves.., then you need the fuller sound of the Denon! There is not bad or good is how you prefer to hear music and the type of music ...
I own both of these amps, will try to add my input after more time with them. I stumbled on this video while trying to find a comparison between the Rotel A11 Tribute and Audiolab 6000A
It's nice to know that you have so much money you consider an $800 amp a budget model. FYI, many people would find it a stretch to spend $800 on their whole system. This is what's ruining the audio hobby, that people think $800 amps and $1000 speakers are entry level and budget models
@@DougMen1 The price of a speaker / amplifier cannot be an indicator for general quality that you can expect in that price region. In my opinion it is misleading for the consumer when a product gets classified by it's price (e.g. 1000 euros - upper class; 500 euros - mid / budget class but best quality you will find under 500 euros) and not by it's performance.
@@eprojectEllie I have a similar feeling. The amps should sound more different. If you are demoing amps, you should get neutral speakers to showcase the difference between the amps. I am no speaker expert, but some research will definitely bring up a good pair of neutral speakers.
The Denon's fine. A bit average. The Audiolab has a slightly smoother tonal balance, a touch more dynamics and a textural..creaminess.. lets say, the Denon can't match.
I have both of these amps - bought brand new. The Denon PMA 800 NE is way better - Fuller sound, fantastic detail, sound stage, clarity, body, presence. In comparison the 6000A sounds thin, unengaging, underpowered. I also have the Cambridge CXA81 and that sounds much better than the 6000A (nowhere did I find a definite answer to this when I was looking for it before buying them). However the Denon is fantastic for the price and keeps getting better. Jazz played through the Denon sounds as if the musicians are in the room and nuances are so clear. The Cambridge has a more balanced sound and Fuller across the spectrum but lacks tone controls. I also had a brand new Hegel H190 (3999 USD) - returned that because my Marantz PM 6006 (my favorite of all amps) blew it out of the water at one thirteenth of it's price. The Denon and Audiolab don't even compare to the Marantz which is better on every aspect and cost me a half and a third of the Denon and the Audiolab respectively.
I am heavily considering the Audiolab 6000A for Polk R200 or Wharfedale Diamonds 12.2. After seeing your comment on the Denon PMA 800NE, I'm surprised, normally people would suggest the Audiolab 6000A. I don't like think sounding amplifier, is the PMA 800NE that much better? Seeing as they are much more affordable, they look pretty tempting.
@@principalsecretaryudpa4781 I bought all of the following different amplifiers - all brand new - and compared them for about 3 months. Here are my rankings in terms of sound quality. I like a full bodied sound with clarity but not harshness. I did not care much for soundstage earlier but after hearing some of these amps have grown to appreciate it. Here's from best to worst in terms of sound quality w.r.t my preference: 1. Marantz PM 7000N (best clarity and definition in the upper and mid ranges (almost audiophile) without being harsh - full bodied and punchy (without being boomy)). Only drawback is the Heios application which is the worst streaming application I have used (I have used a few streaming platforms - Bluesound OS (the best), Volumio (ok but lacking but still better than Heios), PlayFi (lacking but better than Heios), Heios (the worst)) 2. Marantz PM 6007 (maybe overall my favorite, beautiful balance, musicality, clarity, definition and soothing) 3. SVS Soundbase - best class D sound. One of the best for electronic music. Very small footprint, uses PlayFi application which is much better than the Marantz/Denon Heios application and can play from a large variety of streaming sources. Fantastic for the price. One of my best buys. 4. Denon PMA 800 NE (best soundstage (best for jazz) but lacking in midrange clarity and punch (not much good for rock, electronic music)) 5. Cambridge Audio AXR 100 (best value, good sound, features (tone controls, connectivity), price) 6. Cambridge CXA-81 - good but can be too forward and tiring with lack of tone controls 7. Audiolab 6000 A - extremely underwhelming and unimpressive. Thin sound - not full bodied at all (compared to the above) 8. Hegel H190 - absolute disaster at 4000 USD. Absolutely 0 base/bass. Everything else in this list sounds way better. I don't know what the hype about Hegel is about. Maybe it takes 2000 hours to break in as the salesmen would tell you but I do not know and could not take the risk of keeping it beyond the return period. I played it for several days and there was no 'opening up' of the sound at all
@@debashishmitra Thanks for the input, I have gone ahead with the Topping E50 and Topping PA5 stack to drive the polks r200 for now. Hopefully, they sound as good as advertised/reviewed. I will also consider getting the Marantz PM6007 + Wharfedale Diamonds 12.2 for another room. Thanks.
Tested pma800ne with kef towers in shop sound ok but nothing to write home about. Back home paired it with my paradigm studio 100v1 towers. Sounds louder cleaner not like in shop.
Chociaż audio lab wygląda jak gówno, to lepiej gra niż Pioneer. Szkoda że zrobiliście to na kolumnach z których nie ma basu nic. Zamiast na podłogówkach jakiś.
