I'm from New Jersey. About 20 years ago I joined the N.J. Audio Society. A member of the club was an Audio Genius who made various audio products , one of which he called The Silencer. The product was amazing as a power conditioner. The entire cost was below $250. Unfortunately, he doesn't make them any longer.

Does anyone know where i can purchase a decent c13 to c14 cable? Im running a belden cable from this to the mains. Im thinking design & cable but £60 is a bit of a piss take.

Hi. Can you tell me if this has a 13A fuse in the IEC cable. I decided to give this unit another go after investing in the CDT. Just didnt want to put the wrong cable for a different unit. Cheers

Hi - sorry I chucked the supplied cable in the pile and used the amplifier one so now not sure which is which! Having said that it’s a standard kettle lead so I guess you could use whatever one came with the CDT

@@theebayhififanatic6002 no worries. Its just ive noticed different fuses used in these cables so im just making sure i dont cause harm toanything. The turodial power supply is smaller in the CDT compared to the Amp which makes me question is this blocker safe to use with any unit. It does say in the manual can be used with most appliances though. I would recommend the CDT if you want to get the best out of the in-built DAC in the Amp.

I just bought one of these for £99. Removed the cover to find very little for the money. Just two cheap Chinese DECON electrolytics, and three cheap Chinese CRC X2 caps. I've now ordered some much better EPCOS/KEMET caps from RS to replace them all. It cost me £10 to have much better spec parts with longevity.

Hi there. Do you happen to remember the part numbers of the caps that you bought? Thanks.

@@beaverishid just open it up yourself. I too open it a while ago and noticed they were caps ive never heard of. Hopefully they have the values on.😮

Did you notice an improvement after recapping? Did you replace with film caps?

@@CM-dw3gh No difference in improvement. Just changed all components to ensure reliability and quality. X2 caps are already film caps, upgraded them to Kemet X2.

Cost effective cheat if you need multiple DC blockers, buy one then connect to mains socket as per normal then build yourself a patch lead with 4 or 6 sockets on with a IEC connector voila whole block is now filtered by one DC blocker!!!! Saves buying the 6 block version for £350 or buying multiple single ones!!!!!

Thanks - might give that a go!

Not a good idea. If any device connected to this DC blocker has a SMPS PSU - e.g. TV, STB etc. they could re-introduce the DC Offset which is no longer filtered.

I hifi shortcuts usually aren’t a good idea. Separation is usually best.
