I feel there is Alott of hate on the m1060 because it copy lcd2? Like metal review he keep bringing up cheAp Chinese materials copy cat etc.... I almost didn't purchase them because of his review but there is Alott of love for them too for zeos to dms to you .. I just feel limited with the hd600 with a wide range of music great video btw ..
Its Shanna i feel it would be for audeze to sue if they felt it was a copy. As a consumer, I care about getting the best products for my money. Market competition makes better products, I think. Hd600 are limited for sure. But they hit certain songs in a completely unmatched way. But I do recommend getting another pair of cans because diversity it always good.
Its Shanna it's a bummer how off shore realities impact American manufacturing, but it is what it is. This is an interesting video for this discussion because you have Monoprice and Audioquest with very different philosophies and then Sennheiser enabling those two with their own price gouging. Me? I'm just a guy that loves music, appreciates nice things, don't have nearly the budget others seem to have.
Good question... I have no clue. Personally, I don't feel it is a direct copy. They are definitely close. I would consider it more of a homage, than a direct ripoff. Even if it is. Audeze should have been aware that the technology was available. And other companies could make AND sell it for less. Not that someone stealing is there fault. But, if you leave the keys in a running car with an open door. the car is getting taken at some point.
One Man's Guide the eBay seller told me to use a thick bounty paper towel and cut it smaller than the foams on the outside of the m1060 and that should help with the base? Like does it even need help? Am still have until next week I receive them paid 225 shipping included so I think I got a good deal🤔
It can go either way. There are truly jewel box Dacs and tiera style amps that have little substance beyond their appearance- which while important, really is outgunned by entry level products
Nice video Josh! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on headphones and amplification! Can I recommend that in future videos move the mike out of the frame, as it's quite distracting. Keep doing what you do!
Ya, I can move it. I wasn;t really trying to hide it due to the style of this video. But, moving it off frame is just as easy! Thanks for the support ben!
Wolverine/Sabretooth cosplay? I'm into it...seriously though, what are your thoughts (full review?) on the NightHawks after hearing the LCD2Cs and LCD-Xs? I know DMS didn't really like them, and Z recommends them on his reddit recommendation list
Josh, feel free to name away next time, thanks for the comments in the video. I totally agree; spending $ on headphones is more important than money on an amp, also a good set of headphones should sound good on a tube or solid-state. Ideally, we all would have the highest end amp, dac and a quiver of headphones (and ear speakers) and I think this is what makes these videos so compelling, that your viewers get to, vicariously test several products without dropping big coin. In my expeirence, my HD650 did not really come alive until I matched it with more a more powerful amp. I don't think I am alone in this. - Ed G. (Edit: almost at 200, congrats!)
ga I just went ahead and got the Jotunheim hoping that solves the amp issue for a long time. I do believe something like a Darkvoice would be nice for some headphones, but for the time being, I'd probably just trade out of any headphones like that. I had a set of HK Citation IV that I had rebuilt as straight wire. That would have solved my tube fetish just fine. Wish I hadn't got rid of them.
JOTUNHEIM is sweet. What cans are you wearing? Are you going to run it balanced? I agree, as I really only noticed the 'tube difference' on my HD650s and thus, they are definitely are a nice to have, get a solid state first then the tube. Little bear has their portable B4 amp for $70 and from what i hear, is a good intro to tubes. I had to google the 'HK Citation IV' looks sweet.
ga yeah, the Harmon Kardon is probably more your parent's generation. Lol Presently, I go back and forth between my M1060 and Massdrop HE4XX as my favorites depending on what music I'm listening to. I really like my ATH a900x too, but right now I need to repad them. I appreciate the sub-bass of something like the M1060, but I don't need a lot of bass as electronic isn't a big part of my listening. Otoh, I do need a lot of "air" for the harmonics of acoustic instruments. No balanced yet, but I'll be trying it after the holidays. I'll report back. ;)
Got mine for like a month, I give a lot of burning time and I didn't enjoy the sound, ended up retuned it, definitely not for everyone, right now I have the Emu Teak with the Ori pads from Massdrop, love these headphones!
