I love that "skips", great solution I remember four years ago, I danced with a girl on wheelchair. I was at a lindy party, so I watched that girl shaking and snapping at a nice lindy rhythm, and I moved toward her and asked her if she'll dance. We started dancing and I used my Lead best skills, not for the wheelchair itself but because any leader ought to be sensitive in understanding the follower's needs and let her to shine. I did the same game with her, catching second after second her motility (not as wheelchair lady but only another one follower). I found out she had some good rhythm and love for the music and I found out the wheelchair needs long movements instead of short strokes, and it was ok, we danced three hits and had a very good time with some flamboyant swing-outs (yes, swing out with a wheelchair follower is a big show for the audience). Of course I hadn't approached her with charity attitude, but with curiosity about a new kind of follower to enjoy with and expecting to be a team. She was an attractive girl, but this is another story...
Awesome man, I was a lindy hopper but since april '17 I'm quadriplegic. My goal is to add some swing into wheelchairdancing. I live in Ghent -Belgium and we have an awesome swingscene who accept my disability. I'm happy to see there's swing in a chair, good job man!!!
