Audrey Hepburn was everything, beautiful, talented, style icon, humanitarian…if she didn’t realize how special she was…we all did. She’s forever a gorgeous icon! ❤❤❤
@@tonymoruzzi She did indeed: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oC7Jy0x89FQ.html But I don't know if that makes her an intellectual. Relatively common for Europeans to speak multiple languages.
It's a very strange thing. I'm 53 and have always been an avid movie watcher. As a kid (in the UK) we only had three TV channels (later 4, then 5, now LOADS) If you wanted to watch something, you had little choice in what you watched a lot of the time. So during the 70s and 80s I grew up watching Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, James Stewart....further back to Laurel and Hardy, Harold Lloyd...and of course Pacino, DeNiro, Hoffman, Dreyfuss. Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergmann, Audrey Hepburn, Veronica Lake and on and on and on. I knew the modern stars, I knew the old stars. I knew who was good and who was just good looking. And now, a film from ten years ago is considered "old"!!!! And all those actors and actresses (and directors!) who were considered so iconic, so incredible are forgotten by all but the most ardent cinephiles. I teach Media and Film to students from 15-18, so I have a reasonable idea of their knowledge. I think they're missing out.
@@misteral1083 Because everyone can sit on their own tablet, phone or console, I think some of it is that kids aren't watching things with parents or grandparents. I was born in '89 but watched '70s and '80s movies with my dad and a few older films with my grandparents. You watched because there was nothing better you could be doing and then ended up becoming engaged. Nowadays kids have so many alternatives that they can retreat into their device rather than sit with something outside their immediate comfort zone or realm of interest. It's a shame because there are some truly amazing films and kids are certainly no less intelligent or thoughtful. They just aren't being supported to be more well-rounded in their media consumption.
Audrey Hepburn is 61-62 years old in that last interview and absolutely stunning. She would die two years later and this is the first time I’m realizing exactly how young she was when she died.
@@liasunshine7470 I was going to say "grace"! That's a large part of Audry's overall beauty. She is of course physically very attractive but it is made exponential by that natural, underlying grace.
@@toddsmitts If you have to scrape the barrel with Bruno Mars for a reference you probably never had a point to begin with. Hardly "shout outs from every generation" if you can only think of two people.
I’ve always felt like Michelle had that star quality that made her difficult to forget, and I’ve only seen her in one movie! Audrey has it in layers. She’s a person that is fascinating to watch. She also always seemed a bit sad; I wonder what being such a public figure took from her.
@@danialezero93 yes. War took that from her. PTSD. Abandoned by father. It all starts there and I'm sure was never addressed. Everything else was compounded ontop of that.
It hurts when you admire a person who didn't believe they were enough. Audrey Hepburn had charm, conviction, presence, and beauty in all her acting career. She cannot be touched by the actresses of today...
She seemed to not know what a wonderful actress she was, how great, and sweet and beautiful she was, It was a pleasure to watch her. A wonderful woman, a most beautiful human being. We loved her. May she rest in peace 🕊️
I don’t think she’s talking herself down but there are restrictions to the classic style of theatre acting compared to modern styles that are much freer for women
She was such a timeless beauty. In both appearance and demeanor. Actresses nowadays fight aging and many start to look almost inhuman because of it. Audrey aged gracefully and beautifully.
You only say that because she still fits your definition of beauty. How ironic when anybody decides to take beauty into their own hands, they are vilified for it.
@@stealthis A human with an inhuman face isn't a beautiful human. No one is vilified for it, people just state the obvious: they look weird. Its better to look like an old human than Jigsaw.
@@stealthis They're not taking their beauty into their own hands, they are taking their ageing into the hands of an overpaid plastic surgeon instead of dealing with it like a normal person.
I appreciate how genuinely humble and lacking in bitterness or spite she was, very gracious but also she was absolutely "smashing". She had that "IT" star quality that you just couldn't look away from. Like she had a gravitational pull and she honestly worked so hard.
She is so dead on about Cher, she is such an underrated actress. I’ve never seen an actress be able to just spout lines like she wrote them herself like she’s not even in a film. Wish she would have done more movies.
Michelle Pfeiffer and Audrey Hepburn, two iconic one of a kind all-time beauties, both inside and outside. Also, class through and through. If they were closer in age I bet they might've become very nice, close friends.
She wasn't the most versatile actress, but she's got a lot of incredible performances in her arsenal. Wait Until Dark, The Children's Hours, Charade ... she sells herself short.
I think she could maybe have done more versatile stuff but at the time it was all about the public image and she was typecasted but also was afraid to do anything out of the typical roles. Breakfast at Tiffany's was racy lol. I did enjoy her in My fair lady despite her not really singing. Yet to see Two for the road.
I think it was her humble honesty and charm that made people feel they were engaging with her on the screen that made her magical. There are many talented actors but she had something very special and audiences loved for it.
Michelle Pfeiffer has always captivated me not just her beauty but her talent-omg this amazing talent to make you feel like she's your friend from the screen & how she commands the screen when she's on it no matter what the role. Absolutely in my top 10!!
She was smart an objective, she was aware of her lack of training and that she might not be the tipically bombshell... But she had the star quality, radiant with charisma, the kind of presence that makes you don´t look away once she is on the screen. Even in this interviews is palpable, the way she carries herself, the way she talks. That quality is what made her an icon.
She was very humble indeed. Michelle Pfeiffer, Meryl Steep, Elizabeth Taylor are better actresses than her for sure, but it's great to hear she's saying that even though she's a LEGEND and super ICONIC.
....the thing i love is that i know Michelle is also very shy and humble and i know she probably fainted to hear about Miss Hepburn say that about her....
I met Audrey Hepburn and her husband Mel ,when they were still married. They ate at the a Japanese restaurant that i worked at in Century City, Ca. I was spellbound by her beauty ,her smile. We had many stars and beauty ,but she just was one of the beautys that i saw there, her smile just added aglow to her face.
Thank you for confirming what I'd always believed: That Michelle Pfeiffer was a very exceptional actress, as well as a whole class of her own in looks.
I don't think she didn't realize it, or lacked confidence. I think she had a sense of humility and poise that led her to give a reasonable accounting of her qualities without obsessing over them. She's quite correct in her appraisal of her acting abilities, in that she didn't play roles so much as occupy them. Which is fine, because her inner character happened to be as alluring, if not more than that of any character she portrayed. Her looks, shorn of her character are certainly attractive, but it's her character, poise and personality that did more to elevate her attractiveness than any particular physical characteristic.
So humble and generous. She truly was the definition of class. I watch Breakfast At Tiffany's when I want to feel empowered in a world that often tries to strip you of your power. She's an icon, through and through.
Stop comparing yourself Audrey. You were a wonderful actress! Full of joy and magic and skill as an immensely beautiful (both inside and out) human being!
She was the classiest more beautiful actress of her time ,she died a beautiful woman with no plastic surgeries at all ,something we can hardly find today, when everybody wants the mask as soon as possible ,and on top of all it she was a compassionate beautiful soul !
@Jasta Ykotuce no. If you see photos of her in Arnhem, or when she did ballet, her face is exactly the same as when she became famous. She just got older.
@@LH-kr4od She may have had nose refinement. I don’t have the option of sharing the photo, but it was illustrating how she had her teeth fixed. In the before pic, not only were here teeth crooked, but her nose was slightly bigger. Also her brows were not as thick. This is not to diss her but to point out she might have had some work done.
A friend of mine Geoff was a purser on British Airways and sometime in the late 80s Audrey Hepburn was flying LA to London on his flight. He was intrigued by her ‘Save the Children’ literature she was reading and asked her about it (unbeknown to him she was an STC ambassador). She asked him when his break was and if he wasn’t too tired he could sit next to her and she’d explain what she did and why she did it. Geoff joined her for his entire 4 hour break and they talked into the night. He told me she was without doubt the most wonderful human being he had ever met and even 20 years later, and long after Audrey was dead, he said it was the most inspirational encounter of his entire life. Utterly enchanting lady.
The fact that’s she able to so astutely analyze what those other stars do belies her modesty about her own talents. Audrey remains unique: she was someone who occupied her own category, apart and above everyone else - a true “star.” Her brilliant intellect radiates in this interview, but beyond that, she was a humanitarian activist. Her beauty merely provided a spotlight for her inner strength. #audrey
If I was to be like someone, I was to be like Audrey Hepburn. She had class , grace , beauty, talent , kindness, generosity, smart and a wonderful human being. A humanitarian. She was a wonderful mom too! May Audrey Rest in Peace 💐
She was so Humble. She May have considered herself Average, but certainly no one else ever did, as for me...I still think that she was the most Beautiful Woman that i have ever seen.
Oh how incredibly flattering to even be mentioned by Audrey Hepburn! I too think Michelle Pfeiffer is the bees knees…but I absolutely adore Audrey Hepburn!💗💗
I think it’s possible that Audrey Hepburn wasn’t an actress, but was just being herself reading some lines. One of my favorite movies of her is with Cary Grant in Charade. I could watch this movie over and over because of the chemistry between the two and of course, because she is so beautiful.
@@jaengen , Jack Lemon was one actor who claimed he was just being himself. John Wayne said his acting was based on listening and what the other actors were saying and how he would respond in a real life situation.
I had heard that John Wayne based his speech on listening to Wyatt Earp in his later years. My Great-Uncle has been a fan of westerns all his life and yet he dosen't like the voice of John Wayne, even though my Great Uncle admits Wayne made some great movies, he pointed to me one day while watching a movie with John Wayne and Henry Fonda and said "listen to Henry Fonda".
Audrey Hepburn is simply stunning, she's for sure the most beautiful woman who has ever walked the Earth - beautiful inside and outside. I truly believe her soul just shone out of her, she's radiating such a joyful, kind, heartful atmosphere. It's heartbreaking she didn't know how outstanding she was. She appeared and just lit the room. What an honor for all those great actresses to be adressed like that.
She's impressive for americans because she's everything an american woman can't be...she's the epitome of european aristocratic education ..well mannered in any occasions whatever she really thinks...well educated and a total lack of vulgarity wich was uncommon even in her youth in the fifties.
Hepburn is definitely one of those few talents of the “old days” of cinema who will always survive in the public imagination and gain new fans, one of a select few, like Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, and a small group of individuals who somehow seemed “bigger” than the movies or music or what have you. Hepburn’s elegance has staying power. Quite a lady.
Only if she could see how the world sees her today. I believe she is valued, if not more, then just as much by a whole new generation as she was in her prime. Born in 2001 and I have an amazing portrait tattoo of her on my left thigh. I thank my grandmother and her major pop culture following for the introduction :)
She’s was and will always be the most beautiful, influential and iconic superstar of all times, but she knew that this has nothing to do with talent and versatility
And yet a lot of those actresses are nearly forgotten except for classic movie buffs. Audrey Hepburn is still an icon for style and class and elegance. She is instantly recognisable.
Oh wow I didn't know that she knew and admired these actresses that were younger to her it shows how lovely she was I'm so glad we still have them among us and I wish we had Audrey too RIP Mam ❤️🙏🏻
This just shows how beautiful she is not only on the outside but also from the inside...she is a wonderful human being n so ladylike..total role models n true icon
My first knowledge of Audrey Hepburn was when I watched Roman Holiday where she co-stars with Gregory Peck. Her beauty and voice captivated me so I started to look for more movies that she was into. She had a great talent for dancing and fashion in Funny Face and her flair for contemporary styles of clothing in movies like Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Charade among many others helped make the fashion industry what it is today.
One of my favorite actresses, she has always been so humble just such a beautiful person in and out, I think she greatly downplays her capabilities of being an actress she had no idea how much of an incredible icon and inspiration she is till this very day.
Probably one of the greatest being very humble and gracious towards others. Only makes her look better. She may be right, idk. Haven't seen her stuff in awhile but I remember her being great.
She radiated star power like very very few moviestars managed to and every mm of her face was a miracle. She was beautiful fully, completely and gracefully.
There were many smashing actresses in the past, in present and will be in future but I hardly find anyone who matches Audrey Hepburn's elegance, grace her angelic aura and her timeless ethereal beauty from inside which even old age can't take away from her..
She is one of my favourite actresses of all time, she oozed beauty, class & dignity. I think she was an amazing actress & of her time. If she was starting acting today she may be more like modern actresses & as such 10 a penny. She was amazing.
