Hey North Star... This is going to be a "side-trail" comment with a personal flavor and a bit of reminiscing as your subscription count is knocking on the door of 6000 subscribers. With ten or less subscribers shy of 6K, I'd like to say congratulations on nearing that all-time high. Hiking is hard work. Vlogging a hike is even harder. It's like working a second job as you hike. But through all the misery, pains, fears, and setbacks you have consistently pushed forward with determination and grit, showcasing the joy and beauty of long-distance thru hiking. And all this was done while you flowed with the trail instead of fighting it, showing that a thru hiker is always adjusting and readjusting yet never able to get adjusted. You have always been transparent in showing us that your victories live beside your defeats, and that what really gets a thru hiker to the end point is not brute strength or the type of food or gear but what's in his heart. On a personal note, THANK YOU for keeping your videos "clean" so that they are appropriate for even the youngest children, for letting your faith flow out naturally without being forced and overbearing. And from someone who has done, and is still doing, what you're doing, thank you for always being an inspiration and a ray of bright light in a world that sadly grows increasingly dim. And tell ol' Joe, when you hit that 6K mark to do something really nice for you. You certainly deserve it.
Good morning Audrey! Beautiful rainbow and views. ❤ The weather there is a little unpredictable 😅 I love the break under the tree and your Hiking buddy and friend. 😉 You have a great sense of humor. As far as the foot goes you better get it checked out. I fell back in February and I thought I only sprained my foot when I hit my head but the ER did ex-rays and said that I had broken a bone in my right foot. It's finally healing and still painful but I'm not Hiking either. Haha 😂 the mud is torture and not safe or fun. 😅 Hope you can get some relief soon. Be careful, stay safe and enjoy your Hike. 🚶 🏕 🍳 🔥 😊 🙏
Girl you are tough. Having yo walk for hours in wet shoes, socks & feet suck. The views are so beautiful. Praying for you to get some dryer days on trail. ❤😊
Have you tried a lubricant for feet like Trail Toes? Their "Foot and Body Cream" uses petrolatum (aka Vaseline), dimethicone, and beeswax and is a lubricant and water repellent. They also make one with no beeswax but extra dimethicone that repels water even more, but I would try the regular one first. You can use it anywhere for blisters, abrasion, and chaffing, not just on feet.
North Star, while I'm neither a foot expert nor a long-distance hiker and won't be giving you any specific advice, I can say that taking care of your feet will keep you on the trail. And many of your RU-vid viewers are offering suggestions worth considering. In the meantime, thanks for sharing your adventure with humor and honesty -- everything from breakfast pizza to rainbows to Wilson references from Cast Away. Plus, a grand finale for the day when all hail breaks loose! 🍕🌈🏐⛈
Colorado is beautiful, I am being inspired to look into this hike I am in AZ but I’d do this hike b4 the AZ trail tbh , ur doing so good & I really hope u can get ur foot repaired ✌️
Nice video. Your foot looks bad. I'm hobbling because I dropped a door on my foot last week. I'm taking it easy. Do not push it. It is too easy to make foot injuries worse. I hope that you heal fast. Goob is on the Ice Age Trail and he had to go to waterproof socks. Don't you like schizophrenic weather? You might want to try foot powder. I learned to use it in the Army and 50 years later, I still use it. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
You are marching through God’s country. Your poor shoes look like they got murdered by the rocks . I do not think they are supporting your feet anymore . But by the time you put this video out, I’m sure you know that by now. Hang in there stay strong . But do not permanently injure that foot .
Hi Audrey trakyboy here. I don't know if you'll get this in time but is it possible for you to take a zero on trail ? I would like to see you rest your feet !!! Especially if you have a spot where there's signal but don't push yourself ok !! A hikers feet is everything !!!! 😮. Long distance hikers irritate the hell out of me because they don't have enough sense to carry a decent medical kit with them. 😠. And your property don't have a trash bag to Wrap your foot up in ? Ace bandage?? I bet somewhere in the back of your mind before you started this you were thinking that the trail was going to be peaches and cream !?! Please take good care of yourself girl... Okay??!!!!!!!
Don't think I'm a weirdo or anything, and I certainly don't have any foot fetishes, but your feet look great! Especially for a hiker!!!!😂🥰👍👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Oh no! I made the first part of this comment halfway through the video I guess I should've waited till the end!!! I almost went back and deleted the first part, but I said no I'll leave it! 😂😂😂
