Augmented reality vs. virtual reality: AR and VR made clear 

VR : the real in a virtual environment (scisors on a table with a laser gun, all floating on lava, doesn't have to respect the real world environment, and you cannot interact with these virtual objects with real objects : can't use a gun by holding a banana) use : games, relaxing, movies... AR : the virtual in a real environment (modifies reality by adding objects, modifying the "texture" of things : the walls become glass, a banana gets legs and arms, but you can interact with these objects by interacting with real objects) use : additional data on plane parts for engineers to see with AR glasses, later on maybe you would be able to have interactive movies with AR objects in cinemas you can pick up without it ruining the film

I honestly feel like virtual reality just "takes you out of the real world" and "puts you into an animated world." Like it just removes you from the reality of the real world and let's you enter a world of "cartoons" so to say. Where as augmented reality keeps you in the reality of the real world and just allows you to see and use your phones, PC's/laptops game consoles ect while they are just floating right in front of you without having to even pull your phone out of your pocket or open your laptop and that you are the only one who can see anything. AR allows you to see the screen of your device right in front of you while still being able to clearly see your surroundings. You can walk down a busy sidewalk and see your device right in front of you while still being able to maneuver without running into anyone or anything. Also, the AR glasses are a billion times more fashionable and don't draw any attention from anyone. Nobody's gunna know that you're watching a football game or a movie when wearing and using them while the VR headsets are super bulky, heavy, really ugly and extremely obvious. I prefer the augmented reality over virtual reality for many reasons, but mainly because it keeps you in reality and allows you to use your devices without looking down, being distracted and having the potential of bumping into things or running into people.

I believe is probably the way to go, but unfortunately, VR has a very illustrative name VIRTUAL, what we do need is "imagination for creation, not imagination to replace reality" and VR is mostly used for just replace reality, to make VR useful for our species we need to reinvent the whole concept at this point we don't need it as many other technologies only hurt humanity instead of being of use, one sample is how young generations are trap in tech gadgets without having the minimal survival skills, are millions of books available for free now on the internet but how many we read? at the end of the day young people WASTE the majority of their time in social media and playing games captured by their phones and becoming more and more ignorant day by day what makes them vulnerable; easy to manipulate and enslave, all those millions of cell phones users that don't have any video on how the tech works if by any chance we had a global catastrophe worse than Covid-19 without the old generations the new ones are a FAILURE unable to survive because don't have the minimal knowledge to do it and VR is playing a HUGE role making people more ignorant and destroying young lives while AR can improve our lives in many ways, then I will say we don't need VR at all actually is a harmful technology

You all are not the ones in power, to reshape history. In the end... You mortals are products of their matrix. Prone to keep up that Codex... Extinction wil test humanity's worth. Yet, they claim of the One or of other realms to be separate from other religions upon their own making... For what created the Gods? Why ask such a temporary question? Yet, the God Slayer is not of mankind, so I question the mortal humans... Do mortals believe that they all are special in this singular dimension? The Gods have come and gone. More times than what human can comprehend from their scriptures. For even the greatest of human religions do not proclaim what shall be beyond the reach of Earth nor before the first manifestation of souls, through dimensions and time. Yet humans claimeth to the hour. Upon their souls, they will stand before their dead Gods. As the previous mankind once did eternities ago. To finally dismantle what I have done. I do not need mankind if they fail. I can do this on my own. But I chose mankind as the flip of that coin. VR does reconstructions of the world for 'mixed reality', and that gives you more ability to change the world or move to other places.

That Oculus Go only does 3 DOF and you can't walk around in it. There is the rift and the Quest will let you move around. Rift needs a PC, the Quest will not.

VR will have cameras but it will reconstruct the world rather than have pass through. That was everything can be changed.

@@zachbarker5354 Necesity, that's the main problem, right now we face global known threats as overpopulation, starvation, lack of essential needs, and while you are investing in entertainment because you are lucky to don't be starving we also have unkwon threats that will increase the hardship, the planet is at the edge of become hostile for life at this rhythm we will destroy the planet and make it uninhabitable in this century, our dreams to colonize other planets is too far to become true what means we are in a race against time, our species survival depends on it and only a fool can't see it coming, EXTHINNCTION is the possibility with highest percentage and you are thinking in entertainment O.o we need imagination for creation not to replace reality>>>>>>>>>

@@blancostudio3d While I do agree with your points I think a little relaxation and having fun is not a bad thing. Just like going to the movies, a bar, or a theme park. No they aren't going to help the planet or solve any of the world's problems but that's not their purpose. So i think an hour or two of VR each week is not a bad idea.
