C J Hurn What is a healing circle? Sorry I'm just curious

Great question - thank you for asking! Rather than tell you what it is, I will try to help you experience it. Experience is always better because you never forget - it becomes a part of your conscious self. Light a candle, Sit quietly, and take two or three deep cleansing breaths. Think for a moment of the animal(s) or being(s) that you wish to bring to the healing, to receive whatever it is they need. You don't have to know what they need - just trust that their higher self knows, and you are merely channeling the energy or focus, like an amplifier. If you can, visualize them for a moment; if not, think of their name, and in the case of a beloved companion animal, add the owner's face and name. Allow your self to feel deep gratitude for each of these recipients, whether it is one or a few. With your heart now opened to the universe, mentally invite others who sit like you in meditative contemplation with appreciation for the miracle of life and for the love of each being. See in your mind's eye a circle of light connecting all of you. The circle might spin or glow or pulse - whatever it does, just observe it quietly and know that we are all connected; know that when sit with our hearts in a circle of deep gratitude awareness, this connection opens our ability to channel Universal (God's)unconditional love, light, and healing energy. Stay in the circle for a few minutes, maybe 10 - 30, as the candle flickers. When your mind seeks busy thoughts, take your imagination back to gratitude and the faces of the beings receiving what they need. Imagine placing them on a large golden or silver platter, and just hand them up to God. Say thank you. Release them to the loving presence, bless the circle, and once more give thanks to your circle members. Then gently close the opening to your heart, just as you would close your front door when you come inside from the cold. Take the candle and blow it out, watching the smoke rise and know that your prayers of gratitude are doing whatever is needed for the healing recipient(s). Then get up, shake your body, hold your hands under running water and then have a drink of filtered water. The circle continues, but you have left your seat. Go back to the circle regularly, such as once a day or once a week and you'll begin to recognize more and more how easily and beautifully the power of positive prayer/intercession/appreciation heals the intended soul-beings. Never ask how; never try to command what needs to be done; just put the subject of your desire into the presence of God and give thanks that they will receive whatever their higher self needs. This sounds really long, but it's so simple. I usually enter my circle once or twice a week and I take about 15 minutes. Sometimes when I blow the candle out though, it feels like no time has passed, yet the clock is an hour later. Amazing.
