@@drewsss49 for sure that makes sense, I think the band has been so damn consistent with its members since I was about 17 so any changes and I’m like 👀
It's even the way, that dustin plays the lead part ... So that brent-> dustin & dustin-> jb ... All mixed up ... And I'd love to see jake drumming while matt takes on the vocals 😅
JB wrote somewhere upon release of Guardians - maybe in a tab book or something? - that he and Dustin wrote pretty much all the songs on Guardians, splitting it half and half. He's written a bunch in the past too like Sincerity and some of Pangaea, among others. I like his writing style a lot.
The stage presence of this band is so amazing. I mean. The bassist taking lead guitar. The lead guitarist taking rhythm and the rhythm guitarist taking bass... Just imagine seeing that live... Fuxking amazing.
Gave these guys a listen to many many many a moon ago. And my reaction was "meh not bad". Then one day they played Edmonton Alberta with I wanna say Silverstein. And naturally my gf being a fan of Silverstein got tickets. So we go. I consume the normal amount of overpriced concert beers that one needs to consume and these guys play. And Im vibing them. Then at the end of their set as everyone cheers. My drunk ass let's out the loudest woo that had ever graced my lungs and voice box. And who happens to hear my woo? The drummer. For he looks up to where the woo originated from and we lock eyes and I'm guessing he thought "damn that was a mighty woo. You sir deserve a drum stick for that" cuz sure as shit after we locked eyes and did the "sup" head nod that men do. I see a drum stick flying in the air towards me. And you bet your bottom my drunk ass caught that drum stick(which was a accomplishment all in its own right). Now I love this band. Not only cuz there music is good. But because HE HEARD MY WOO. To this day that is in my top five me moments of greatness.
This is easily one of my favorite ABR music videos. You guys really know what you're doing and your skills collectively as a band really show! You guys are the best!
@@Chattsteezy definitely the heaviest but I don't know if it's enough for me to like it more than The Narrative. This album has been a journey, every song sticks like glue to you, it's so good
ABR NEVER seizes to amaze me....ever since the first time I seen them live at a VFW hall in the Hartford, CT area in 2005 every song off every one of their albums has completely blown my mind! They are DEFINITELY like a fine whiskey that gets more and more amazing with age!🤘😝🤘
I was a teen when I grabbed Thrill Seeker and started to learn to scream. These guys taught me many things, about how to treat people and how to persevere. Now I'm 30, going to see them for the third time in October, with my wife who's almost as endeared to them as I am. I'm no sob story kid, but if they were aiming to make a difference at all they made a difference in me.
Take it from someone who is 32 and still just as in love with their music as I was when I was a teen. My sister loves these guys too and is your age and she’s the only other person I know who likes them and can actually geek out about them with. I completely understand where you and your wife are coming from. I hope you guys have a wonderful time at the show and stay safe, my friend ✌🏻
@@danielprudhoe647 lmao heavy for their genre. It’s metalcore dude, of course there is heavier, but I think the op was saying they’ve stayed heavier within their sound and genre.
I missed this on the previous album I guess because I’ve been listening to this song non-stop since the vid dropped yesterday. The solo leading into the breakdown is soul-cleansing it’s so good 😩
I KNEW SOMEONE WAS GOING TO SAY IT! The switch threw me up too! Next video JB is going to be on bass Jake on lead guitar, Matt screaming and Dustin on drums. Calling it right now 😂😂😂
Was at a show once and JB was playing next to this stack of monitors. They were damn near as tall as he was. At some point right in the middle of a song he hikes his leg up to the top of the monitor in the most awkward way possible. Dude looked uncomfortable as all hell. But he stayed there for a solid minute like, "Welp, I have committed, must see through." He eventually brought his leg back down but his foot came down minus one flip flop. It sat there...atop the monitor.. He walk around a little bit a kept looking at the flip flop, then to the side of the stage, then back to the flip flop, obviously asking for help. Jake kind of pointed to the ground, I believe he was pointing to spots where he had spit. JB kind of clumsily walks around and finally a stage guy comes from the side and grabs his flip flop, the crowd went nuts. He puts it on JB's foot and thumbs up him and then the crowd. All of ABR was laughing and the crowd went fucking nuts. Great show.
Isn’t it just a pleasing gesture that Jake gives a little wink at the beginning of the video?? It’s like he’s saying, “Yeah… sorrynotsorry for what you’re about to hear….” #greatestsongEVER
I saw August burns red when I just got into the metal scene in 2004ish I think and saw them at a small show and didn't even realize who they were. Now one of my favorite bands.
