These guys don't get the respect that they deserve...and about the crowd moving. I've seen them 6 times and i've never seen it so dead. They own out here in So Cal. We love them.
wowo this was actually Jake when he joined the band.. thank you a lot for the share back then.. I was like 13 back then and didn't know them.. I heard them in 2009 for the first time
It's very curious to watch the first videos of a band that has become big with time: few views and likes, comments stating how underrated they were... and they are at their 20th annyversary now, playing all over the world :)
devin, agreed bro... i saw these guys with the devil wears prada, haste the day and norma jean, pit was intense... i've watched about 20 cornerstone concert videos.. and purple door puts all of them to shame... ( crowd wise ) yeah there might be a mosh of maybe 10 ppl.... purple door's was at least 60+ ppl go search Purple Door August Burns Red and look at that circel pit ;)
August Burns Red OWNS ppl who hate t hem have no taste in good music they are amazing if u want hardcore see them with as i lay dying oo wait you havent what a shame I HAVE!!!!! i met the drummer and Tim from as i lay dying abr is amazing
hah yeah he was talking about guitar riffs, and he wasn't saying that as i lay dying was better, he was putting them down lol. But ABR's drummer is hands-down one of the best drummer's ever. As far as creative/technical bands, I think that Between the Buried and Me is right up there, I'd have to say the Human Abstract and Protest the Hero too. But there are too many to list lol
Some one mentioned that aild has been around longer. It wasn't until this last album where aild acctually incorporated something into songs called "solos". AILD themselves can be broken down into 2 categories. comparison here between the 2 bands is not an option. Old aild and New aild... 2 different sounds. Im sure ABR will do just the same and progress with each cd as most good bands do
Woah-okay I have to say, Matt Greiner (ABR) would own Jordan Mancino(AILD) at a drum off..hands down, hes sooo much more creative and technical with his feet and his hands, not too much mention faster!! The kid is a freaking prodigy. Also a Good writer and performer, noone could take him in the metalcore/hardcore scene..well I would like to see a drum off between him and the Red Chords drummer. That one might actually be close, but the drummer from TRC is like 35 or something haha..Im done now.
well AILD has been around a while longer than ABR, BUT I respect both bands equally. Matt is better though. I agree BTBAM and protest the Hero are phenomenal too! But Matt I think would still own them in the long run, if he can write these kinds of things for his band, then imagine what else he could do too.
Awesome band, but two things: A) How come the sound keeps getting louder and quieter, more treble and more bass etc? B) How come everyone's just fucking standing still? Christ, you'd think it was a funeral.
Matt stated some time ago in a interview that they dont consider themselves as a "christian band", they are a metal band and thats all, if they love god they show that but making songs, or practicing christianism, but you should know that not always a band is considered "christian" just because their members are, they make songs about anything, it can be about god, it can be about any random fact of their lives, they cant be considered a christian band like underoath. theyre only about the music
shit!! this guy can play... they sound awsome..i never thought they were that good. The guitar players r so cordinated with the drummer nd that's quite hard----so u better bow to ABR. =) there comes a point that i can actually hear some death metal band onstage haha.
True. and I agree to an extent. But to me the term "Christian Band" would come from the fact that they promote God/Christianity through their lyrics...although they focus a lot on the music, the focus a lot on the meaning of lyrics as well. In any ways though this is a matter of opinion. Regardless of what we settle on the band is still good. But you do make a good point.
As I Lay Dying uses melodic singing, for one. ABR never does that. Two, ABR has so much technicality in 1)their breakdowns, 2)their drummer. It's a very different beast. AILD is more traditional metal, very little hardcore influence, especially the new stuff, and ABR is all about very technical breakdowns. I don't know how you can say they are the same band. Maybe diminished musical observance? Listen to Destroy the Runner. Now THAT is an AILD clone.
Hm maybe it's the same way there as at Creation. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Cuz you actually can't "mosh" there. If you do, then you actually do have to "get the fuck out." It sucks. But yeah. The lack of any motion is disappointing however, and I don't get it either.
Yeah I agree but Creation west is pretty much cursed cuz of that girl that almost died or something and now they're all paranoid and stuff. I was gonna go see 7 Horns 7 Eyes because I heard they were actual death metal but I missed it. Then I heard from people who know good metal that it was the worst death metal show they'd ever seen. It all depends on what one's looking for in a concert. Just moshing and violence, or just quality music? Personally I prefer a good balance.
you're so cool...actually, in case you didn't know, ABR is a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N BAND....so why would you make such an ignorant statement about Christians?
AAUUGGHHHH this crowd sucks big bolas why dont they realize that not everyone can set a chance to see ABR live. I only saw one or two ppl enjoying it out in front.
a): current freaken problem with non pro cameras, it happens all the time. It's sumthing bout the acoustic of the place or he was just tapping the speaker with the finger haha. b) the crowd was fuking amazd by the band...anyways the crowd's gay haha.
Dude, you and everyone else needs to understand: this is METAL! Not fucking hardcore. What the fuck. And don't tell me metalcore because Norma Jean AND As I Lay Dying are called metalcore? That's just bullshit. Grow up and have the musical maturity to actually know what a genre entails instead of making one up.
