August Fishing Big River Smallmouth Bass on Topwater! 

I was hoping this spot would be a winner again and it sure as heck was. Using the Heddon Super Spook Jr. on a 6'6 medium power extra fast action St. Croix Bass X rod. Paired with a Daiwa Tatula 120 CT Reel with twenty pound braid. Tossing the lure right into the current it almost works itself with even the slightest twitches. Measured just shy of 18" and weighed 3.12 pounds! One of my best catches of 2024 for sure. Super fun morning to be on the water after the rain stopped. Was rewarded with this beautiful Smallmouth Bass.
