Haha, sometimes even with warnings I need to try a book for myself. It helps lower my expectations though.

I always get at least one book to add to my TBR from your videos and I like that they push me outside my usual reads. My favorite book so far in August has been Fall Out by Carrie Stuart Parks.

Going to have to try Long Way Back soon it sounds right up my alley. I’m not much into non fiction but you made Life is Hard … sound really good so may have to try that as well.

I did read/listen to "Everything We Didn't say" and liked it too. I own "After the Leaves Fall", but haven't read it yet. I'm intrigued by "You Were Always Mine". I recently finished "The Little Liar by Mitch Albom, 5 ⭐.

I just read the first two volumes of Snow White with the Red Hair this month, and I think I like the anime better 😅 There are so many times when it's hard to tell what's going on in the manga, especially the action scenes, and it's a lot easier to see in the anime when it actually plays out on screen. The best books I've finished so far this month are Mere Christianity and The Gray City by Torben Kuhlmann. The latter was listed as a graphic novel on NetGalley, but it reads more like a picture book for upper middle grade/lower YA because it's usually one large picture on one page and quite a bit of text on the other. But it was still a really good story.

Lol my mom and sister and I enjoyed the monkey sherlock story and we have such fond memories when reading it. My friend was saying bye and left but he knew what we were reading and so he went outside by the window and banging on the window and making aggressive monkey sounds. And we all screamed so loud and he rushes back in 'ARE Y'ALL OK??? I HEARD YALL SCREAM'😂😂😂

I read The Homeschool Experiment, which is a novel with a homeschool mom as the main character. I didn't like it much in the beginning, but it grew on me.

I'm a little younger than you but I got 97% of the references in Ready Player One, for me that made it even worse bc of how lazy and shallow they are. Also knowing things about video games The Oasis has a couple massive easily fixable problems that make it make no sense. (Part of why it got 0☆)
