I usually face issues with questions that have to do with Inferences, command of evidence, and other questions that have to do with a lot of reading. I have problems giving full concentration sometimes and i tend to lose focus and end up having to read the passage a few times and not having a clear idea in mind. Eventually, i just rush through it.

First off, just wanted to say that your videos for the DSAT have been such a huge help for me this year and I appreciate all the work you've put into your videos! Secondly, I'm planning on taking the August SAT to improve from my March SAT, and I was wondering if you any tips for questions dealing with purpose or context of sentences (for example, question types where they ask about a characters emotions or thought process behind what they see)?

Hey! Thanks for the video. I doing pretty good in the math section, but I am struggling in the english section. As a non-native speaker, I find vocab and command of textual evidence questions challenging. Do you have any tips for those kinds of questions specifically? Would really be grateful to hear from you. Thank you!

I'm still trying to increase my English score. I'm doing better on the maths section The vocabulary question took me off my feet on the test day, and some questions were kind of long.

Yes! The key is to pinpoint the synonym to the word you need to pick. Usually a word or phrase before or after the colon, semicolon, or sentence the blank is in!

Hey guys! I also wanted to share my thoughts/strategies for the *paper* test that I think really helped me! (Included below)

READING Experiment with different things online, I first tried reading the passage slowly and rushing questions but I never retained well and got bored; then, I tried reading questions before and marking the passage section and I guess “paying more attention” to the bracket sections; the. I tried answering question and only referring back to the passage when needed (weird back and forth thing the Princeton Review book tells you). I was using a weird combo of these to try and do smth smart idk but I just kept getting like -12 questions wrong over and over. But now recently, I read a Reddit reply to one of my annotation posts I was trying to see would be reasonable and someone said smth along the lines on how “this is a reading comprehension test, not a puzzle” and Idk it sorta clicked. I’ve recently bought Erica Metzler and right away a couple pages in I get her method which word amazing Pay attention to the last 1-2 sentences of the first paragraph (gives idea of topic) Then go through reading the text but at a quick surface level without stopping to reread and understand every single word (because frankly there will be numerous times the section you’re could not even be asked in the questions so why risk wasted time?) While reading make sure to circle key idea/transition words (however, similarly, to agree with, least of all, regardless…etc), if you read her book you’ll start to develop a feeling for these words and practice that speed underlying and stuff when she does a mock question where the text is to the left and you can practice the skill. Finally, last paragraph focus in and focus well on the last 1-2 sentences which typically give the resolution and/or restates the main topic of the writing. Because this method taught me to move fast and think more about where the overall structure the passage was heading towards, I crunched my reading time from 8 minutes to 4-6. Which then gave me more time for questions, and I already had a feeling where some questions were answered say lines 54-60, so I can automatically rule out a b and d (3-6, 12-20, and 79-80 idk). I did main idea questions and stuff like this: either answer it right away if I already know what to talk about OR If I can’t figure the answer choices clearly, erase, circle and move on to other and come back to this question immediately after answer the others (hopefully the main idea should stick out like a sore thumb). Also the Princeton review taught me when I wanted evidence to support my answer, I should pair both questions like this: A. A B. B C. C D. D. And do like a weird arrow and point and stuff. Idk, this never really worked for me especially because so have a good intuition. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9Y5UOVGR1qc.html social science ->history -> random dual passage-> hard STEM passage(like ones in bio etc.). The idea of the SAT is to only get the necessary information and to do it as quick as possible. Honestly Erica Metzler-rlly the first 10 pages-helped me see the exam in a whole methodical approach. It’s like math, you have to be literal and see all the variations on the exam. Also, reading helps, like I write in my book I’m reading just those key transition words and do bursts of speed reading to see how to implement the technique. Okay, this is kinda long, definitely check out both the vid and the book lol This method ^ got me 46/52 when I could never get past 40. I think the main idea for the SAT is experimenting and seeing what clicks because doing something over and over again with no results isn’t doing anyone any favors (I mean long term btw, you shouldn’t always expect your score to increase in 10 puts automatically, it might even decrease lol).

WRITING For grammar I’ve always loved linguistics and a grammar geek so it was more intuitive. But definitely do the same thing with grammar like maths. For me, I skip until the begging of the sentence, or 2 sentences b4 if I want more context, where I’m asked a grammar question. Then whenever you see blocked numbers or wtv (like [1] [2] [3] etc) I DO actually read it so I understand the context and sometimes I underline like 3 words so I can recall what the sentence/paragraph is talking about. Answer grammar questions as usual, that weird where does this fit? The underline helps Method I seriously recommend doing grammar test, every time you get a question wrong, get paper, write the kind of question and why the correct answer is correct. Then also note what the other choice would NEED in order to be correct. The method above is the best I think. You learn both the correct answer AS WELL AS how to make the others correct. So if you are given a future question, you’re more likely to have interacted with the answer choice and understand how it can be right/wrong. I recommend using khan academy and like 3 practice tests or so On this past June test I got a 35/40

Now my ask, anyone gotten from 46->52 or for writing 35->40? I need help in I guess that final stretch, it honestly might just be endurance train fun at this point idk any help is good lol

I am 99% sure I have undiagnosed ADHD and I believe its to late to get an accommodation for my August SAT b/c Im on summer break and my counselor needs to do something I think in order for me to get that accommodation. I seriously cannot comprehend a passage like other people, even texts. It takes me around 8 minutes to read a passage and when I turn to answer questions, I barely remember what I just read. Time is my only issue. I GOT A 520 ON THE JUNE PAPER SAT READING SECTION

Hello hi. I saw your recommendation to rising juniors, which is good. I am a rising senior and about to take the August DIGITAL SAT this summer. I need to boost up my score in order to get into prestigious university. So what opinion do you have in prepping for the paper as well as dsat?or Would prepping for paper sat be helpful for dsat takers? I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for all your help!!!

Good question! If you’re international, you will not have the option to take the paper test. You must take the dsat! Hope that helps clarify.

I got a 650 in English and 800 in the math in june(my first attempt). I didn’t study for more than 10 days(rlly bad but my first practice test is 1200😂); therefore it’s obvious that I won’t get the good score. I rlly want to get a 1550 but currently I don’t know how to start🥲 I have difficulty in vocabulary sections!! 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
