Some questions... 1. Can you still use a regular key? 2. What happens if you are home, will the door remain unlock all three time? 3. Can you lock/unlock from inside, without a phone?

Can you still manually turn the August lock to unlock from the inside?

What about the battery?

Cool video, the only thing you didnt mentioned or perhaps I didnt hear. Is if you can open the door from thr inside manually. For example, an emergency, earthquake or if the wifi is down can you unlock the door from the inside???

So friends and family or whomever have to have the app to unlock the door?

i have owned the august smart lock 3rd gen for over a year. it continues to fail approximately 50-75% of the time. I followed supports directions and removed the batteries, refreshed both phones Bluetooth and cache. The phones still don't connect. the app fails to connect, asks me if i am close to the lock, i back out, turn off/on bluetooth the lock connects and i can get in. same on both phones. this lock is undependable on android. this lock has had short periods where it worked as it should but most of the time it is a huge frustrating disappointment

Do you get notifications when the batteries are about to die (it is time to replace the batteries)?

Is there a way to manually unlock it without the phone or alex/google devices? As great of a feature to unlock but what if my phone was upstairs and i needed to unlock my door right away for whatever reason? Is it possible to manually turn the device to unlock it? Would hate to think i have to go upstairs and grab my phone to unlock my door 😂

I have one question voice assisted Alexa .. Does Alexa/Siri/Google assistant has voice recognition .. I mean anyone can Alexa open the door it will open the door .. you know what I mean .. please clarify

How safe are these lock can they pop the lock off and open it

Looks a little to polarizing/goofy for my taste. Functions just like anyother smart lock though, so that good.

One other question. If I am inside and the door is locked, will it Auto Unlock when I approach it to leave or will I have to turn it manually?

I got a Kwikset Premis used for $90 and it does everything this one does AND has a built in keypad.

Isnt the whole reason for a smart lock to be more secure by not letting people attempt to pick the lock? You would still be using the same lock on the outside , right?

My door has a window just like your door at 4:14 . I noticed there are two doors. Would this fit with the window because the dead bolt is close to the window just like yours

Wanted to give it a try, unfortunately, I can't install it because one of the side wing latches is being blocked by door trim.

Does it have the ability to work as a door ring or at least send alerts when someone wants to get in? My younger brother sometimes forget his keys and he cannot take his phone to school so he has no way of calling when he gets home.

How come you start on one door with a glass frame and then the product is installed on a different door at the end? Was there an issue during installation?

What about break ins or forcing the door open? I live in a condo and I’m just thinking of someone forcing the door open. Will the lock inform you of an unauthorized entry and/or beep or something to scare away intruders? And if it doesn’t is there any smart lock that does?

I have this August app in my phone, it was perfect until, I opened the door again and left the app on... when I tried to lock it, I can't get back on the app again... I was sent on a keychain page of the app

Be careful if you buy an August lock second hand. If the previous owner doesn't relinquish ownership, you have an expensive paperweight. August customer service is terrible with this.

Does not work with defiant locks

The lock dont unlock automaticaly like he should. Not very useful. You have to use your phone to unlock or lock your door. Better use a key

That thing is an eye sore. Great convenience and technology but there has to be a better way to do this.

The overall video is great, but your setup is misleading. If you check it out, you'll see that early in the video you are setting up on a back door with a window installed in the door. That's the same type door I have. I thought, "perfect” except you later switch doors. The reason I'm annoyed is because I was installing it on the door with the window. I thought that the setup would be easy like you said. It wasn't. Now, it's not your fault, because the door itself doesn't allow enough space between the window and the lock. I think you should have mentioned that in your video instead of switching doors.

How long have you been testing the lock and why so late in the game with this video? This is not a new product.

Can you still use a key for the dead bolt? Is there a limit on guests that you can invite to the app? Does the proximity feature work for guests? What kind of batteries does it take? Typically how long do the batteries last? Is there a feature that tells you remaining battery life? Dude, learn to do a proper review.
