Augustin Hadelich & Joyce Yang - FRANCK Violin Sonata, 2nd movement 

Having grown up with the Amadeus Quartet as family friends and having been surrounded by many many musicians as a child, including my grandfather, who was a pianist, I believe I can identify a good musician when I hear one. These two are absolutely spellbinding.

Finally a camera looking over the musicians' shoulder. This what you see when you play.

Augustin and Joyce are such a stunning duo in this video, reflecting so sensitively the roller coaster ride of this movement of the Franck violin sonata - alternating the tender with the tumultuous so perfectly!! That ending is incredible!! Bravissimo! And how is it that Joyce can look over at and watch Augustin for longer periods while she is playing and not look at the music, and not lose her focus or place? Truly a unique synergistic partnership!

What a dynamic duo... Not only is the interpretation tastefully divine, but the cinematography is stunning as well. Bravissimo!
