What a wonderful song. I am from Pari Village in the NCD Port Moresby and I honestly have a great natural liking for all Tongan Songs and I love all Tongan Love Songs. I have a natural liking for all 😊the Tongan Love songs. Every time I listen to all Tongan Song I remember Late Dr Leiukamea Sa’afi who was more like a big brother to me and my big brother and sister when he was studying BachelorMedicine & Surgery degrees in Port Moresby from 1969 to 1972. In 2012 I visited Tonga with my beautiful wife for the PISA ( Pacific Islands Surgeons Association meeting) and stayed with him and his beautiful wife and daughters . Every time I hear this song I think of our brother late Lei Sa’afi seniorand a prominent ENT Surgeon Meeting l truly miss him
Verse 1 I stayed away and ruminated Searching through the book of memories Your character I contemplated Oh, could you teach me how to swim? Verse 2 Overwhelmed but still longing My desire for you The words of the Psalms are true Be merciful to wanderers Verse 3 I will swim even in the strong current So that you may understand This love is given to you I'll be the answer to your command Verse 4 I'll navigate to reach the harbour So I can see your face I will endure the storms and swells Just to reach your home
Maloelele Greetings to all composers of Tongan songs I truly and honestly love Tongan songs since I was teenager.Somehow it’s just natural for me. When I feel a lot of pressure buildup then I play them so it has a remedial effect. -
