No worries dear 😊 we r here to help! point 8 pr cloud’s end and nanda devi h...nanda devi wooden huts h n cloud’s end like a hotel...ski resort neeche h jahan se chair lift leke uppar aate h point 8 par...aap apne convenience se kahin b ruk sakte ho...hum Cloud’s end islye ruke the coz humein nanda devi nahi mila...clouds end pr thoda water supply prob h due to some issue...they fill buckets for you..and as per them Nanda devi mein nahi h...baaki ski resort mein saari facilities h...wahan b humne one night stay kiya tha.. aur b kuch ho to do ask us😊 Thank youu 🙏🏻

Hi Surabhi&Manish This was very useful. A few questions if you are kind enough to answer - Question 1 - Planning to travel during Christmas - December end 2021. Do you think there will be snow? From your videos it looks like snow seems quite less near the Cloud End area Question 2 - Is there a ski lift separate from chair lift. The ropeway map at joshimath seemed to indicate a skilift. Is the skilift walkable from GMVN Ski Resort and how much is the charge perday? Question 3 - One way to reach the ski resort seem to be Joshimath -> Rope Way Up -> Chairlift down. Is it possible to drive to the ski resort directly even during winter/snow time? Question 4 - Does it make sense to hire a taxi from Dehradun anyway we are flying from the South through delhi. Or is it better to get off at Delhi and then take taxi to Auli.

Hello Vjay, thank you! yes we will answer all your queries 😊 1. Can’t commit for snow..check the weather fc though it was a complete failure at our time. Cloud’s end and Nanda devi are at the top..which means u will get to see more snow from ski resort. 2. No..when we went there were only two means to travel to point 8..chairlift from skiresort and ropeway is from Joshimath. 3. Ropeway (INR 1000 Round trip same day) is not meant to reach Ski resort , it will take you to point 8 and back to Joshimath. You will be given limited tome to spend at point 8 and cloud’s end/nanda devi are bit away from point 8 so u won’t be having sufficient time to explore it well. Chairlift is from ski resort to cloud’s end which costs INR 500 and it’s a round trip ticket..like we went one day and came back the other day. And yes you can certainly drive till ski resort. 4. Makes sense to take taxi from Dehradun..For us it took 14,15 hours to reach Auli from Delhi..if you can travel after travelling from south..then go for it otherwise take halt and travel thru taxi from Dun(better). I hope this helps! You can ask if any doubt we will help as much as we can.

@@manishrawatvlogs Thanks very much, appreciate the super fast and detailed response. Just for that an additional "Subcribe" :-). Btw, I called up the hotels. Historically, they don't recommend travelling in December if we are planning to ski. They said if you are very lucky you could get snow by December end. For regular skiiers, each time paying 500 bucks seems expensive for the chair lift. Dont they have a day pass. Considering 1 run will take 20-30 mins. I might have to use the chair lift 10-15 times.

Hello Vjay, honestly yours is a very specific situation and needs to be googled well as we had gone as vanilla tourist. Maybe you can speak to the ski resort or hotels for the pass as that was something which we didn’t discuss at that point of time. Hi Anuj, I guess you removed the other comment where we replied 😀 Per records the best month is Jan-Feb, but yes there is lot of change in weather now. We went from 23-25 as snow was forecasted but didn’t happen. The last snow had fallen on 6th Jan. Acc to us staying in Joshimath is just waste of time..do stay at the top at least one day to experience sunrise. Also if u will stay in cloud’s end keep two things in mind - 1st there is crunch of water no tap water due to some issue and they fill buckets for u and the staff is little bit casual..I heard no such water crunch in Nanda devi resort. How much time should it take to complete Gorson bugyal trek, how many km from Auli ski resort?

Hi Arunima, Gorson Bugyal trek is 3Kms from Auli. Generally, the trek is spread along 2 days & 1 night. Camping is highly recommended. Overall duration is 24 hours approx start to end. It is a large land of green pastures surrounded by coniferous forest and oak trees. En-route Gurson Bhugyal allows you to have a panoramic view of Mt. Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat, Doonagiri, Bithartoli, Neelkanth, Hathi Parbat, Gori Parbat, Nar Parbat, and Kamet. The Gorson Bugyal Trek is one of the most popular treks in the Garhwal Himalayan region with alpine meadows and is a treat to the eyes. The above details are related to camping...from point 10 it is only 1.5kms..and from ski 3kms...you can start in the morning and come back by evening..but make sure to be along with someone who knows the way to gorson bugyal..or you can hire a Guide..Also in Snow it wud b bit difficult comparatively and do take all the trekking precautions...

Hi Rishi, All mobile operators have decent coverage (we made few video calls from Airtel & Vodafone Idea) but once you reach Point 8 or Point 10, you might face some difficulty in coverage. We are planning for 2-3 nights stay at Auli with kids (4yrs and 8yrs old) during the last week of December. Looking forward to your recommendations and inputs to the following questions - 1. Hi Anirban, Thank you for appreciation! ☺️ 1. There are high chances of getting snow at Auli in Dec but do check the weather forecast in advance. 2. Well its very safe, no hassles at all. 3. We would recommend you to choose Ski Resort in place of Eco Resort as it is prone to water supply issues ( we experienced it) 4. Carry amble winter wear for every one. Rest is all available at resort. Cheers!

Hey Anirban, one correction..no water supply issue in Nanda devi it’s only in clouds’s end resort..cloud’s end is a hotel and Nanda devi is separate cottages..go for it..

Hi Ghumtaram..thenkss for the nice comment 😊 Coming to ur questions: 1. From Auli Ski resort you can either trek (45mins) or can take the chair lift 2. They provided one heater every room and it was cozy…I think you can ask them to provide an extra if required, same goes with bedding 3. You can try Aloha on the ganges Airbnb/hotel and if you need luxury hotel you can try summit on the ganges however the time u are planning is the peak time so prices must b little high 4. If you are pro in driving on hilly areas..you can definitely drive to Auli ski resort..The road is narrow from Joshimath I hope this wud help you..cheers! Happy vacations 🥂

Should we stay in Auli Ski Resort or Nanda Dev?

That’s a personal choice. We stayed at Cloud's end, but there was some water issue and limited food.

People stay in Joshimath also. But we think staying at Auli would be better. You can go for ski resort. We stayed there one night and one night at clouds end. Ski resort was convenient and Clouds end/Nanda devi has better view 😀 now your choice you want view over convenience or vice-versa. But Nanda devi is any day better than clouds end as it is a cottage.

Hello Devang, Auli is a all season spot. But winters mein jyada advance mein karani padegi..snowfall hota h islye log jyada aatey h..Summers mein thoda pehle karwa dena. Auli mein Hotel options ni h islye shortage rehti h.

Hi guys! We're planning to visit Auli in September. I've some queries (We'll be traveling from Joshimath) & I hope you'll help me out :) 1). I'm confused about various GMVN resorts like Auli Ski, Cloud End, & Nanda Devi. If we stay at Auli Ski, do we need to travel to & fro for skeeing & other adventures? If yes, is there any time constraints for chair car etc. 2). We're four members, not sure if we can accomodate in one room with extra bed. I've checked Auli Ski resort & nothing is mentioned there. Which type of room you've booked in Auli Ski & the number of rooms? As you were also 4 members, I need your help with the type & number of room we have to book. Hi Dhruvil, thanks for subscribing 😍 If you stay at Auli Ski Resort, yes you have to travel to-n-fro and Skiing might not be available in Sept as it’s not a snowfall period. You have two options from Auli ski resort, either go by chair car or you can trek as well. 500 rs Chair car ticket is a round trip ticket so if you on Day 1 and stay at top, you can come back the next day with same ticket. It starts around 10am and closes by around 4-5 pm. At Ski resort, we actually booked two basic separate rooms with a common main door (we got to know that on arrival)…chair lift starts from Auli ski resort only.. The next day we stayed at Cloud’s End (Govt entity)..we booked one room only with one double bed and 1 extra mattress. But they have some water issue (which is under dispute, god knows the reason!). Nanda Devi Resort has no such water issue..but if u r 4 guyz u can stay at Auli ski resort only and come back the same day...that’s cheap and staying at top that too in Sept is not a advisable..I hope this helps! @@manishrawatvlogs Thank you for the detailed explanation 🙌 Just to confirm, if I've to go to-n-fro from Auli Ski too then isn't it advisable that I stay at Joshimath only? I mean from Joshimath also I can take rope way & as you're saying that from Auli Ski also I've to take chair car. And Auli Ski is expensive too. Just correct me if I took it wrong. One more thing, is it a right decision to visit Auli in September or you want me to change my decision to Rishikesh or Mussoorie? Just want your personal suggestion 😅 Thanks a bunch :)

Hi Dhruvil, Its kind of personal choice whether to stay at Auli Ski Resort or Joshimath. Albeit Joshimath will be very reasonable. Coming to next query, Auli is basically a Snow destination and we doubt that snow would fall/be available during Sept. But still, the views are breathtaking from that height which cant be compared with Mussoorie. Rishikesh is not a hill station and is more apt for adventure sports (river rafting, bungee jumping etc..). Cheers!👍🏻

Well that is completely a personal choice. Both places are good but it makes sense to be closer at Auli. Rest is upon your preference.

Hello Pallavi, yes clouds end mein night stay hai…hum do din krna chahte the clouds end book but availability nahi thi so we booked ski resort for 1 day and clouds end for another day..but one day stay in clouds end is enough..wahan pr thoda water supply ka bhi issue hai and hotel service b so so hi h..ski resort mein koi prob nahi hai.. Hi Tejas, if you are visiting particularly to experience snowfall then we advise January/February is the month. Still, do check the weather forecast before landing at Auli. Yes, you can visit anytime during the year. Its open for tourists. 😊

Hi, I am planning to visit Auli for 3 nights from December 7-10. I tried to book Nanda Devi Eco Huts but given my 78 year old dad will be with us, they discouraged me to book it and suggested I book the Ski resorts. Few questions I would like to ask you: 1. Is the Helipad accessible by car? We are planning to take the chopper ride but given my dad's condition, I don't think we can take the ropeway or the chairlift. 2. Can I go to the ski resort directly by car?

Hi Bhawna, well Nov to Apr is considered the ideal time to visit Auli. But its a 12 Month destination and can be visited during other seasons as well to avoid rush.

Bro, gaye to hum b snow prediction dekh k they par hui nahi 😀 waise feb month mein sabse accha hota h...mil hi jaati h snowfall..rest Nov-March badiya months h...but snowfall unpredictable..still u can go by weather forecast..All the best 😛👍🏻
