but this rendition here raises my spirit. if i'm not mistaken, most of the songs done in the march cadence were like to encourage people during times of war. the version played in movie theaters, albeit sung well, sounds like a war song. anyhoo, everyone, let's move on. let's just enjoy good music.
The rushing comes from the original time signiture of the anthem, the anthem was originally 2/4 since its actually a march, then the government at the time (if i can recall its the commonwealth governemnt) used jose palma’s work as the lyrics, but translated it to english since the nation was still a protectorate of the United States. After obtaining independence in 1946, the english lyrics was translated a final time in filipino, but since 2/4 is too fast, the singers (when accompanied by an orcheastra or band) cannot keep up with the pace of the music, so alot of people started singing at a much appropriate time such as 4/4. So singers are not actually rushing, but ther’yre just abiding by the law.
Nakakaproud to be a Filipino🇵🇭, AUP (PUC ‘78) alumnus and former Ambassadors (singing bass), to hear the best rendition of Lupang Hinirang (🇵🇭 National Anthem). Watching from Victorville California 🇺🇸✌🏼👍❤️
IMHO, they should revamp section 37 of RA 8491. I don't see anything wrong about modifying the Julian Felipe arrangement. Anything that would make our Natl. Anthem sound better is a welcome progress. I don't think this disrespects the original composition in any way, in fact any change that would make it better will surely make Julian Felipe proud.
Easily said because we lived in a comfortable life. Imagine the time when our people fought for the right just to sing this song. They paid their blood for it. Respect your history brother.
Wala kasing magawa at maisip yung iba.

(two thumbs UP!!!!)
The lupang hinirang is better off if it was rendered as a march because it raises the morale of us Pinoys, which is the main purpose why Julian Felipe did this song.
Somebody please enlighten me, kinakanta na namen dati ang Ed Nepomuceno Arrangement, but when we tried Sir Lucio De San Pedro's arrangement (These version), we got questioned by some faculties, kesho inbiba namen yun melody and tempo.. Or talaga may maba-violate kameng law on singing the national anthem with arrangement such as this? (Correct me if im wrong) So the arrangement above were accepted by the national historical commission of the philippines?
The original version of the Lucio San Pedro arrangement had a super-SLOW tempo soft-volume intro "Baaaaaaayaaaaaaaang maaaaaagiiiiiiiiiliiiiiiiiiw...." before getting into the "fast-march" where "Bayang Magiliw" was repeated this time in a fast tempo. This version is the EDITED Lucio San Pedro version which removed the slow intro and went straight into the fast march, tapos yung ending, ginawang normal, wala nang extended notes. As far as I know, the rendition above which uses the edited Lucio San Pedro "Lupang Hinirang" is already considered compliant.
