I've seen these tour guides before. They stand on street corners to give directions to lost or confused tourists. It's a real public service these young ladies are offering to the community, & they dress to impress. We need more of this spirit of volunteerism.

Seattle is a big city with big-city problems, but it's still a beautiful city. Aurora Ave has always been like this, even going back 40+ years. All big cities have their own Aurora Avenues.
It’s probably important to remember that Seattle’s history with this goes way farther back that than. As a gold rush city it was notorious for it and that wasn’t the beginning either.

6:37 Just feet back from this spot I got a flat tire one time and I was able to pull completely off the road. I was glad that it happened right there and not next to or beyond the truck route sign.

However when I was a cab driver in Seattle I once picked up a guy who had a girl blow him on the way to SeaTac in the back of the car and after he got to the airport the guy wanted to give me some money for the girl's trip back to downtown Seattle and like an idiot I told him that I would take her back for free. So even back then I didn't flip the girl a $20.
A question for anyone familiar with this area; do you know if this area was like this prior to FOSTA-SESTA? Just wondering if this is a result of all those websites being shutdown a few years back... Just remember commentary at the time that stated the new laws would force the sex workers back into the streets where they were less safe,... Either way, never seen anything quite like this,...
A bit of the afterlife, a bit of focusing on bigger fish. Now the Feds are catching up, mostly drug stings that catch the messy promoters. Madams (called Lexx in Seattle) keep it real. The city attorney has some past in this area, also the city has a lax policy. 145th is the city line in the north end, and Cloverdale thereabouts in the south.
It was a lot quieter pre-pandemic. I was in Seattle from 2010-2020, and shutting down backpage and craigslist and all that didn't impact things as much as the whole "hands off" approach police now have has shut things down.
