Aurora does it yet again... Incredible performance, vocals, expressions, instruments and atmosphere. Thank you for joining me in witnessing this very talented artist unfold before me.
This was the first song of the set. Jacket comes off after this song and shoes come off soon after. I love this whole set, it's fabulous. Everything she does is fabulous. Put "Dance on the moon" live at exist for love sessions on your Aurora list
I really like the way you stop and start the songs, and to get your perspective of the songs, I've learned a lot through your analysis of the Aurora's songs 🎵 so keep doing what you do sir 👍
@@larryshair Most of Aurora's biggest fans have seen these videos a dozen (or more) times. Pausing is expected from a reaction. One suggestion though: post a link to the original video in your description. It shows respect for the artist.
@@larryshair You can also put the original link in the description and tell the people that do not like the pausing, that they can use the link and watch it uninterrupted.
One more-- Silja Sol who sang alongside Aurora and played piano is award winning singer and songwriter who left band in MAY AND MAKING GREAT ALBUMS. deserves listening
You pause as many times as you want. Love your comments, that's why we're here. Fór the next Aurora song I would strongly recomended Soft Universe from Nidarosdomen ❤️
Serious heart breaking lyrics packed in light music and fun performance. That's what Aurora does on a regular basis. The end is that these songs can sometimes cause extremely mixed feelings and you question yourself how you can have so much fun with such a serious topic. And already you deal more deeply with the topic. Aurora also manages to lift the mood of people who are directly affected by the topic. She goes to their level at the beginning of a song and pulls them up with her at the end. And the people who have never dealt with these issues make them think about it. And Btw... Aurora takes off her shoes during the concert because "live is better without shoes" as she herself said here. 😁 And Aurora feels most comfortable in front of a small and smallest audience. This has always been the case. Personal opinion of Dimash. He really is the best voice in the world. Technically absolutely perfect. But that's all there is to it. I don't feel anything through his music. All used excessively. Performance, vocal circus. I buy absolutely nothing from him. It all doesn't seem real and extremely strange. And annoying in the long run, because I personally feel constantly overwhelmed. Like on a drug trip only with sounds.
Silja Sol is very talented. She does her own music in addition to assisting Aurora. She has decided to focus more on her own music now and we will not see her with Aurora on a regular basis, but I can't imagine she will go cold turkey on performing with Aurora. The way Silja Sol is able to harmonize so perfectly speaks volumes of her talent as a musician.
Nice reaction. Keep up with the way you are doing it. If people don't like the pauses they can watch the original video. This little concert is amazing. Björk was in the audience.
I'll chime in : pausing is perfectly fine for a reaction, that's actually the whole point, imho, as long as you rewind a bit afterwards (which is what is done), so no issue there :) ... As for the songs, for me and to make it short, Churchyard = verbal abuse, It happened quiet = physical abuse (being or not related, as far as I know, Aurora never confirmed they were ?). Running with the wolves and Murder Song are completly unrelated, though, imho. Anyway, another great reaction, looking forward to more Aurora ;)
My favorite Aurora song is probably I went too far, followed by under the water. She also has a Rasputin (boney M. ) cover that came out this month that was really good as well! You can’t go wrong with any aurora song!
The first time I heard this, I wondered to myself if she witnessed a piece of my life, then realized that she hadn't been born yet when it happened. It hit me hard...and still does. How can she make such ugly subjects sound so beautiful?
The drummer, Magnus, is her best friend from the band it seems, according to the "Once Aurora" documentary. They are very close. At some point Magnus wanted to stop going on tour and playing drums, and only focus on producing, because he's also her producer. But he thought he would lose her friendship so he changed his mind. It's reassuring for her to have him around when anxiety kicks in, like when she goes to see a big group of fans, where she let them touching, huging, despite the fact that she doesn't really like that, she does it anyway. She has such a good heart, but also fragile... like most of us I guess. "Once Aurora" is a very interesting" documentary. A little bit outdated one might say, but very good.
As I said in another comment on another song, I absolutely love the concert at KEXP 🥰❤️ This is what Aurora herself says about “Churchyard”: "'Churchyard' is just like the concept of someone bigger using their power in the wrong way, that happens all the time in politics, with children, women. I wanted the songs to feel empowering - like at the end of 'Churchyard', she comes back to haunt him." - AURORA So when she makes those noises, it’s her coming back to haunt him/her 😅
So much energy in such a little tiny person.....and so freaking cute......those almost Georgian voice harmonies...she mastgers her craft, and her team is awesome!!
Am absolutely loving your reactions to Aurora, of whom I am a huge fan. Try not to worry about smiling when you listen to Aurora, as she does that to us all, such is her genius. Aurora has a unique ability to write songs about very dark subjects, and yet make them sound so utterly gorgeous, and even uplifting. I had the privilege of seeing one of her concerts here in the UK in 2019, and was totally blown away. If you ever get the chance to attend one of her concerts, grab it while you can. I promise you won't be disappointed. Also, on a few other things you said here; Yes, Dimash has arguably the best voice of any male singer I have ever heard, and I feel sure you will be amazed when you hear him. Angelina Jordan is another Norwegian genius. She is now 15, and just keeps getting better with every song. Another absolute gem I would recommend you listen to is Eivor, a singer from the Faroe Islands who astonishes me every time I listen to her. As a suggestion, you could try "Falling Free" live at the Old Theatre in Torshavn. Whatever happens, I shall look forward to your continuing journey with Aurora. Thank you and take good care.
Great reaction to "churchyard". No problem with the pauses for your comments and observations...they add more substance to your reaction. The next song after "churchyard" is "gentle earthquakes" another great performance imho.
Somehow I clicked here and enjoyed your dear video. Probably you got more than enough recommendations already but there's another brilliant song/musicvideo Aurora did with Askjell that some fans might have missed. To be loved: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h2bjTFdezG8.html
This performance took place at a hostel, hence the smaller venue, but I love the idea of being at a show so intimate that way. The entire KEXP set is worth watching and I highly recommend it. Don't get me wrong, all her shows are great, but KEXP was one of my faves. Also, fun fact, Björk was at this performance.
I have to laugh along with Aurora as she shows us all by her brilliant movement and dancing that, Hey, I am alive and kickin’ it here! No “churchyard” can hold me now! She’s literally dancing on the head of whoever said that to her!
I have aurora I’m a personal folder she’s awesome so the Angelina two great singers two different styles not saying ones better than the other Both 👍 Excellent
Doot doot ahhhloot ahhh ahh ahha ahh ahhh ahaa aaaa 🎶 the harmony and lilts are heavenly . Her vocals carry me to somewhere else. It’s why she is loved.
Hello there! Nice to see more and more people from all places and ages appreciating this amazing artist and showing how she makes you feel. That's her biggest gift: to make you feel. This was the first whole set I listened from her and I was completely...I can't find words. Captured, mesmerized, I suppose. "Churchyard" like many other songs is so powerful and cathartic. While you can relate with the pain of the topic, listening to the lyrics, and get to touch that part (that you can find inside yourself if you delt with verbal abuse, bullying ecc...or you can just feel it through her performance) the music brings you to a place where all that pain is turned into strenght, into a slap to whoever said those words "you belong in a churchyard" (or your personal version of mean words that have been said to you). I get this feeling like in the end, the most upbeat part represents really the comeback of the hurt person that proves that "yes, those words caused wounds, but look what came out of that attempt to destroy me, ahah!! I just dance and sing away from your misery and anger, I still can fly high and go away from the darkness you tried to cage me in" I truly love this song. Well...I truly love A LOT of her songs. Easier to name the very few I do not. Very very few. Thank you for showing yourself to the yt world, I'll check out other videos! I actually have to admit that I also wanted to start a reaction channel just for reacting to her...I think not a lot of people are focusing on her lyrics and all the possible meanings...so I really like that you also touch that. I'll never have the gut and tools to do it myself. For example, one of the most dense and interesting songs, to analyze much more for the lyrics than the musicality (which is also very interesting) is "Soulless creatures". I'm gonna check, maybe you already reacted to that piece of universal wisdom. omg, didn't realize I wrote that much until I posted it.... eheh. (sweaty smiling face)
Spoiler alert... the comments will (and have) tell you the shoes come off lol... I am really enjoying your Aurora journey, ( and Angelina)... I discovered (or she found me) Aurora several months ago and boy did I need her... I have been looking after my mother of 85 years for the past 3 years... it has been tough (yet rewarding) to say the least... well my Mam is about to pass (at home with me and family) very soon... Aurora has touched my heart, she is a natural healer and for that I truly thank her... I look forward to experiencing the rest of your Aurora Journey...
I think the joyfull response of Aurora is just intentionnal, appropriate and genious. He said "You belong to the graveyard" and she laughs at it, at him, which is probably the only way to avoid the toxicity of it.
The wonderful thing about Aurora and what sets her apart from other artists is her songwriting, there is so much depth to her lyrics,so much meaning it’s easy to understand why as a young girl she spent a lot of time listening to Bob Dylan and Lenard Cohan both great wordsmiths in the art of songwriting.then add on the emotion that takes over as she performs and transports you to a place where you actually feel your there seeing everything played out before your very eyes.wow! It’s an understatement to say that Aurora is special she is a Genius there is no other word for it and we are truly blessed to have her musical poetry in our lives it’s a medicine for the soul.❤️🍎🎭
This is a radio station in Iceland. Aurora's movements are organic with her music. Most of the audience are listening on the radio. The people watching are the station's staff and families.
Greetings from Mexico! Great video as always. My biggest recomendations are Soulless Creatures Live in Bergen 2020, Dance On The Moon live in her own festival, and finally Exist For Love and A Different Kind of Human from Christines Radiofestival
For my suggestion for something, again different, Aurora and Wardruna teaming up for an old vikking song. remarqueble ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FnkTuHP9q3o.html
It was a small audience in a small sound studio. That's Aurora. Seriously sad human stuff with an encouraging and uplifting energy. I look forward to you reacting to "All is Soft Inside" from the same concert. Explosive and joyous energy. Definitely listen to Dimash. It isn't that he has the "best" voice in the world, but he is a phenomenal musical talent, right up there with the best, with a crazy 6 octave voice range, and a humble, sweet energy. (He is Kazakhstani and sings in several languages).
And as I said before: I dont mind your pausing. Especially as I watch reaction to see your reaction and thoughts + great music. I can always just play the song without reaction (what I also do :) ). And your observations are interesting. BTW: I would love to see reaction for less reacted song which is great for me: Soulless Creatures (live from Bergen 2020). I also love official version of a song but live is live + there are no official video only lyric with sound.
Another great reaction 😊👍I love this whole concert. It has so much energy through every song. Btw. the shoes come of later in the concert. I would highly recomend you check out the whole concert at a later time, be it as a reaction or just by your self. It is one of my favourite performances by her. Side note, I really dont get why people complain about pausing in REACTION videos... if they dont want pausing, they can just watch the original video. You keep making your reactions as you want 😊👍 Please react to All is soft inside (from the same concert as this) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IS2iVcGz_Ok.html
Aurora is amazing. Love your way of reacting. Nice to hear someones thoughts on the music they listen to 👍 Very happy to hear you are doing Angelinas version of Bohemian Rhapsody ❤ The most mesmerizing performance I have seen and heard ❤
This is like a chant to keep the bad spirits away. A song that helps you deal with horrible things. To stay with yourself. And being able to say "This is wrong" I love this song
kudos to you--HONESTY ABOVE ALL even if your viewers dont like it, Next-- Anjelina J is a huge talent but no comparing to Aurora who was sent to us from somewhere we know not-- and is a fabulous writer, composer, arranger and a choreographer. Watch Aurora version of Warrior from Pigalle in Paris-- bets versin with modern dancers. Dimash is amazing and suggest you watch Benjamin Clementine sing "Adios"-- a genius and super rare talent. Keep going as you are. By the way, singing barefoot gives singers greater feel as they perform.
Thank you for your comments, Jeff. I don't know why there is a strikethrough through your comments. I haven't seen that before. Thank you for your kind comments :)
Most reactors start with Dimash from here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W29zEuZVaxs.html (SOS d'un terrien en detresse, a beautiful French song with gripping lyrics that he covered). Others start from one of his most recent performances, "Stranger", an original song written by famous composer Igor Krutoy, who got out of retirement after listening live to Dimash, and by Dimash himself, who added a "folk/central Asian" wibe to it with his melismas and a traditional instrument played by a good friend of his. It's up to you which one to choose.
According to beeing barefooted during performances; For Aurora, sometimes. For Angelina: For allways until all children can afford to wear shoes (a special story behind this) =)
why is there a line running thru my previous comment? what is problem with Honesty? And many viewers do NOT like any criticism of their favorite performers. That's a fact.
If you want to keep on smiling you should watch and react to Aurora in Haik, a short documentary (bout 40 minutes). Would love to see your reaction to her thoughts about life, music and human beings. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n_uW-0HDWoc.html (english subs)
I know you are new to the reaction game but in response to your comment about pausing, keep in mind you will never be able to please everyone. The format in which you are doing your reactions is the way the majority of the people want it.
It is very good that you pause, most of the singers like it, and some have even requested it of reactors to encourage people to go to their channels to listen uninterrupted because they lose views on their channels due to so many people listening to reactors instead of going to their channel and listening to the song. Angelina's team has requested reactors to pause, so all of her fans will be very happy to see you pause, also they would request reactors to put the original link on the page and encourage people to watch that uninterrupted. I love how Aurora can tell such deep and disturbing ideas in such a happy package of a song. It reminds me of when I was young I used to love singing the song "Alouette" I did not know French, then one day someone ask me if I understood the words I sang. of course I did not and had no idea that it meant taking apart a bird to cook it.
Beware, wishing death upon a good person may bring unwanted consequences from a very powerful demon. BTW, Aurora does wear shoes more often than naught.
heres another song from that same concert that is amazing Aurora - All Is Soft Inside (Live on KEXP) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IS2iVcGz_Ok.html
This version of this song is the best:). I cut part of this performance as my phone ring. And your smile is very ok as this song has dark lyric but wrapped with not sad music. And about jacket and shoes she removed them later during mini concert: "Life is better without shoes" :).
I had so much fun on this reaction 🙂🥰 And I don't mind your pausing, because I like to hear your thoughts. After all it is a reaction video and you are doing great!!! Looking forward to Bohemian Rapsody 🤩💖
You do it your way! Pausing and just saying "she is fabouls" every time, are enoying: but you pauses when you have someting you have seen/heard that you want to tell about... and for me: you do it just fine..... Every reactor does their own thing... you do you.... !
It is important that you follow your own way of doing the reaction, that is what make it interesting to watch. If I just wanted to hear the song I would go to the original video.
Watch some of her longer interviews, or even a documentary called Once Aurora to get a better understanding of her as a person. She can be an extremely funny person. Loves a lot of things.....but not Seagulls. ..." they're relentless " Or watch....learn the Alphabet with Aurora.......on Aurora stuff. Channel. It's a 1 minute clip of Aurora.
Check out Eivor...she sings like an angel write her own songs and plays serveral instruments...Trollabundin and Tokuni also falling free are songs that get you inside...Keep up the good work. Greetings from Belguim.
Norse (Norwegian) Artists for you: Aurora Aksnes, Einar Selvik (Wardruna), Angelina Jordan, Maria Franz, Sigrid Solbakk, Allan Walker, Anne Nørdsti, Astrid Smeplass, Susanne Sundfør, are just some of them. Welcome to the Norse culture and family.. Enjoy :-)
Hello again my friend. First off, let me just say that I really dislike people trying to change your way of reacting. I mean, there are hundreds and hundreds of reactors out there that you may watch if something doesn't suit you, right ? PLEASE don't pay too much attention to the naysayers, beause I think your reactions are perfect the way they are. I'm loving the fact that you are present enough to pay attention to small details as you're watching, and giving us your reflections. THAT is what reacting is all about IMHO. Of course, just my 2 cents, but still.... AND I have to say that I'm over the moon that you will give Angelina some more attention too. She is definitely worthy of that, no cap 🤣🤣 (And her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody will not disappoiny you, I promise that much). AND I'm afraid I have to concur with those people stating that Dimash has THE best voice in the world. I can't see how it's possible to listen to him and NOT think that. You will understand what we are talking about rather quickly. If I may, I would like to suggest a good starting point for you to him. Dimash is a Kazakh singer, and in 2017 he participated in a Chinese show called "I Am A Singer". This was MY first encounter with him, and I was totally blown off the track. I actually still haven't found that track again 😜 Anywho, here is the link : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JEz1qGS0T1Q.html Last but not least : Just keep doing what you're doing. It's incredibly good. Much love and respect from your Norwegian friend ♥🔥
Thank you, my friend! Yea, I can't take on the approach of trying to please everyone... Just gonna do my thing :) Already posted another Angelina song. Should be going live in about an hour and a half - Bohemian Rhapsody. Man, that was incredible! When I dive into Dimash, I will be sure to start with your suggestion! Thank you kind sir!
As a first reaction to Dimash, I would go with "SOS Slavic Bazaar" (2018): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W29zEuZVaxs.html Many start from there.
Yes, please! "SOS Slavic Bazaar" or a more recent song, "Stranger". "Autumn strong" is a good suggestion too (the original version is very old, though. He was very young at the time).
Dimash does have the most technically amazing voice in the world without a doubt... he's definitely a must listen! I would recommend SOS Slavic Bazaar and Olympico to start. But Aurora still takes me to the most special place one can be taken to regardless of technicality. She goes beyond technique. Angelina does too many covers for my liking. :)
