This version of Murder Song incorporates a little of the studio version at the end. I think that's why she cut short the original end. I really love this version though, because I actually prefer the studio version compared to the acoustic.
I think Aurora loves these small, intimate concerts the most. She always seems so happy to me when everything is scaled down a little. What might also help is that there was no audience there. As an introverted person, this may make her feel more secure. Surrounded by her "gang" (as she said in Once Aurora), she can let her emotions run wild. This smile that she often has at such small performances always makes you smile and you think - oh, I love this person - Aurora lives in the music and the music lives with her, we have noticed that so many times and yet We experience the story telling through Aurora's body language again and again. I don't know how many versions of murdersong I've heard from her, but I like this one the best (even without the ending or maybe because of it). There are now some very good potcasts with Aurora here on YT that I could recommend to you (if you haven't found them yourself yet) but the little interview in Paris seems to be the most natural to me. (The cherries are definitely to blame for that) and I would like to encourage you to see it 😉 .... Happy Aurora Tuesday to everyone.😊
She always has so much fun, she always manages to put me in a better mood than I was before. I really like the way she plays with those breaths at the end of "Warrior" from time to time, especially as she got more comfortable with performing, so she became much more free. Interesting version of "Murder Song." It's neither the dance-y original, nor the acoustic version, but rather something in between.
I love these sessions especially from earlier Aurora. She is so amazing and artistic and every such session has something special and new. A lot of her songs has so many different beautiful versions. As always it was a joy to watch your Aurora reactions :). Ps. Amazing band here and I miss especially Silja Sol and Magnus :)
So many variations, in her countless live performances, and she never fails, with her musician mates, to drag us into her world. Hours and hours and hours of pure pleasure... eargasms after eargasms...hum well, whatever. To think you haven't reacted to any song of her 101.9 KINK - PNC Studio Live Session, in exemple, even if it has its "detractors", makes me think, and hope, that many more Aurora Tuesdays are to be expected, or at least hoped for. What a pleasant eventuality... nothing beats optimism!😀 In any case, have a great Tuesday.🙂👍
My first Aurora Tuesday on the actual Tuesday. I am listening to her with the Olympic surfing on the tv in the background. The waves of the ocean and Aurora’s voice - two beautiful forces of nature filling my senses at once.
This version of Murder song is absolute perfection, I can image me listening to this version on a bus while looking at the autumn leaves falling. Murder song is a song that will never get old, and hope that this and some of the older song will meet the stage again and not be left forgotten.
The lack of processing on her vocals is such a joy to experience. There's a bit of reverb, but I couldn't hear anything else, but her. At the beginning of Murder Song those delicate inflections, and runs are so good. She's not even trying to be perfect. She's just trying to be an artist, and that kind of makes it perfect imo.
Luckily for me, everyday is Aurora day. Thanks, enjoyed watching this with you, you face is so very expressive, you show joy like Aurora does, lol. I think I prefer this version of Murder Song, love the harmonies and the way she got right into the emotion before the song started, she is exceptional beyond words in how she conveys the emotions to her songs. Thanks, loved your reaction, hope you have a great week.
That was fantastic !! See if you can find her Sugar Beach session video she did for CFNY 102.1 , Love all of her little showcase sessions. She always shines like a star !!
I have never seen this set before, thank you for reacting to it. I agree with you the harmonies are so good. I miss these guys so much. This version of Murder Song is the best I have ever heard - wish I could get this one on my play list
Yay for Aurora Tuesdays! Stripped down versions are my favs, and that goes double for Aurora. Love this! Her vocals, dancing, and personality are so beautiful & charming. The harmonies are gorgeous. Such a good time - thanks for sharing, Ash.
Hi Ashlena! To guess the year, simply memorize Aurora's haircut from that period 😁 it almost always works! At Murder 54321 I always wait for that moment, which you called "perfection!": she is SO good here! Every time I am surprised at how she manages to control strength and delicacy at the same time.
I love her new stuff but I miss Magnus! I love these sessions with him in. Another really cute one is her Paste Studio NYC live from the Manhattan Centre...from the same year as this one, she's super animated and funny.and although it's the same 3 songs they're even better/different to this one.
First time that I watched this performance in full! Thank you! Murder Song was especially captivating. And the band seemed to have a good time, too. Mind you, the Cajon (sp?) must be the most unergonomic instrument to play. I feel for Magnus's shoulders.
I'm so late this video! I totally agree with you about the low notes that Magnus hits so beautifully. I really miss his baritone notes in Aurora's early performances. Every person in her original band is an incredible artists in their own right.
OMG I was afraid Aurora Tuesdays were over, I didn't see it last week.......can I look for it somewhere? this one is either 2018 or 2019 not quite sure. But she is so lovely as always.......I'm hooked to the Whatr Happened to de Heart thing watching all live versions I can get a hold of, waiting for the BBC tyo release the full Glaston gig hopefully they will check this out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cjE5AJv9xug.html Gracias Mama Ashlena no me rompiste el bobo...which means, you did not break my heart ha ha ha Luv u forevah
I guess you've already found it now, but just in case, it was: AURORA - A Temporary High - The Late Show with Stephen Colbert | Reaction: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ukEX_WMQWnA.html
Every performance different. Of course I know these songs so well but this session is new to me. One thing I noticed, the camera work. Is it me or did the camera zoom in to her face every time her arm pits were visible? The North Americans and Brits do seem to have a phobia about under arm hair. Aurora does not, good for her.
