I think it was nice Katy used her platform to help awareness of other artist and i like that Aurora gave an honest answer, it would have easier for her to lie but she kept true to herself but didn't throw any shade
Eh. She said Ariana Grande sounds like loud noise, but says her music is unique, different, and isn't like that. I think it's one thing if you just say it's not your style or taste, and another to be saying that all popular artists sound like noise but YOUR music is good and "she's not my idol BUT she did a great thing [by tweeting my music and helping me get views]".
But the way she manages to stay respectful and not make their stupid humour awkwarder by showing how tired of it she must be is just a life example to me
if men dont joke with women, we are sexist, if we joke with women, we are sexist, if we are ugly, we are sexist, if we are Brad Pitt we are funny and super cool.
I hate how everything she says they turn around to dead insects. I mean, that's nice you guys have boring lives, but some people enjoy doing different stuff (which is not done by every other person in the world) and that's nice.
This is quite an old inverview, I think that nowadays she gets asked different things. Also, sometimes something good came from that: There is that Norwegian talkshow where she was together with an insect researcher who wrote a book about the topic, and Aurora was totally in awe and surely very happy that the TV had brought them together.
Yesss it was so rude! Like they were making fun of her. Collecting things is pretty cool! And many insects like moths are really beautiful! It’s great that she preserves the dead ones. I sometimes do that too and I Also like to Collect feathers and probbles and stuff because it’s Just pretty and brings memories
@@michalinaata5267 Też uważam, że zbieranie naturalnych "artefaktów" jest cool. Moimi z dawna były skamieliny :D A przynajmniej coś, co uważałem za skamieliny :P
People that don't speak Norwegian are bound to misunderstand everything about this show, the setting, the guests, what was said and the tone used, and obviously the jokes. For example, the very first sentence is not actually about Aurora, it's a joke about a popular Norwegian show and uses another dialect to emphasize this ("Now we're about to meet a girl that collects dead insects.."). Another example is the "cup of moths". The host actually said a "glass of moths", but it also sounds like "glass of beer" in Norwegian (møll/øl). It was a play on words.
Interesting. It sounds like you are defending them for a technicality about the moth jokes. The fact remains that the girl is on record as saying she likes moths and collecting them. These jerks found a way to turn every thing she said into a play on that. The fact that you found their wordplay funny culturally does not change the fact they were jibing her for a past interview. Moreover, putting her on the spot and asking if some untalented American was her idol, when their styles are radically different, was a total dick move as well. So say what you will about wordplay or cultural difference, the conversational direction these guys chose to go on is why they are receiving so much, deserved, hate here.
As usual, people always like to find ways of taking things outside of context. And rarely are things actually looked into objectively, there is usually a prejudice or agenda when more energy is dispersed into something. Rarely it is done to educate, serve truth or to protect some good value.
and? They're still focusing on dumb bug wordplay as if it was a salient feature. Not discussing it in earnest but just highlighting how uncanny and weird aurora is. Which she absolutely is, but in a way that deserves respect and celebration, not underhanded mockery. These guys look like hacks and they probably are.
@@daman7387 It is Norwegian humor and the translation is not good. I do not think other people outside Norway, unless you speak Norwegian and understand the cultural differences between Norway and other countries, truly understand the dialogue. However, I would consider this a easy flowing conversation.
damn, i hate how they're trying so hard to pit her against katy when she's making it pretty clear that she just doesn't enjoy katy's music, and that's totally ok! she clearly doesn't want to pick a fight but they keep pushing her to do so. disgusting.
listening to aurora, it is clear that her music has nothing in common with katy's so i don't even see how she could be an idol for her. The fact that she is famous and likes aurora does not mean the aurora has to worship her and her music.
It's great how she respectfully said that she doesn't like Katy Perry's music, while still being respectful of the gesture that Katy did. Aurora is kind and honest and I love that about her.
@@kongvinter33 Sheesh, is that the best your country has? The bar is set a little higher where I come from. Maybe that's why i'm not as relevant. Dunce.
SHE HAS STAYED SO TRUE TO HERSELF!!! What an absolute legend!! In the face of 5 grown men, she gave honest answers even though you know that is not what they were expecting or wanting from her. She was simple, kind, and in absolute integrity. WHAT A BABE
I guess you know who those guys are then? Since you know they lack her creativity. They're not rude. And the show was a lightweight humorous family talk show. Every guest knew what it was before visiting. And the hosts were known for self-deprecating humor who usually made most fun of themselves.
@@Dougie- Of course, it is Norwegian humour. And it bothers me that people here keep criticizing them while knowing nothing of Norway and our humour and how we communicate.
I think that just because a celebrity is “bigger” as in numbers of fans and views, it doesn’t neceserally mean they are better, they might be liked or known by more people but it doesn’t mean more than that. I think She would agree on that. She doesn’t like her music very much but appreciates the support. She doesn’t think of Katy as an idol but a regular person just like everyone else is.
@@kongvinter33 It is not unusual that fans tend to get insulted on behalf of their favorite artists. I have seen it so many times. But Aurora is from Drange, so she certainly can take a joke...
Some people are saying Aurora was being rude, some people are saying the men were being rude. Cant tell if the comment section is filled with kids or delusional adults.
First time I hear her speak. She is authentic and interresting. I like her. The interviewer or the other guys dont seem to know how to talk to such a person. Maybe theyve only met inauthentic people so far.
I love how close to earth and honest she allways is. Aurora is such a different kind of human(pun intented), i feel like we all can learn so much from people like her, she is the prime example of tollerance, love and caring
I don't get how there can be tv shows where a bunch of big grown men can make fun of someone the whole time without letting them talk when THEY are invited and when THEY are the ones interviewed. Just let her talk without putting your opinions louder over it. Like... If it was supposed to be a funny show, she doesn't seem to be aware of it (and I clearly don't think it is).
0:06 look at that nervous/ uncomfortable laugh and her smile just faded so fast. Why they gotta do this to her? She seemed so uncomfortable and irritated, lmao just move along about her insect collection...
Katy perry makes music for the masses. Its like fast food. Aurora makes art piece music with depth and complexity like Michelin star restaurant. I'm not trying to shit on Katy Perry, everybody loves a Big Mac with fries once in a while. Hell sometimes you really crave that junk food but to ask Aurora if Katy Perry was her idol...Imagine asking Gordon Ramsey if his dish was inspired by the number 5 at Wendy's.
The interviewer totally showed me how disrespectful he can be and how boring he does NOT have any idea of the Real world of nature, insects are insanely wonderful, artistic, colourful, magnetic, creative and majestic beings. Bowie would have had him sacked just by a twitch of displeasure of his rudeness.
when people get old, stuck in the same ortho system, and develop some stern personality ... they don't connect themselves with the originality and humane conduct of a person to this world. pathetic, they will die soon with thousands of remorse... we weirdo and lively people will live to be like aurora.... much love from India girl... you make us feel proud that we really don't follow neither the stupid system which makes you less human and the stern mentality, people like us just flow.
@@sssrrr1988 so....older people are all the same? Just stupid and blind? Only you and those like you are cool and flow? Well, surprise! You'll be old too one day.....hope young people around you show more respect to you then than the chlidish attitud you are showing here.
the 3 guys who made fun of it are comedians, all comedians do this. they find something that "most" people in the crowd laughs at and keep using it till it's dead. they're not trying to be rude, they're just bad at reading people. also as a side note, this is the only time iv'e ever seen them act like this and not completlly respectful
She doesn't hate Katy perry is just the music style isn't something she listens too is okay to respect and consider and artist even if you don't listen to their music seriously
So many comments complimenting Aurora on how tactful she was while simultaneously doing the same thing these presenters were doing by insulting Katy Perry and the men. Completely unnecessary. It just goes to show that Aurora can handle herself and she doesn't need anyone else out there to fight her battles, because she is perfectly capable to do it with class and tact.
I don't care for the contradicting interviewer. They seem to do more picking on her about her lifestyle and how she thinks about things rather than appreciating who she is
Bruh, why there are so many toxic people pulling drama in the comments. They literally find negativity in everything. This is some kind of branch of the Twitter.
Norway is one the most feministic countries in the world and nobody here found this offensive. then some high schoolers from the US fed on neo Marxist horse shit came upon the video.....
Because they can't tell the tone in another language/culture, a bunch of smart ass Americans think its their duty to, depending on their levels of either misandry or misogyny, bitch about a man or woman's words the instant they speak
I don't think the guys were being exactly rude. They were just talking to her and asking what things she enjoys. I haven't seen the full interview but to me they just enjoyed hearing about the moths. They've probably never interviewed someone who collects moths so it was just and interesting topic. Plus, it made the audience laugh which is something that interviewers want because it includes the people that pay to see the show. And since aurora is so honest and true about how she feels, I don't think she would have faked laughing with them and whatnot. I don't see much harm done in this small video.
I'm Norwegian and I just wanna say to the people who are misunderstanding here. What the men said and did was nothing rude. Don't try to make everything problematic when it isn't.
I'm danish and I don't se a problem either. Everything was in a very informal and friendly tone. I'm guessing It might be a scandinavian culturally thing.
@@LeStrata1 Maybe. I was just like "oh nice interview" and then the first comment I see is them talking smack about the men. Then I saw more comments about it and I got so confused to why
Just curious to know the cultural difference, is it acceptable and common for men to speak over women/girls or to tell them what to do or explain things they believe females would not know? Genuinely I would like to know if you are from Scandinavia and are willing to share. Thanks in advance!
@@m.l3483 What no. Women and men have equal pay and have the same treatment. Women and men can get the same thing and have equal rights. Men speaking and/or telling women what do are not a thing in Norway and other Skandinavian countries. We have a thing called in Norway 'janteloven' that all Skandinavian countries abide to. It means that no one is better than others and we have to treat others equally/with respect.
I think the culture has nothing to do with it. It's just inappropriate humor, all the cultures have this kind of "funny" interviewers, and I'm from Venezuela, where it's even worse. So, try to see her body language especially at the very beginning, they mock her insect collection, and see how she reacts, her smile fades almost immediately when she gets they are laughing at her, not +with+ her. It's the repetitive jokes about insects for me.
I'm a fan of both. Technically, Perry is very interesting, and I don't think Aurora knows that much about Perry's vocal technique and style. We can all learn from everybody.
dude we can like what we like but technically Perry is on a very average level. Most of pop singers are average with exeptions like Gaga (which i dont listen but shes very skilled).
@@francesctorrestamarit5071 nah its not about prejudices. its about knowledge. if u take all the vocal techniques, all of them see how may of them and on what level Perry is using you'll see shes average. im not saying pop is bad, im not saying Perry is bad. shes a big pop star but average singer. know Mike Patton? yeah hes a dude but we are talking about skills and techniques so sex does not matter. compare them. its like comparing white belt with black belt. ever heard of Tatiana Shmayluk? im not a fan of her genre but dude skills? one of the most skilled female vocalist ever. comapre her to Perry. shes just average and thats ok. and talking about prejudices... pop music has to be easy, ear chatching and simple. it was it still is and it will be one of the characteristics of the genre.
Everyone saying the hosts are disrespectful, but they are only using a play of words. The keep mentioning a "cup of moths" because moths in Norwegian (møll) sounds similar to øl which means beer.
The problem is that US market is the biggest alongside UK when it comes for singers, katy perry as a whole as bigger since she takes us , uk, Australian, Latin, Asian music market and is more of a household name
@@e.mmaanuel and it doesn't mean Katy Perry is less talented compared to anyone, I really wish people could talk about musicians without trying to make one of them seem less talented, when that'd never be the case of Katy
Hopefully this young lady has opened the door to truth and real creativity in the music industry. For too long the industry has controlled the artistic creativity, and controlled the artists themselves. The men with her are perfectly suited to eccentuate the old way of being, while she shines with originality and truth. Quite a juxtaposition, and so blatantly obvious.
I really hate all of that old man. She clearly said thay katy is not her idol, she doesnt like her music and thats okay. Because aurora think she is amazing. I love aurora because she is so honest and positive but i hate when she is swarmed by that rude old man
It was becoming a little much for me too that the “grown” men all around her in the show kept constantly, like not letting go, mocking her about how she likes to collect dead insects. Like who gives a f, that’s her business and it’s low I think for adult men be acting like that I think. Still she came out of it super classy as always. And she was just being honest. She likes different genre of music than Katy Perry’s pop stuff. It’s not personal. All the same it was nice of Katy to recognize and acknowledge aurora’s talent on social media. I think that shouldn’t go unnoticed nevertheless.
Jesus Christ, the comments here lol. Its a comedy talkshow haha. The whole premise of the show is to make fun and get made fun of. Self irony people, self irony. Stop looking for things to be upset about
Bruh I don’t know who this is but I just found out that someone else collects dead moths and I’m shook af. Been doing this for years, have been the recipient of plenty of hateful looks, and have never once heard of anyone else doing it. V big relief.
I gotta admit I laught when she said the flolowers from Brazil were problably because of katy Pery. It hadnt dawned on me, but makes perfect sense. Brazil does seem to love Aurora
She collects dead insects? That’s really neat :D I only have two (I don’t often find them where I live, but I have a large beetle and a butterfly that I’ve found on the ground)
I don't like how these men seem to be bullying her, and she looks so uncomfortable. Taxidermy of bugs is really not that strange of a thing, so why keep bringing it up? And she obviously really appreciates Katy, but you don't have to like someone's music to appreciate them as a person.
Seem to? Yes, at least you admit you don't know. The language is a barrier. They didn't bully her. They're comedians. It was a bit silly, but nothing mocking.
