Great shots, I really the one with the chimneys. Unfortunately it was tipping down here, so I totally missed the light show

Great shots, I'm a fan of minimal processing on Light Room where possible. we've had similar night sky in Australia but unfortunately not near where I live, but that's the luck of photography🤣 enjoy your work.

Thanks Richard. It’s a pity you didn’t get to see them, hopefully next time. This was the first time I’d ever seen them she’s was acting like a big kid in the back garden much to my wife’s amusement

I think it's amazing that we had this event that could be shared by so many people around the world. It's also amazing the variety of settings that people used. I ended up shooting most, including a short time lapse, at 15 seconds, f/4, ISO 400 at 19mm. I really was wishing that I had something wider, but was thrilled with what I got. I'm working on getting a short put together to share some of these. The white balance is the part that I question the most, I shot with daylight to keep it consistent, but actually think I'm settling on something cooler, around 4000K or so.

It was a great event. I went for a slightly shorter time as I didn’t want Star movement in the images and planned on denoise to address the slightly higher iso. I’m hopinge get another event of a similar scale before another 20 years🤞

@@AndyHPhotography yes, I'm all up for another. It's only been 35 years since I had seen them in norther Minnesota. I'm no astro photographer, although I would like to try, but if you follow the 500 rule, you would have been able to get away with a 30 second exposure. Mine are good at 15 and don't show any trails, but definitely show some issues toward the edges due to the lens quality.

@@craigpiferphotography the 500 rule is definitely a great starting point 👍
