She is great and true artist. Very expressive and "in the song" during performing. She is from Norway and have a ton of great songs with great lyrics. Also all her songs are writen by her. She also learned singing and playing piano by herself (no formal education). She is young here but not so young as you can think - she was like 18 or 19 here :). This song was written by her when she was 11 years old (at this moment as far i know even her parents did not know she make songs). She started to make music from >=6 years old and English lyrics from >=9 on old. She is very interesting and unusual personality too. As I said she has so many great songs. But I would recommend Lucky live in Nidarosdomen as I love this performance and this is one of the songs she started to write at a age of 9 :).
Aurora Aksnes, a Norwegian singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer, born June 15, 1996. She began writing her first songs and learning to dance at age six. Certainly a great singer.
How much more beautiful of a world could this be if individualism was allowed to grow instead of suppressing ideas, thoughts and even love on the grounds of conformity. I suggest you take a moment of your time to find and listen to Aurora while being interviewed, you will continue to be impressed. Peace/JT
Fun facts about the Runaway Music Video: It was shot late autumn 2014 and winter 2014/2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview). The parts, where she wears the furry top are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house. The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid, less than half a mile away from her parents house. The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange.
You have discovered Aurora. Now your life will change. I recommend you listen to some live performances : Murder Song (54321) at Nobel Peace Prize concert 2015, Through The Eyes Of A Child live at Nidarosdomen, It Happened Quiet live at the Current. and so many more.
Please bring more of her! I recommend you to check some of her live performances, they are amazing! It Happened Quiet at The Current is one of my favorites, and anyone of the Nidarosdomen concert also.
I wonder if the similarity in certain intonations and tonal shifts between the Irish and Norwegian accents has anything to do with the Norse settlement of Ireland during the Dark Ages. I live across the Irish Sea in Cumbria and i'm told our local dialects have many elements from Old Norse as we also have many towns and villages along the coast and rivers that originated with Norse settlers. My accent was often mistaken for Scottish or Irish when i went to university in Lancashire, though to me it sounds like neither.
@@nagillim7915 I’m not an expert on U.K.’s history, but as far as I recall from what I’ve learned about it in school, Norsemen and the U.K. has a common history. Vikings (Norse, people from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland) founded Dublin and ruled the Southern and Northern Isles in Scotland. They were raiders from Scandinavia and settled in Ireland and Scotland up to the VIII century. 20% of Irish and Scottish ancestry is Norse, and 20% of Icelandic and West Norwegian ancestry is Scottish-Irish. That being said, perhaps that common ancestral background could justify the similarities. On the other hand, that’s just my personal out take) that factor doesn’t cover all outs, as an example, Angelina Jordan, another gifted Norwegian artist sounds like an American when she performs... I think that the genre of music that the artist is producing, their English teacher, their personal taste and the cultural basis that they feed of to perform the art form that they were born with, have a lot to do with the way they sound (as my philosophy teacher used to say -“we are 25% fruit of our genetic heritage and 25% of what surrounds you... the other 50% is your free will that commands”). Hope that helped... Take care... be safe.
The scenes in this video reminds me of my home ! Maine , USA Very talented artist ! Thank you for your thoughtful reaction ! May Gods Blessings be with you !
Her pronunciation does incorporate elements that are very similar to an Irish accent, but I think she has come upon a lot of that as a means to get the kind of tonality she's looking for with particular vowels. Certainly, her own accent when speaking doesn't contain the same features. I believe she was 19 at the time of this video. She was stunning then, and has matured greatly as an artist in the time since.
Welcome to mi country , the mysterious north 🙂🤗🤗🤗🤗🙋♂️. Great reaction mi👸🦸♀️💃⚘🕊 from🧙♂️☃️ simma lugnt🏊♂️ god night ( shiit its morning , work work work ) ahh
Very nice reaction 🤗 My favourite artist💕 She is 18 years in this video, and it’s basically filmed in her family’s backyard. The house is by a fjord with a beautiful view, and the forest surround the rest of it. You’ll learn that music is in her body, in the beginning when she saw herself she thought it looked like she had a seizure or something. I love her movements 💕 “Runaway” She wrote this song when she was only 11 years old, and at that age she didn’t quite understand the meaning of the song. The song is about escape and "realizing you want to get home again." In a 2016 interview she stated "For me now, that song is about my actual home where my parents are." This is one of few songs that actually are about herself, it’s an important song for her 😊 Katy Perry wrote on Twitter: Finally. New music that makes my ❤️ a flutter. Check this 17 yr old angel @AURORAmusic RUNAWAY Billie Eilish said: “When I was 12, I saw Aurora’s ‘Runaway’ music video,” she once told Vanity Fair. “Something inside me clicked, like, that is what I want to do, no matter whether it goes anywhere or not.” AURORA (Aurora Aksnes) is a Norwegian singer/songwriter/dancer and music producer. She plays several instruments like piano, guitar, mandolin and harp (what I know of). She’s born on the 15 of June 1996, she’s from a small place in Os outside of Bergen, Norway 🇳🇴 When she was 6 years old she found an electric piano in the attic after her older sister. Because the power button was broken she had to play with only one hand, and she did that for years. She began writing music without lyrics at the age of 6, and with English lyrics at the age of 9. Her family didn’t know about her talent until she was about 13 - 14 years old. She’s self taught when it comes to singing and playing piano.🤩😍 Could you please react to Aurora with: “Through the eyes of a child” live from Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017 This is also one of her most important songs 😍 She’s an amazing live performer 🤗
