there is another video of this performance that shows her face close up after the song. When the audience applauds is when she steps back and her face expresses confusion for the briefest moment like she is surprised other people are there. She absolutely lives the songs as she sings, its amazing.
Ive said it before, I sometimes wonder if Aurora was created by aliens to be human like.. Even her imperfection are flawless... By the way, the Official video for Runaway is amazing as is Running with the Wolves! The full concert live at Nidarosdomen is the most amazing live concert Ive seen in my lifetime..
My suggestions are as follows. Already told you about "Through the eyes of a child" live at Nidarosdomen, but she has some other great songs from Nidarosdomen that you should check out. "Winter Bird", "Little boy in the grass" and her cover of "Life on Mars". Also, "The Seed" music video or "The River" live at Haik........Or if you want to see what she looks and sounds like today, someone just posted her cover of "Rasputin" this past week ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HWd_N-9n7NM.html As for Runaway, this song is what got it all started with Aurora, and she wrote it at age 11. And no, she never uses auto tune. She doesn't like it or need it. Like I told you on the last video, she is from Norway
I would suggest "it happend quiet" live at the Current. This stripped down version is even better than the version from the Nidrarodemen concert. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9U-N6LqzdIM.html
I hope for more too. This young Lady, born in Norway (a real Viking), is something very special. She is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. She started composing music at the age of 6. When she was 9, she wrote her first song in English. Before that in Norwegian. She never wanted to be famous. She wrote only for herself and in secret. It wasn't until she was 15 that her mother found out what she was capable of and persuaded her to share her music with other people. It would be selfish not to do it. She had previously canceled a record company when one of the songs she performed at school was secretly recorded and posted online without her knowledge. This is how the record company became aware of her. She is what many role models should be. Absolutely down-to-earth, extremely emphatic (she already cries when she sees people crying), absolutely open-hearted, very funny, an extreme nature lover (she couldn't live without her forests. She has absolutely no inhibitions about saying what she thinks. But one thing very funny way (if she starts sweating under her arms at her concerts, she tells everyone that too 😁). She was once asked what her hobbies are. She said reading, cooking and masturbating 😁. Her interviews are always an experience. She is highly intelligent and has a memory like an elephant (she can recite the number pi up to 200 decimal places). She likes to talk to her fans between songs. Her trademark are almost uncontrollable movements of her body while she sings. Usually dances one to the music. In her case, the music dances with her. She feels everything she sings and sings nothing that she is not responsible for. She has remained human to this day. All her songs are special. She doesn't sing perfectly, but with enough feeling that it works perfectly. This lady is a real treasure among the stars.
Her consert in Nidarosdomen Cathedral, acompanied by coir, church organ, harp, and violines, is nearly one hour of goosebumps, the most beautiful consert ever.
Love your Auroras reactions. Her " IT happened quiet" performance live at the Current is absolutely beautiful. Same song in Nidarosdomen with Lucky and Gentle earthquake are Great AS Well.
You're the first one to point out exactly all the things that blow my mind when I see or listen to her. Here it for example was the moment when she sings "I was dancing in the rain..." and actually kinda dances... you did see that and it made you smile. I see so many people reacting to this performance and just... somehow miss it. 😅 however, now I'll proceed to watch your other reactions to Aurora.
@@larryshair I have been seeing a lot of requests to react to It Happened Quiet. I know that most reactors want to come in blind, but please read the lyrics and some commentary on that one first. It's about a relationship that has gone really bad and violent and needs to be treated delicately, but is so beautiful that many people miss the point. Most reviews are along the lines of 'wow, this is beautiful and makes me feel so good' which considering the subject matter is not appropriate.
You'll find Aurora often brings herself out of her song space with a shake of her head. Aurora is absolutely amazing. Wait till you see just how humble she is.
I’d like to suggest a song from Aurora - but with this on specifically, I’d love for you to check out the music video, because it has SUCH a strong message! It’s called “The Seed” - and I think it will move you deeply
As you can probably tell from my gray hair... Classic rock, 80's music (non-disco...), instrumental, pretty much a wide variety of music, really. Thank you for your suggestion! The Seed is on my list. Several people have requested "through the eyes of a child", so that will be next. The Seed has also been requested, so this is also on the list. Thanks so much!
@@larryshair Hey, you never know! I should still be a few decades away from gray hair, yet the genres of music you just mentioned, are amongst some of my favorites ;) Now, rock can be anything from 80’s Power Balads to Iron Maiden - so it’s hard for me to estimate if you like harder rock?! Sorry for asking so many questions :) You mentioned that, a part from Aurora, there were almost no singers that could sing that beautifully live - without using autotune. I know at least one - and as much as I adore aurora, this woman is my number 1
Another great reaction Larry! Your ability to notice the nuances....especially at the end there......she transports us to another place b/c she herself has gone there, and, it's visible!!!! There is a much more 'personal' version of this song done in her OWN HOME, in what looks like could be a small den area. It was made during the lockdown..... Once again, I'm strongly suggestion *lol* "Eyes of a Child" and "It Happened Quiet" from Live in Nidarosdomen. If you're emotional "now"....and yeah I was too watching this, you're probably going to have to pause the video a few times for these two songs..... BTW, Live in Nidarosdomen is in an OLD, Gothic-Like Church......with a full orchestra and an all male choir..... I literally have to prepare myself b/c I know what is to follow! Once again, thanks for taking this journey so we can all experience it with you!!!!
There is definitely a wealth of creativity and diversity to Aurora's catalog. For a considerably different twist, look into her collaboration with the Norse/Viking group Wardruna on "Helvegen".
You might like to watch a short documentary (11min) called AURORA - Nothing is Eternal (A Documentary) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4vdBorK67tk.html It gives a nice introduction and insight into Aurora as a person, her background and the way she sees life. Filmed in Norway, talking with her friends, we see her mother and father. There are smatterings of some of her songs in it, but not enough to spoil you doing separate reactions to them (there's also a more upbeat version of Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) as a contrast to the one you've already reacted to).
Nice reaction. Somebody like Aurora? Noone I can think of. Happily she has quite a large catalog of outstanding performances. As others have pointed out, Aurora live is frequently an otherworldly experience. I second the suggestions you'll get for her Nidarosdomen and Haik concerts especially.
Thank you! my first reaction was from last night. Wow, what an incredible artist. This was my first reaction - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eWRIE3_O7gQ.html
If you are interested this is a recent video Aurora did explaining the meaning of Runaway. And you will get a little look into her personality and what she looks like now. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P_-aEdRG95I.html
@@larryshair Glad you watched it. She's an interesting person and yes, very deep. You will see that in more of her songs going forward. Glad you are liking her music.
You REALLY need to watch 2 LIVE songs. First watch "It Happened Quiet", she's in a studio with the guitar lady. Second, watch "Churchyard" live in what looks like a garage Trust me, you won't be disappointed😜💗👍
@@auroralivee It happened quiet is near the top of the list for sure. Several recommendations for that one. Next up is "Through the eyes of a child". That seems to be the overwhelming next suggestions, then "It Happened Quiet" would be next. Thanks so much! Looking forward to it.
Also you should watch her Haik video, it kind of takes her through a day of surprises for her leading up to a beautiful concert in the forest. It's great because you get to see a side of her that's even more amazing
Thank you! Through the eyes of a child is the next one up! I have had several requests for that song, so I'm looking forward to the next adventure! Stay tuned!
@@larryshair You watched another video from the concert than I remember. Here is a closeup of her face when she "wakes up" after the song: youtu .be/Fc7XWW_Ehb8&t=4m5s
3:53 Fresh every time... What... She could sing this over and over, it would sound as if she had just sung it for the first time, every time. Another reason to adore her.
Love your two Aurora reactions. Can't wait until you do Lucky. I have one tiny issue. I think you may want to adjust your audio. I have found I have to turn up the volume to hear you clearly then turn it down for the music. Anyone else with the same issue or just me? Audio can be tricky. Been trying to figure out mine for a year and I am still not happy with how I sound. Keep up with the reactions. By far my favorite artist is Aurora but if you want some hard edge rock, check out The Warning.
If you really want to see how Aurora is all in with the songs with everything she is as she sings watch Runaway from the Øya Festival Concert at the 25 minute mark.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6L_uc7nIg00.html
Hey Larry, It’s me again. Just saw your reaction. She reminds me a lot of Delores O’Riordan of The Cranberries. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8MuhFxaT7zo.html Maybe this will be right up your alley! Greetings from a Stan, Fabian

There's another Norwegian that goes away like that when singing -- Einar Selvik -- lead singer of "Wardruna." I think he'd blow you away too, but in a different way. Aurora, Einar and Wardruna did a very haunting song live called "Hellvegen." I suggest you take a look. Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FnkTuHP9q3o.html. Best! Peace! (-:
Yes, please! And when you've listened to the Wardruna + Aurora version, look up the amazing cover by another band, Kalandra: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o6by9cl24Cw.html
As much as I love her live performances, I also always watch her mv's. They are always well thought out and beautiful and artistic. Try her uplifting mv Queendom. She is from Norway. We are often considered to have a Scottish or Irish twang when speaking😊
@@paulfredericksen6565 Agree. Her live performances are unique and awesome. Her MVs are equally unique, artistic, also very creative as is Aurora herself. Brilliant artwork.
Take a look to "Aurora - Runaway (cover by Daneliya Tuleshova)" Danelia is an incredible girl from Kazakhstan, singer, songwriter, dancer, beautiful soul and generally beautiful, she is an excellent student at school advanced in math and physics, speaks 3 languages and sings in 5 languages, including French, at the age of 13 she was appointed the Ambassador of Tourism of her country, won the Voice Ukraine at the age of 10, took 6th place in Eurovision and World's Best, she was finalist at AGT 2020. She has an amazing voice and amazing musical taste and is worth checking out.
Love Aurora Chris....she embodies and lives the music she sings.... and yes, I can think of another Artist that does not need Auto tune....Angelina Jordan. I believe you also know that after a traumatic experience at a funeral at a young age of 11 she developed a speech problem, Dysphemia to which she learned sign language as a result....personally, I believe that her prominent hand and arm expressions have a lot to do with how she performs...MHO.
There you go on your way to the Queendom Here's Aurora live 2'020 Verftet Online gig ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H3LC_tuBBro.html Nobody has ever reacted to this concert and I watch only Aurora reactions so Larry you could be the first one or maybe just watch the video so you can get a better reading on Aurora, she is the most adorable talented and unique creature ever All her work is stunning the different versions of her songs are unique jewels and I mean all her own music (she writes from an uncredibly young age, an awesome performer and producer, with a beautiful voice her covers are awesome
This might be a bigger commitment then you want to take on, but I think your ready for it. The Haik Concert and Documentary before it will really take head on into the world of Aurora, who she is, where she came from, her parents, music, the way she connects with her fans. The way her fans connect with her. Together it's over an hour of time, but believe me you won't regret a minute of it, you might even like me wish it was even longer.
I knew myself when I was a child far more then I understand who I am now I can only see fragments of myself when I look in the mirror but I used to be whole in my best self so I understand how as a child a person can create the best art that they ever will
Since you ask.. We have another Norwegian gem who is equaly genuine and a prodigy. Angelina Jordan. She has a deep rabbit hole of more than 140 songs on RU-vid, some of her own, but also covers of approx 75 artists from all eras, Billie Holiday to Adele. 🤗😊 She and Aurora are the soundtracks of my life these days. I don't need any other singers.. 😋🇧🇻 Love your reactions.. 🙂
I'm enjoying your journey with Aurora :) If you need a break from her and an example of another artist that pours herself into the music, check out janis joplin monterrey pop festival ball in chain. I believe they are kindred spirits. Aurora is an artist for me that gives me a favorite song untill i hear the next one. I just like all she has to offer really. Hopefully you continue through all her music, looking forward to what you think about some of her music videos, and especially the KEXP concert is really really good.
One of the best descriptions of her motion i've seen someone say is that it's like watching a wind we didn't know existed, flow through the leaves of tree's.
I subscribed to your channel when you discovered Angelina and love your reactions. Now through you I discovered Aurora. She is mesmerizing. I do think that Angelina manage to bring emotions out in a much more understated way. Just through her voice and interpretation of each song. You absolutely feel it. Another young artist to listen to is Diana Ankudinova ( Wicked games). She is mesmerizing in a more dramatic way and you mentioned , natural ability to yodel, she does not yodel but she has such a unique voice, and touching back story. Just love all the amazing young talent we have and love your reactions to them.
Great reaction, and some good recommendations. I think you'll enjoy 'It happened quiet' - live at the Current (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9U-N6LqzdIM.html) and 'Animal Soul' (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aXtAVhyqY7I.html) - as well as some of her lighter pieces like Queendom (original video is amazing, but I also really like this live performance ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zNQ-saX96cI.html)
just discovered you today and enjoying your comments. U R a Mensch. I am almost 79 and watch 1 to 4 hours a day of Aurora videos. She is a Better kind of human and one of the most important and gifted musical talents of my lifetime. She studied dance and does use her whole body to convey her music. Her music is rooted in genuine concern for the planet and all people believing we can band together and have a better kinder more joyful and safer world. She is confident and complex and 100 percent humility. I also watch Eivor, who has the most stunning voice EVER-- watch Falling Free and watch Susan Sundfor sing Undercover at The oslo Opera House and you will be in a river of your own tears. Also Silja Sol a huge talent who was the gal playing the guitar and Auror's backup singer. She left in May to puruse her own career. Be well
Okay. So watching her perform reminds me of some of the performers in the 60's, except they were on LSD or mushrooms to get them to that place. I think what we are observing is her in her natural state. Very intriguing to watch, it's like watching pure honesty express itself. Most of the musicians today all look the same while performing, as if they're coached. She just does what she feels, it doesn't matter, and we get to sit back & watch to see what comes out. It's like watching a child dance blissfully unaware anyone is watching. She is new to me, I am fascinated.
Great reaction thank you. Her performance of Lucky in the Nidarosdomen is also a must-watch performance but it may just require a tissue. Lucky is a song she wrote at the age of 9 and is about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after being through the darkest times in your life. It is simply brilliantly performed with live orchestra. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AmTiqR2_VAw.html
She is from Norway. This song she wrote when she was 11. Thank you for your another Aurora reaction. Loved both your Aurora reactions very much. She has many great songs and performances. I would recommend Lucky live from Nidarosdomen for another emotional song she wrote when she was 9 years old. Also for a more energetic performance would recommend All Is Soft inside life from KEXP 2018 :).
Susanne Sundfor (Sundfør) is another amazing(!!) norwegian singer. I request White Foxes, Slowly, Oblivion or When The Lord. Or if you want to react to more Aurora, Queendom music video please? :) Or her entire Infections album? 💗 Great reaction! Subscribed :)
This was really nice. My first listen to her. She's absolutely wonderful!!! Thank you for pleading with some of us hip hop heads to come check her out. 😊 Great video! 👍
Yes, that is one that I have seen people recommend quite a bit. The next on the list is "Through the eyes of a child". The Seed is definitely going on my list as well!
