I can’t get enough of Auroras voice. It’s like an ancient echo calling out reminding me of something we’ve all long forgotten but I’m wistfully wishing to remember
[Intro] Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme Remember me to one who lives there For once he was a true love of mine [Verse 1] Tell him to make me a cambric shirt Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme Without no seam nor fine needlework And he shall be the true love of mine [Verse 2] Tell him to wash it in yonder dry Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme Where water sprung and rain never fell And he shall be the true love of mine [Verse 3] Tell him to buy me an acre of land Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme Between salt water and the sea-sand And then he'll be the true love of mine [Bridge] Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Remember me to the one who lives there For once he was a true love of mine [Chorus] Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme Remember me to the one who lives there For once he was a true love of mine [Outro] For once he was a true love of mine
As someone who is born and bred in Scarborough where this song is based on I've never been so happy to hear Aurora sing this as i absolutely adore her and I'm a hugeee fan and have been for many years!
Fot who that dont know ,aurora sing this version for a opening of a brazilian series call "god save the king " she came to brazil in 2017 to talk about the song for the series , ( a brazilian here) i love her so much
Some Brazilian TV channel owns the rights to the song and hasn't shared with Spotify I'm assuming. They might in a few years... they keep it exclusive when it's new. "Over The Love" and "Breath of Life" both by Florence and the Machine went through a similar path.
Literally never knew this song existed until recently. From Scarborough and all I thought about its historical-ness was its castle lmao, but apparently there's a whole song about something I never knew existed however many centuries ago. This took me by surprise, anyone else here from Scarborough cos like - what
O.O how could you not know this song? Even if you don't know it as a folk song (probably one of the most famous) I'm amazed you don't know the Simon and Garfunkel cover (which is excellent by the way, check it out...I like Aurora but their cover is still the best I think) Although they all disappointingly mispronounce Scarborough as "ScarborOH" like Americans... still it's a good song. Also Scarborough has a ton of history, founded by the Vikings which is always a cool start xD
Dude I'm german and I know this song, cause its one of the most famous folk songs ever. But I am not judging you, sometimes things go by us without noticing them.
Like this one. But Suka Suka version has very high emotional impact. If you remember the last scene from series , then yea it will break you down everytime
The very cold night made us finish our chores earlier. Luckily God had blessed us with some food reservations and the stone house protected us a little, but it had started to snow and I would need to get the excess out of the door the next day. I admit that I sometimes miss the temple and the brothers of the Order. Life was also hard and in addition to waking up early they always had endless periods of prayer and meditation. I would really rather be in action. I remembered the Holy Land and my always strong religious feelings were awakened again. I had fought a lot for the Glory of God and Order; I was proud to be a Templar. But no, not anymore. Not even my brothers would normally take me back. My life was different now. And here came my new "deity" and the only one for whom I would once again lift a sword if necessary. The gentle way of sneaking up on me and hugging me from behind or the look of someone who ardently desires me... No. With her I returned to the present. She is the present! No longer a templar, the knight had died; the monk no longer existed. Just Jennie's man, Jennie's protector, Jennie's lover and love. - Thinking of what my dear? - Who more than you my love? I took her by surprise and lifted her. She laughed out loud and just kissed me hard in her lap. - I know, my knight. Time to sleep! Remembrance of a distant medieval love
I heard this melody before, it's from a german Band called 'Santiano', and the songs name is 'Garten Eden' (basiacally the German version of this) love both songs btw
Yes!! I've read it a few months back and discovered this song through it and now i kept coming back here every now and then just to relive how life felt like back then lmao
