A wonderful auroral display recorded the evening of September 25 at a Taste of Alaska Lodge outside Fairbanks Alaska on a Sony A7iv camera with a Sigma 1.4 14mm DG DN Art lens.
I'm sorry that you haven't had any positive comments. This is an incredible video! I am hoping to get to Alaska to see the Aurora next year. I have the f/1.8 version of this lens. Hopefully Nikon and Sigma can agree to get this on the Z mount before my trip. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your kind comments ! I think that new sigma lens is optically truly amazing. I have Parkinson’s and that focus lock feature is really a game changer too. Hope you make it to Alaska!
The aurora are far enough away that they are focused at infinity similar to the stars. This type of aurora is more like a glowing cloud with somewhat ill defined boundaries so may seem somewhat less focused
@@jpstravels9082 I also bought a sigma 1.4mm f/1.4 + sony a7s2 and am going to test it in aurora shooting, I’m wondering what the most optimal settings are. For example 25 fps, ISO 3200-40000 depending on brightness. But I would like to know what are the minimum fps values and maximum ISO values that should be avoided.
