@VikramRamFilms bro , I ain't an Aurovillian . I do not live in Auroville. I stayed there for a brief period of time . And yes , volunteers do get free stay & food if they are working in a community .

That was Kala Bhumi Studio and waha performances hotey rehtey hai . Aap jab bhi Auroville jao , look out for Notice boards in cafes restaurants hotels , un notice boards mein aapko latest event ka information milega . Though weekends ko usually kuch na kuch hota hai Kala Bhumi Studio mein .
If you are working in any of the communities of Auroville, then you get free food & stay in return. If you just want to explore, then you will be charged. You can call up Mr Nikhil - 09790582144 . He owns a hotel & hostel called Time Travellers. You can also check the Auroville website that I mention in the Vlog description , for more stay options.

You can go through that and figure out which ones are best suited for you . Their Ph numbers are available in Google , though you can contact the community on Instagram as well . Kya bakwaas hai kiski himmat hai jo roam na karne de hame...i was a volunteer for 4 months at buddha garden...never opted for the aurocard. Never had any problems.

In the description , i have added the list of communities in Auroville . Finalise the community u want to join. Try to get in touch with that community. Once you join them , then they can arrange for your stay and food. But initially, you have to stay in a hotel , till the time u get to join a community .
The nearest airport with direct flights, is in Chennai. From there , it's a 4 hour drive . Or take a train till Pondicherry and from there it's a 30 min drive .
To begin with , first stay in Auroville for a week or so & in that time , attend all the free seminars for the community you want to join . Free session informations are at the notice boards in Cafes, or ask a local . During the session, talk to them and ask them when can you start volunteering.

Whichever community work you like , you can attend its weekly free seminar and then talk to the people currently working in that community for volunteering work . With car , you can reach Auroville but to roam around the campus , you have to have an Auto Card that is provided by the hotel you stay in Auroville.
