Correction on the brake wires. Those are supposed to connect to your brake lever switch to tell the motor controller to cut power to the motor when you apply brakes. No regenerative braking on the controllers

Hi, Do you recon if this motor can be mounted facing down on an outboard? I am thinking of converting my petrol outboard to an electric one and would appreciate your comment since you have dealt with it.

Can I use the motor alone with my own speed control knob and plug it in? Will it work? I don’t need those other parts. I’m using it for a different project.

Has anyone used one of these brushless motors 3000w to power a quad bike. I’m thinking of getting rid of the blown motor and doing an EV conversion. I’m in Vic as well.

Feels rough when turning by hand cause of the magnets and coils working against eachother not the bearing 🤣

For real it just means the magnets and and the stator are obeying the laws of physics

I have that same Vevor controller torn apart right now, as I have to trim the housing down to fit in my scooter, and there's about a 1/2" of material on either side that can be removed without even touching the PCB. I imagine the extra material is to aid heat dissipation, however it will be located at the front of my vehicle where there are plenty of ventilation holes in the deck, so it should be feasible to run a smaller box given my frame's dimensional restraints. Disassembly is really easy: just remove the 8 screws on either side as well as the 5 mosfet heatsink screws on the side, then the whole board just slides out the top. I plan on reassembling it with a bead of hot glue on both end caps for added waterproofing (as I mentioned the deck is ventilated).

Nice one Benny. WHat makes the throttle controller garbage? general quality?
@bennysgarageau
@bennysgarageau Год назад
General quality - very short throttle position, fitment, type of plastic used, type of grips used ect. Also there is only one part of the assy that clamps to the bar end, the rest floats, to me it doesn't appear to be hard wearing. And very importantly for me, not even close to water resistant. I have bought a new one, and am waiting for delivery. I was also pretty keen on getting one with a speed - voltage - battery display
