I would say they originally drove on the right hand side of the road in another country before moving to perth, ive moved from perth to canada and did find myself on the left over here in some moments of less than adequate attention moments. But thats just a guess….
I did the same in Russia a couple of times . Even went around a 6 lane roundabout the Wrong way. Yes People still drive like idiots there as seen in those Russian dash cam vids.
I don't know we've had some pretty hard borders in Perth for some time now. So if they are foreign then it's likely they haven't driven on the right for well over a year.
My driver's instinct says 'back off, they're gonna do something wacky any moment' and my schadenfreude says 'get closer, they're gonna do something wacky any moment.' It reminds me I once did a classic pull out on the left while driving in Canada (after having quite a bit of driving experience there). It was weird, like Oz driving default settings kicked in. I laughed about it later...
So, that's a P-plater. Which means they allegedly passed a driving test, and quite recently too. Me, I think they should still be on L-plates with a qualified instructor in the left seat!
I disagree. They clearly should not be driving at all. It’s not that bloody hard. We are sharing the same roads as these morons and they will end up killing innocent people.
New driver from overseas in an unknown location distracted by their phone / maps and then stressed about a menacing looking 4wd coming up on their tiny car and blasting them with the horn. They then go back to what they know (driving on the right side) but mid exit realize they are supposed to be on the left side. You'd be surprised what can happen when you get stressed. I remember driving in the USA in a back street at night and was stressed because I was lost for over 30 minutes . I ended up driving on the left again. It was one of those stupid housing estate things with 1 way in / out and lots of little sub streets. As for going around the roundabout the wrong way... I've seen this numerous times here (usually near the international airport on the way to return the rental car. )
Stop with the excuses you have no idea what's going on inside the head of t he getz driver you are only guessing and you don't know what nationality or even if the driver was born here. When driving you just have to react to what's infront of you and on this occasion its a driver who does not comprehend the road rules - As simple as that!
That’s why driving on an international licence isn’t good. Whether that’s the case here. Transport/Main Roads could be reaping in the $$$ with mandatory driving lessons - like other OS countries.
Gotta hand it to the DC driver. Honked once, but didn’t tail gate the Getz and gave them plenty of space. Some people shouldn’t be on the road, but no sense in making it worse by intimidating them.
That's just somebody new to Australia driving on the right side of the road as we do here. Just give them a friendly honk when they make a mild error - and lay it on them when it gets dangerous, If it was me, I would appreciate a reminder.
When you are right, you are right. It seems to be a beautiful day with a pretty sky above. However, we have blue sky and cloud formations as white as snow on the other side of our world too. Winter is coming here though, so you Aussies must already feel warmer weater coming - you have my best wishes on a fantastic summer .. and my envy. 😇
Wrong ( if it is the case) that visitors from o/s can drive here without some form of testing first. Had multiple times in my 38years in the NT when confronted with hire vehicles coming towards me on the wrong side of the road. 😎👍
I'm sorry, YOU are wrong! Anyone with a driver's licence from any other country can drive here for up to 3 months, without any sort of test! I know this because I checked with the police when my wife emigrated, from Russia. BTW, the same goes in other countries. I have driven, quite legally, in many other country, including USA, NZ, Singapore, Japan, Ireland, Philippines. No test required, no issues.
@@Chris-hx3om depends on the licence issue authority. Most nations have a licencing system compatible with the Australian licence, so short term visitors often get driving on their visa. Longer term and frequent travellers get what is called an international driver's permit that is accepted by most countries for extended periods of driving. The list of unrecognised countries, though, is very small.
Testing wouldn't make any difference. I could pass a test for driving in the USA, but that doesn't mean that I won't make any mistakes after the test. I drove fine for months in the USA, then one day I just pulled out of a driveway and set off down the wrong side of the road for about a quarter mile. It happens.
haha, something similar happened to me in Queensland many years ago when I just moved from Europe. It is even more confusing when there is no traffic around.
I can guarantee you it's an overseas driver (probably "student") who completely forgot what side of the road they were on - common as hell in Perth. When my daughter was in childcare the school drop-off driver, a Canadian girl, drove the wrong way up a road luckily without an accident. Cost her job which I thought was a bit unfair.
Malaysia, Japan, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia all drive on the left. That eliminates quite a few suspects. I suspect the driver may be Chinese.
Yet police target drivers exceeding the speed limit by 3km/hr because "it saves lives", not for the revenue at all. That's just an unfortunate by product.
Because they can put up stationary cameras and companies that sit on the side of the road, it mean police can sit inside there comfy police station that just got a massive upgrade and say they are doing paperwork and only the coloured cars can pull people over, normal constables cannot pull over for traffic infringements unless they have a senior officer with them to tell them yes or no.
@@justanothergirl3486 - Police don't put up camera's, governments do. Police can and do use a variety of unmarked cars as well as marked cars, to pull over motorists for alleged traffic offences. Any of the police involved with Traffic Services would have the ability to pull over motorists while they're on patrol.
@@DVSUte-; Last time I was pulled over, I was traveling at the speed limit and hadn't committed and traffic infringements that I was aware of. It was just a lone patrol cop so I got out and waited at the rear end of my car for him to meet me. The cop comes up and asks he if I know why he pulled me over. I said, no idea, to which he replies. " Your number plate lights are out". After the licence check he opted to give me a written caution for the blown globes. During the writing of the caution he received an emergency call and quickly retuned my licence then bailed with lights flashing.
Green P plate and still cannot drive on the correct side of the road or know when has the right off way at a round about ? Money cannot buy you love but it can buy you a drivers license it seems .
What The !!!!! 😳. ….. So they’ve had their licence for 12 months and still don’t know what side of the road to drive on 🤦🏻♂️ And to think somebody Passed them for a drivers licence 🤷🏻♂️😵💫 , who was that moron ??? “LICENCE should be REVOKED”
I get this all the time near where I live.. Down the wrong side of the road, half on the medium strip, cut the roundabouts.. I can't believe I haven't see a head on collision yet.. Even fkn motorbikes do it..
