From Dc Owner : Put my Audi S5 in for a roadworthy. Owner said he needed to keep overnight. He ended up bringing car back to his house and took friends and family for joy rides around Brisbane.

Queensland hoon laws may apply - testing speed, without due care (almost double the speed limit) - $6192 in fines and 6 months. But at least you got any cobwebs removed.I'm hoping to see this on 'A Current Affair' or similar soon.

When a car gets a roadworthy, the mechanics are supposed to do a road test. Ensuring that everything works as required whilst driving. But they are expected to follow the road rules AND treat the customer’s property with respect. These guys did neither.

A couple of times when I got my car back after a service the front and rear cameras had both been unplugged...watching this video now gives me some idea why that was!!...

That was just asking for trouble. You don't really need to do much when performing an rwc inspection. In my mind you only need to check it over on the hoist looking for any issues that prevent the vehicle from passing the inspection, that includes checking if all your headlights high and low including park lamps and foglamps if it has any. Then check that brake lights and park lights at the rear work including licence plate lamps and reverse lights. Tyres are checked out as well. Once everything is checked out and everything is ok, the only test drive sort of thing they really need to do is a brake test with a brake test machine fitted. Once that's ok, return to workshop and fill out paperwork and hand the car back to the customer. Not take a fun joyride like those two fulla's did.

I have a Tesla M3 Performance almost due for it's annual road worthy certificate. To stop this from happening, I can activate valet mode and set up a max speed of 80kph. Good enough to do the brake test but limits the car's acceleration and top speed.

Blackvue for your safe driving. Starting normal recording. I assume the owner has the voice prompts turned down otherwise these muppets would surely know. Road tests are normal, but that's not a normal road test (those speeds and blowing that red light)

I wouldn't want them to treat my car like that, but when I took my motorbike in for a service, they did a test ride after tuning, and a I saw my bike riding by as I waited in a park, and they were being too gentle with it. I told them, I expected them to gun it a bit! :)

Had my old C63 in for a gearbox replacement (long story, I bought a lemon) and a friend saw my car doing burnouts one day….. checked the footage and the entire time it was in the shop had mysteriously disappeared….!!!

I would really like to see this on A Current Affair, where they can ask the really hard hitting questions, like : "Did you take the car for a bit of a joyride?", "How did you like the acceleration?", "Are you going to that again?"

Did he just blow that red light near the end! Fucking outrageous behaviour flogging your car and with a passenger! I would show the cops that bit of footage and say this wasn’t me speeding or breaking the road rules.

Better learn to work on your own car maybe? In defence of the mechanic, which I am one, a vehicle that breaks down under load is not roadworthy. Technically speaking, it needs to be tested under all conditions or the whinger buying it complains. Is it safe to drive at speed or not? Can it brake properly in an emergency? Does the suspension work accordingly? Given, they got carried away a bit, but they are nowhere near a highway either. Look, complain all you like but I hope you buy a car one day that lets you down when you need it to save you. Feel free to complain about my comment too. I won't care, because the cars I work on are safe for the customer and they can depend on it.

I know someone who does/did wheel stuff, fitting alignments etc, he would do this, QLD too, and he's not young, he's in his 40's, no respect, never got caught though so these guys are extra dumb, I mean dash cams aren't really subtle, hope they get fired honestly, most likely done this before, not worth it to the business to have people like this working for you.

Incident happened a little while back and was released yesterday! Dc owner released it to us and dcoa by looks of it, both posted it within about 15 minutes of each other. There is no further info we can provide.

It kind of sounds like the second voive may be the owner? If that is the case, then I have no sympathy for you. You had numerous chances to tell the driver to calm down, drive slower. But you didn't. Infact it almost sound like you baited him with the statements "it does have a bit of lag" and "don't get a ticket"... Like what are those comment?? They sound like "I'm a hoon, just be mindful" lolololol. Yeah no sympathy from me. You should have told him to stop but you didn't. 👎🏼

You do realise, all mechanics are tappet heads, right? You'd be amazed to see what mechanics HAVE to do to bed down a new set of brake pads in order for them not to squeal on you for the rest of the pad's lifetime. This is apparently an RWC, so... a bit different. But you'd also be amazed to see what "blowing out the cobwebs" can do for a computer controlled engine tune that "learns" "driver behaviours". This dude, is reckless and needs to be pulled up. But this kinda stuff happens every single day for a multitude of reasons, some valid, some not so much.

Doing more than double the speed limit down a side street, doing more than double the speed limit as he went through a red light in a car that is not his, and you don't think it is that bad? I assume you also drive like an absolute w@nker and that is why you can't see the issue.
